An-Nisā’

Ajeti: 1

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفۡسٖ وَٰحِدَةٖ وَخَلَقَ مِنۡهَا زَوۡجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنۡهُمَا رِجَالٗا كَثِيرٗا وَنِسَآءٗۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي تَسَآءَلُونَ بِهِۦ وَٱلۡأَرۡحَامَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ رَقِيبٗا

1. O people, fear 'Allāh' your Lord, Who created you from a single soul 'Adam' and from it He created its mate 'Eve', and spread from both of them many men and women. Fear Allāh, by Whom you demand one of another (your rights) and 'honour your' relatives. Surely Allāh is ever Watchful over you.

Ajeti: 2

وَءَاتُواْ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰٓ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡۖ وَلَا تَتَبَدَّلُواْ ٱلۡخَبِيثَ بِٱلطَّيِّبِۖ وَلَا تَأۡكُلُوٓاْ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ إِلَىٰٓ أَمۡوَٰلِكُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حُوبٗا كَبِيرٗا

2. Give to the orphans their money. Do not exchange your bad (possessions) for their good ones and do not consume their money along with your own. This is certainly a major crime.

Ajeti: 3

وَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تُقۡسِطُواْ فِي ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُواْ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَۖ فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُواْ فَوَٰحِدَةً أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدۡنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُواْ

3. If you fear that you may not deal justly (by marrying) the orphan-girls (under your guardianship), then marry (other) women of your choice - two, three or four1; but if you fear that you shall not do justice (between them), then (content yourselves with) one or those your right hand possesses. This is more suitable that you may not incline [to iniquity].

1. This verse was revealed concerning any man under whom is an orphan girl for whom he is both guardian and inheritor, while she has money and with no one to argue in her favor. This guardian is enjoined not to marry her for her money, nor is he to abuse her.

Ajeti: 4

وَءَاتُواْ ٱلنِّسَآءَ صَدُقَٰتِهِنَّ نِحۡلَةٗۚ فَإِن طِبۡنَ لَكُمۡ عَن شَيۡءٖ مِّنۡهُ نَفۡسٗا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيٓـٔٗا مَّرِيٓـٔٗا

4. Give the women (upon marriage) their dowries graciously. However, if they allow you to keep a part of it as a favor for you, then take it with a clear conscience.

Ajeti: 5

وَلَا تُؤۡتُواْ ٱلسُّفَهَآءَ أَمۡوَٰلَكُمُ ٱلَّتِي جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ قِيَٰمٗا وَٱرۡزُقُوهُمۡ فِيهَا وَٱكۡسُوهُمۡ وَقُولُواْ لَهُمۡ قَوۡلٗا مَّعۡرُوفٗا

5. Do not give the weak-minded your money2 which Allāh has made for you a (means of) support, but feed and cloth them from it, and speak to them kind words.

2. Although it is their money, Allāh refers to it in the collective sense, reminding us that all wealth is provided by Him for the maintenance of the community as well as of individual members.The Prophet Muhammad said, "Allâh has forbidden for you: (a) To be undutiful to your mothers, (b) to bury your daughters alive, (c) not to pay the rights of the others, and (d) to beg of people . And Allâh has hated for you: (a) that you talk too much about others, (b) to ask insignificant questions (in disputed religious matters) and (c) to waste the wealth by extravagance with lack of wisdom and thinking.

Ajeti: 6

وَٱبۡتَلُواْ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُواْ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنۡ ءَانَسۡتُم مِّنۡهُمۡ رُشۡدٗا فَٱدۡفَعُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡۖ وَلَا تَأۡكُلُوهَآ إِسۡرَافٗا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكۡبَرُواْۚ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيّٗا فَلۡيَسۡتَعۡفِفۡۖ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرٗا فَلۡيَأۡكُلۡ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۚ فَإِذَا دَفَعۡتُمۡ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ فَأَشۡهِدُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبٗا

6. Test the orphans until they attain puberty; if you find in them maturity of intellect, hand over to them their wealth. Do not consume it by wasteful spending and in haste, lest they attain full age. Whoever is rich, let him abstain altogether, and whoever is poor, let him eat of it reasonably. When you hand over to them their wealth, call witnesses in their presence. Allāh is Enough as a Reckoner.

Ajeti: 7

لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٞ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلۡوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبُونَ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٞ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلۡوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبُونَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنۡهُ أَوۡ كَثُرَۚ نَصِيبٗا مَّفۡرُوضٗا

7. Men have a share of what parents and near relatives leave behind (of inheritance), and women have a share of what parents and near relatives leave behind, whether it is little or much; a legal share.

Ajeti: 8

وَإِذَا حَضَرَ ٱلۡقِسۡمَةَ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينُ فَٱرۡزُقُوهُم مِّنۡهُ وَقُولُواْ لَهُمۡ قَوۡلٗا مَّعۡرُوفٗا

8. If relatives, orphans or destitute people are present at (the time) of division (the inheritance), give them (something) out of it, and speak to them kind words.

Ajeti: 9

وَلۡيَخۡشَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَوۡ تَرَكُواْ مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّةٗ ضِعَٰفًا خَافُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ فَلۡيَتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡيَقُولُواْ قَوۡلٗا سَدِيدًا

9. Let those (in charge of orphans) have the same fear in their minds, as they would have for their own, if they had left weak offspring behind, so let them fear Allāh 'God' and let them speak right words.

Ajeti: 10

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأۡكُلُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ ظُلۡمًا إِنَّمَا يَأۡكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ نَارٗاۖ وَسَيَصۡلَوۡنَ سَعِيرٗا

10. Those who wrongfully consume the wealth of the orphans, they only consume fire into their bellies, and they will burn in a blazing Fire.

Ajeti: 11

يُوصِيكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِيٓ أَوۡلَٰدِكُمۡۖ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثۡلُ حَظِّ ٱلۡأُنثَيَيۡنِۚ فَإِن كُنَّ نِسَآءٗ فَوۡقَ ٱثۡنَتَيۡنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَۖ وَإِن كَانَتۡ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَلَهَا ٱلنِّصۡفُۚ وَلِأَبَوَيۡهِ لِكُلِّ وَٰحِدٖ مِّنۡهُمَا ٱلسُّدُسُ مِمَّا تَرَكَ إِن كَانَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٞۚ فَإِن لَّمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ وَلَدٞ وَوَرِثَهُۥٓ أَبَوَاهُ فَلِأُمِّهِ ٱلثُّلُثُۚ فَإِن كَانَ لَهُۥٓ إِخۡوَةٞ فَلِأُمِّهِ ٱلسُّدُسُۚ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ وَصِيَّةٖ يُوصِي بِهَآ أَوۡ دَيۡنٍۗ ءَابَآؤُكُمۡ وَأَبۡنَآؤُكُمۡ لَا تَدۡرُونَ أَيُّهُمۡ أَقۡرَبُ لَكُمۡ نَفۡعٗاۚ فَرِيضَةٗ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

11. Allāh instructs you about your children's 'inheritance': The male shall inherit an equal portion to two females. If they are more than two females, they shall inherit two-thirds of what the deceased has left, and if there is one, she shall inherit half. As for his parents, each of them shall inherit a sixth of what he has left if he has a child; but if he has no child and (only) his two parents inherit from him, then his mother shall inherit a third but if he has brothers, then his mother shall inherit a sixth after (the fulfillment of) any bequest he may have made or a debt. Your parents and your children, you do not know which of them is nearer to you in usefulness. This is a Decree from Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 12

۞ وَلَكُمۡ نِصۡفُ مَا تَرَكَ أَزۡوَٰجُكُمۡ إِن لَّمۡ يَكُن لَّهُنَّ وَلَدٞۚ فَإِن كَانَ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٞ فَلَكُمُ ٱلرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكۡنَۚ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ وَصِيَّةٖ يُوصِينَ بِهَآ أَوۡ دَيۡنٖۚ وَلَهُنَّ ٱلرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكۡتُمۡ إِن لَّمۡ يَكُن لَّكُمۡ وَلَدٞۚ فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ وَلَدٞ فَلَهُنَّ ٱلثُّمُنُ مِمَّا تَرَكۡتُمۚ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ وَصِيَّةٖ تُوصُونَ بِهَآ أَوۡ دَيۡنٖۗ وَإِن كَانَ رَجُلٞ يُورَثُ كَلَٰلَةً أَوِ ٱمۡرَأَةٞ وَلَهُۥٓ أَخٌ أَوۡ أُخۡتٞ فَلِكُلِّ وَٰحِدٖ مِّنۡهُمَا ٱلسُّدُسُۚ فَإِن كَانُوٓاْ أَكۡثَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَهُمۡ شُرَكَآءُ فِي ٱلثُّلُثِۚ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ وَصِيَّةٖ يُوصَىٰ بِهَآ أَوۡ دَيۡنٍ غَيۡرَ مُضَآرّٖۚ وَصِيَّةٗ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٞ

12. You shall inherit half of what your wives leave if they have no child, but if they have a child, then you shall inherit a fourth of what they leave after (the fulfillment of) any bequest they may have made or a debt; and they shall inherit a fourth of what you leave if you have no child, but if you have a child then they shall inherit an eighth of what you leave after (fulfillment of) a bequest you may have made or a debt. If a man or a woman leaves wealth to be inherited by neither parents nor offspring, and he (or she) has a brother or a sister (from their mother’s side), then each one of them shall inherit a sixth, but if they are more than that they (all) shall be sharers in one-third (equally) after (the fulfillment of) any bequest that he may have been made or a debt, not harming (the heirs)3. This is an Ordinance from Allāh. For Allāh is All- Knowing, Most Forbearing.

3. By willing away more than a third of the heritage.

Ajeti: 13

تِلۡكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدۡخِلۡهُ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۚ وَذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

13. These are the set limits 'Laws' of Allāh. Whoever obeys Allāh and His messenger 'Muhammad', He will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow, to abide therein forever. This is the great triumph.

Ajeti: 14

وَمَن يَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَهُۥ يُدۡخِلۡهُ نَارًا خَٰلِدٗا فِيهَا وَلَهُۥ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ

14. Whoever disobeys Allāh and His messenger 'Muhammad', and breaks Allah's Laws, He will admit him into a Fire to abide therein forever, and for him there will be a humiliating torment.

Ajeti: 15

وَٱلَّٰتِي يَأۡتِينَ ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةَ مِن نِّسَآئِكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَشۡهِدُواْ عَلَيۡهِنَّ أَرۡبَعَةٗ مِّنكُمۡۖ فَإِن شَهِدُواْ فَأَمۡسِكُوهُنَّ فِي ٱلۡبُيُوتِ حَتَّىٰ يَتَوَفَّىٰهُنَّ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ أَوۡ يَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُنَّ سَبِيلٗا

15. Those of your women who commit adultery, call to witness against them four (witnesses) from among you. If they bear witness, confine them (i.e., the guilty women) to the houses until death takes them away, or Allāh ordains a different rule for them4.

4. I.e., the penalty later revealed in Surah 24:2

Ajeti: 16

وَٱلَّذَانِ يَأۡتِيَٰنِهَا مِنكُمۡ فَـَٔاذُوهُمَاۖ فَإِن تَابَا وَأَصۡلَحَا فَأَعۡرِضُواْ عَنۡهُمَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ تَوَّابٗا رَّحِيمًا

16. If any two of you commit fornication, punish them. If they repent and reform, turn aside from them. Indeed, Allāh is ever Accepting of Repentance, Most Merciful.

Ajeti: 17

إِنَّمَا ٱلتَّوۡبَةُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٖ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٖ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

17. Allāh accepts only the repentance of those who do evil out of ignorance, then turn (repent to Allāh ) soon after, these it is to whom Allāh will turn to (in forgiveness). For Allāh is ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 18

وَلَيۡسَتِ ٱلتَّوۡبَةُ لِلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ قَالَ إِنِّي تُبۡتُ ٱلۡـَٰٔنَ وَلَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَمُوتُونَ وَهُمۡ كُفَّارٌۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمٗا

18. Repentance is not for those who insist in committing evil deeds, until when death comes to one of them, he says: "Now I repent;" nor (for) those who die while they are deniers. For these We have prepared a painful torment.

Ajeti: 19

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمۡ أَن تَرِثُواْ ٱلنِّسَآءَ كَرۡهٗاۖ وَلَا تَعۡضُلُوهُنَّ لِتَذۡهَبُواْ بِبَعۡضِ مَآ ءَاتَيۡتُمُوهُنَّ إِلَّآ أَن يَأۡتِينَ بِفَٰحِشَةٖ مُّبَيِّنَةٖۚ وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۚ فَإِن كَرِهۡتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكۡرَهُواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَيَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيۡرٗا كَثِيرٗا

19. O believers, it is not lawful for you that you take women (as) heritage against (their) will5, nor to hinder them from marriage, in order to take back some of what you have given them, unless they commit a clear indecency. 'Husbands love your wives and' treat them honorably. If you dislike them, then it may be that you dislike a thing which Allāh might yet make a source of abundant good.

5. The reason behind this Verses' revelation had to do with pagan practice during the age of ignorance whereby: “When a man dies, his close male relatives claimed more of a right to his wife than her own family. If they wished, they could marry her ˹to one of them˺, or marry her off to anybody, or hold her back from marriage”. The fact of the matter is that these women hate what is being done to them and are forced into it, against their will.

Ajeti: 20

وَإِنۡ أَرَدتُّمُ ٱسۡتِبۡدَالَ زَوۡجٖ مَّكَانَ زَوۡجٖ وَءَاتَيۡتُمۡ إِحۡدَىٰهُنَّ قِنطَارٗا فَلَا تَأۡخُذُواْ مِنۡهُ شَيۡـًٔاۚ أَتَأۡخُذُونَهُۥ بُهۡتَٰنٗا وَإِثۡمٗا مُّبِينٗا

20. If you decide to divorce woman so that you marry another, and you have given one of them a heap of gold, then take not from it anything. Would you take it by slandering (her) and (doing her) manifest wrong?

Ajeti: 21

وَكَيۡفَ تَأۡخُذُونَهُۥ وَقَدۡ أَفۡضَىٰ بَعۡضُكُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ وَأَخَذۡنَ مِنكُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظٗا

21. How can you take it back when you have had intimate relation, and they have taken from you a firm covenant?

Ajeti: 22

وَلَا تَنكِحُواْ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدۡ سَلَفَۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةٗ وَمَقۡتٗا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا

22. Do not marry those (women) whom your fathers married, except what occurred in the past (during the age of ignorance). It is indeed sinful, loathsome, and abominable.

Ajeti: 23

حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ أُمَّهَٰتُكُمۡ وَبَنَاتُكُمۡ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُمۡ وَعَمَّٰتُكُمۡ وَخَٰلَٰتُكُمۡ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلۡأَخِ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلۡأُخۡتِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِيٓ أَرۡضَعۡنَكُمۡ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُم مِّنَ ٱلرَّضَٰعَةِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُ نِسَآئِكُمۡ وَرَبَٰٓئِبُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِي فِي حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِي دَخَلۡتُم بِهِنَّ فَإِن لَّمۡ تَكُونُواْ دَخَلۡتُم بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَحَلَٰٓئِلُ أَبۡنَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنۡ أَصۡلَٰبِكُمۡ وَأَن تَجۡمَعُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلۡأُخۡتَيۡنِ إِلَّا مَا قَدۡ سَلَفَۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

23. Prohibited to you (for marriage) are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your paternal and maternal aunts, your brothers’ and sisters’ daughters, your mothers that have breastfed you, your foster-sisters, the mothers of your wives, your step-daughters who are in your guardianship, (born) of your wives to whom you have gone in, but if you have not gone in to them, there is no blame on you (in marrying them), the wives of your sons who are of your own loins and (you are prohibited) to have two sisters together (as your wives), except what has already passed (before Islam). Indeed, Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Ajeti: 24

۞ وَٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتُ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡۖ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ وَأُحِلَّ لَكُم مَّا وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكُمۡ أَن تَبۡتَغُواْ بِأَمۡوَٰلِكُم مُّحۡصِنِينَ غَيۡرَ مُسَٰفِحِينَۚ فَمَا ٱسۡتَمۡتَعۡتُم بِهِۦ مِنۡهُنَّ فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةٗۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِيمَا تَرَٰضَيۡتُم بِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلۡفَرِيضَةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

24. Also (prohibited to you are) all married women except those 'female' captives whom you rightfully possess, (this is) Allah’s Ordinance to you. Lawful for you are (all women) besides those, provided that you seek (them) with your wealth, taking (them) in marriage, desiring chastity, not committing adultery. As for those whom you desire to enjoy legal marriage, give them their dowries as appointed. There is no blame on you about what you mutually agree after what is appointed. Indeed, Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 25

وَمَن لَّمۡ يَسۡتَطِعۡ مِنكُمۡ طَوۡلًا أَن يَنكِحَ ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ فَمِن مَّا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُم مِّن فَتَيَٰتِكُمُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِۚ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِإِيمَٰنِكُمۚ بَعۡضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡضٖۚ فَٱنكِحُوهُنَّ بِإِذۡنِ أَهۡلِهِنَّ وَءَاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ مُحۡصَنَٰتٍ غَيۡرَ مُسَٰفِحَٰتٖ وَلَا مُتَّخِذَٰتِ أَخۡدَانٖۚ فَإِذَآ أُحۡصِنَّ فَإِنۡ أَتَيۡنَ بِفَٰحِشَةٖ فَعَلَيۡهِنَّ نِصۡفُ مَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنۡ خَشِيَ ٱلۡعَنَتَ مِنكُمۡۚ وَأَن تَصۡبِرُواْ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

25. Whoever among you cannot (find) the means to marry free believing women, then (he may marry) a believing bondwoman possessed by one of you. Allāh knows best your faith. You (believers) are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their masters, and give them their dowries justly, they being chaste, not (of) those who commit fornication, nor those who take (secret) paramours; but once they are taken in marriage, if they commit adultery, they shall suffer half the punishment which is (prescribed) for free (unmarried) women (in a similar case). This (permission to marry believing maidens applies) to those among you who fear falling into fornication (if they do not get married); but being patient6 is better for you to practice self-control. Allāh is All- Forgiving, Most Merciful.

6. Abstaining from such marriages to bond-maids who are not yet well mannered and freed.

Ajeti: 26

يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَكُمۡ وَيَهۡدِيَكُمۡ سُنَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَيَتُوبَ عَلَيۡكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ

26. Allāh wants to make clear to you (the lawful from the unlawful), and to guide you into the (peaceful) ways of those before you7, and to grant you repentance - for Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

7. The laws of those who came before you is the most laudable course that earlier honouarble Prophets of Allāh and their rightly-guided followers took in life.

Ajeti: 27

وَٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَيُرِيدُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ أَن تَمِيلُواْ مَيۡلًا عَظِيمٗا

27. Allāh wants to turn to you (mercifully), but those who follow (their) lusts want that you deviate (with) a major deviation8.

8. Those who are sinful try hard to make the believers follow their path and relinquish that of Allah’s, so that they will stand on an equal, immoral, footing.

Ajeti: 28

يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُخَفِّفَ عَنكُمۡۚ وَخُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ ضَعِيفٗا

28. Allāh wants to lighten your burdens. For Man is created weak (in flesh and by nature).

Ajeti: 29

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَأۡكُلُوٓاْ أَمۡوَٰلَكُم بَيۡنَكُم بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً عَن تَرَاضٖ مِّنكُمۡۚ وَلَا تَقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمۡ رَحِيمٗا

29. O believers, do not consume your wealth among yourselves unlawfully, except that it be trading by your mutual consent. Do not kill yourselves9 (nor kill one another). Indeed, Allāh is Ever Merciful to you.

9. Prophet Muhammad said: "He who commits suicide by choking shall keep on choking himself in the Hellfire, and he who commits suicide by stabbing himself shall keep on stabbing himself in the Hellfire."

Ajeti: 30

وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ عُدۡوَٰنٗا وَظُلۡمٗا فَسَوۡفَ نُصۡلِيهِ نَارٗاۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا

30. Whoever commits this10 in hostility and injustice, We shall soon burn him in Hell. This is too easy for Allāh.

10. Usurping people’s money and killing them.

Ajeti: 31

إِن تَجۡتَنِبُواْ كَبَآئِرَ مَا تُنۡهَوۡنَ عَنۡهُ نُكَفِّرۡ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَنُدۡخِلۡكُم مُّدۡخَلٗا كَرِيمٗا

31. If you avoid the major sins which you are prohibited11, We will expiate your (lesser) sins, and admit you into an honorable place of entering (Paradise).

11. Every sin is an offense against Allāh. Yet, Allāh makes a distinction between two types of sins. The most serious and grave sins, which is called deadly sins. By their very grave nature, a deadly sin turns man away from his Creator, Allāh. The second type of sin, minor sin, that of less grave matter. However, minor sin damages our relationship with Allāh. A person who frequently indulges in minor sin is very likely to collapse into major sin if they persist in their evil ways. In order for a sin to be deadly, it must meet three conditions:
Deadly sin is a sin of grave matter.
Deadly sin is committed with full knowledge of the sinner. Deadly sin is committed with deliberate consent of the sinner. The Qur’an and the Sunnah gives us a list of grave sins that anyone who commits will be subject to the punishment of Allāh, which are these; Idolatry, murder, adultery, fornication, Sodomy and homosexual relations, taking advantage of the poor, defrauding the workingman of his wages, stealing, lasciviousness, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, drunkenness, revellings and such like. We should know that neither idolaters, nor adulterers, nor fornicators, nor the effeminate, nor liers, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards nor railers, nor extortioners shall enter Paradise unless they repent. The Qur'an and Sunnah also tells us that the sins of anger, blasphemy, envy, malice, neglect of Friday obligation, sins against faith (heresy), sins against hope (obstinate despair in the hope for salvation and/or presumption that oneself can live without Allāh or be saved by one’s own power) and sins against love (indifference towards charity, ingratitude) also constitute grave matter. These sins not only offend Allāh, but men as well. Thus these sins are called “the sins that cry to heaven for vengeance” and are likewise deadly sins. There are seven vices that spur other sins and further immoral behaviour which are 1.
Pride, 2. Greed, 3. Illicit sexual desire, 4. Envy, .5. Drinking alcohol or taking drugs, 6. Anger, and 7. Laziness or idleness. Each of these can be overcome with the seven virtues of (1) Humility, (2) Giving charity, (3) Chastity, (4) Gratitude, (5) Abstinence from alcoholic drink or taking drugs, (6) Patience, and (7) Careful and persistent work or effort.

Ajeti: 32

وَلَا تَتَمَنَّوۡاْ مَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ بَعۡضَكُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖۚ لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٞ مِّمَّا ٱكۡتَسَبُواْۖ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٞ مِّمَّا ٱكۡتَسَبۡنَۚ وَسۡـَٔلُواْ ٱللَّهَ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٗا

32. Do not covet that by which Allāh has made some of you excel others12. Men shall have the benefit of what they earn and women shall have the benefit of what they earn13. Ask Allāh of His bounty14. Indeed, Allāh knows everything.

12. Believers are warned against envy and wishing for what others are favoured with of worldly gains.
13. Allāh is concerned that men and women should not be taken advantage of, but should receive their just wages. According to Islam, failure to pay promptly is a sin. Allāh hates injustice in financial relationships. Furthermore, the Prophet Muhammad emphasized the importance of paying employees on time and treating them with kindness and respect. He said, "Give the worker his wages before his sweat dries". This emphasizes the importance of paying employees promptly and not delaying their wages.
14. Prophet Muhammad said: “Ask Allāh while you firmly believe that He will respond to you; know that Allāh does not respond to an inattentive and wandering heart”.

Ajeti: 33

وَلِكُلّٖ جَعَلۡنَا مَوَٰلِيَ مِمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلۡوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبُونَۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ عَقَدَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡ فَـَٔاتُوهُمۡ نَصِيبَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدًا

33. To every one We have appointed heirs of what parents and near relatives leave behind. As to those with whom you have solemn pledges (i.e., brotherhood), give them their share (by will or bequest, etc.). Surely Allāh is a Witness over all things.

Ajeti: 34

ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بَعۡضَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُواْ مِنۡ أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡۚ فَٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ قَٰنِتَٰتٌ حَٰفِظَٰتٞ لِّلۡغَيۡبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ ٱللَّهُۚ وَٱلَّٰتِي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَٱهۡجُرُوهُنَّ فِي ٱلۡمَضَاجِعِ وَٱضۡرِبُوهُنَّۖ فَإِنۡ أَطَعۡنَكُمۡ فَلَا تَبۡغُواْ عَلَيۡهِنَّ سَبِيلًاۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيّٗا كَبِيرٗا

34. (Wives, love and submit to your husbands, for) men are in charge of women by (right) of what Allāh has given one over the other, and with what they (men) spend out of their wealth. The righteous wives are devoutly dutiful, guarding in (their husband’s) absence what Allāh would have them guard15. But those (wives) on whose part you fear desertion, (first) advice them (if they persist) forsake them in bed, and (should they persist) discipline them (gently, out of love)16; if they then obey you, do not seek a way against them. Indeed, Allāh is Most High, Most Great.

15. I.e., their chastity and their husband’s wealth and properties.
16. Muhammad, God's Messenger never hit anyone with his hand, nor a woman, nor a servant, except when he was fighting for the Cause of God ”.

Ajeti: 35

وَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ شِقَاقَ بَيۡنِهِمَا فَٱبۡعَثُواْ حَكَمٗا مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهِۦ وَحَكَمٗا مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَآ إِن يُرِيدَآ إِصۡلَٰحٗا يُوَفِّقِ ٱللَّهُ بَيۡنَهُمَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا خَبِيرٗا

35. If you fear a split between a wife and her husband, then send an arbiter from his family and an arbiter from her family. If they both want reconcilition, Allāh will effect harmony between them. Indeed, Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

Ajeti: 36

۞ وَٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُشۡرِكُواْ بِهِۦ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ إِحۡسَٰنٗا وَبِذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلۡجَارِ ذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡجَارِ ٱلۡجُنُبِ وَٱلصَّاحِبِ بِٱلۡجَنۢبِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخۡتَالٗا فَخُورًا

36. Worship Allāh alone and do not associate any thing with Him. Honor your parents, and do good to the relatives, orphans, the destitute, the near neighbor of (your) kin, the neighbor unrelated to you17, the companion at your side18, the (stranded) traveller19, and those whom your right hands possess. Allāh does not like him who is self-conceited, boastful.

17. The Prophet Muhammad(ﷺ) said: "Whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day, let him treat his neighbour well. Whoever believes in Allāh and Last Day, let him honor his guest. Whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day, let him say something good or else remain silent." The Prophet Mohammad also said: "Angel Gabriel advised me continuously to take care of the neighbor till I thought that Allāh is to make the neighbor an inheritor."
18. I.e., one’s wife or husband or friend.
19 .This also applies to the strangers and foreigners and alien residents belonging to a foreign country and nation living among us, we must deal with them with kindness and good treatment. We must show them love and mercy. Woe to anyone who withholds justice from the foreigners, the alien residents, the orphans or the widows.

Ajeti: 37

ٱلَّذِينَ يَبۡخَلُونَ وَيَأۡمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلۡبُخۡلِ وَيَكۡتُمُونَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦۗ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٗا مُّهِينٗا

37. Those who are niggardly and order people to be niggardly, and hide what Allāh has given them out of His bounty. We have prepared for the deniers a disgraceful torment.

Ajeti: 38

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ رِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۗ وَمَن يَكُنِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ لَهُۥ قَرِينٗا فَسَآءَ قَرِينٗا

38. Those who spend their wealth (in charity) to show off to people, but do not believe in Allāh nor in the Last Day (are Satan's associates). He whose associate is Satan, what an evil associate has he!

Ajeti: 39

وَمَاذَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ لَوۡ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ وَأَنفَقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمۡ عَلِيمًا

39. What (harm) would it have done them if they had believed in Allāh and the Last Day, and spent (in charity) of what Allāh had given them (of wealth)? For Allāh is ever Aware of them (and all that they do).

Ajeti: 40

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَظۡلِمُ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٖۖ وَإِن تَكُ حَسَنَةٗ يُضَٰعِفۡهَا وَيُؤۡتِ مِن لَّدُنۡهُ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

40. Indeed, Allāh does not do injustice, (even) as much as an atom’s weight; while if there is a good deed He multiplies it, and gives from Himself a great reward.

Ajeti: 41

فَكَيۡفَ إِذَا جِئۡنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةِۭ بِشَهِيدٖ وَجِئۡنَا بِكَ عَلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شَهِيدٗا

41.How will it be, then, when We bring from every people a witness, and bring you 'Muhammad' as a witness against them?

Ajeti: 42

يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَعَصَوُاْ ٱلرَّسُولَ لَوۡ تُسَوَّىٰ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَلَا يَكۡتُمُونَ ٱللَّهَ حَدِيثٗا

42. On that Day those who denied (the Truth) and disobeyed the messenger (Muhammad) will wish that the earth could cover them, and they will not hide from Allāh a 'single' statement.

Ajeti: 43

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَقۡرَبُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنتُمۡ سُكَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعۡلَمُواْ مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِي سَبِيلٍ حَتَّىٰ تَغۡتَسِلُواْۚ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرۡضَىٰٓ أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوۡ جَآءَ أَحَدٞ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡغَآئِطِ أَوۡ لَٰمَسۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمۡ تَجِدُواْ مَآءٗ فَتَيَمَّمُواْ صَعِيدٗا طَيِّبٗا فَٱمۡسَحُواْ بِوُجُوهِكُمۡ وَأَيۡدِيكُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا

43. O believers, approach not the prayer when you are in a state of drunkenness until you know (well) what you say20, nor when you have experienced a seminal discharge until after you have taken bath- unless (you are only) passing through (a prayer place). If you are sick, or on a journey, or one of you have defecated, or you have touched women21, and you cannot find water, then purify yourselves with clean soil and wipe your faces and your hands with it. Indeed, Allāh is All-Pardoning, All-Forgiving.

21. I.e., had carnal relations.

Ajeti: 44

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ نَصِيبٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ يَشۡتَرُونَ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن تَضِلُّواْ ٱلسَّبِيلَ

44. Have you not seen those (Jews) who were given a portion of the Scripture? They purchase misguidance and want that you should go astray from the (right) Way.

Ajeti: 45

وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِأَعۡدَآئِكُمۡۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَلِيّٗا وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ نَصِيرٗا

45. But Allāh knows best your enemies; Allāh is Enough as a Guardian, also Allāh is Enough as a Helper22.

22. You need to have no Lord, Savior or Helper other than Allāh, your Creator.

Ajeti: 46

مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلۡكَلِمَ عَن مَّوَاضِعِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ سَمِعۡنَا وَعَصَيۡنَا وَٱسۡمَعۡ غَيۡرَ مُسۡمَعٖ وَرَٰعِنَا لَيَّۢا بِأَلۡسِنَتِهِمۡ وَطَعۡنٗا فِي ٱلدِّينِۚ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَا وَٱسۡمَعۡ وَٱنظُرۡنَا لَكَانَ خَيۡرٗا لَّهُمۡ وَأَقۡوَمَ وَلَٰكِن لَّعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُفۡرِهِمۡ فَلَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

46. Among the Jewish (there are those who) alter the words from their places and say: ‘We hear and disobey,’ and ‘hear but be not heard,’ and ‘Raina,’ distorting (the word) with their tongues and defaming the religion. If they had said (instead): ‘We hear and we obey,’ and ‘heed,’ and ‘look at us,’ it would have been better for them and more upright. But Allāh has cursed them because of their faithlessness, so they do not believe except a little.

Ajeti: 47

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ ءَامِنُواْ بِمَا نَزَّلۡنَا مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا مَعَكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن نَّطۡمِسَ وُجُوهٗا فَنَرُدَّهَا عَلَىٰٓ أَدۡبَارِهَآ أَوۡ نَلۡعَنَهُمۡ كَمَا لَعَنَّآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلسَّبۡتِۚ وَكَانَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ مَفۡعُولًا

47. O you who have been given the Scripture (Jews and Christians), believe in that which We have revealed (of the Qur’an to Muhammad) confirming what you already have, before We obliterate faces and turn them backwards, or curse them as We cursed the violators of the Sabbath. The Command of Allāh is always executed.

Ajeti: 48

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغۡفِرُ أَن يُشۡرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغۡفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰٓ إِثۡمًا عَظِيمًا

48. Indeed, Allāh does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, but He forgives what is less than that to whom He wills. Whoever associates anything with Allāh, he has indeed committed a grave sin.

Ajeti: 49

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُزَكُّونَ أَنفُسَهُمۚ بَلِ ٱللَّهُ يُزَكِّي مَن يَشَآءُ وَلَا يُظۡلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا

49. Have you not seen those who attribute purity to themselves23? Rather, Allāh purifies whom He wills; and injustice is not done to them - (even) as much as the thread of a date stone.

23. Those are the Jews who say: “We are the children of Allāh and His beloved ones!”

Ajeti: 50

ٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ يَفۡتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَۖ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦٓ إِثۡمٗا مُّبِينًا

50. See how they invent a lie against Allāh, and that is enough as a manifest sin24.

24. By glorifying themselves in such a manner and claiming honour falsely. Do not be wise in your own eyes; rather fear Allāh with reverent awe and obedience to Him and His messenger, the Prophet Muhammad, and turn entirely away from evil.

Ajeti: 51

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ نَصِيبٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡجِبۡتِ وَٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ سَبِيلًا

51. Have you not seen those (Jews) to whom a portion of the Scripture has been given? They believe in superstition and false objects of worship25, and say about those who disbelieve (of the pagans): These are better guided in the path than those who believe (of the Muslims).

25. That is anything worshipped other than Allâh i.e. all the false deities, it may be idols, satan, graves, stone, sun, star, angel, saints, jinn or any humans.

Ajeti: 52

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۖ وَمَن يَلۡعَنِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ نَصِيرًا

52. Those (Jews) are the ones whom Allāh has cursed, and whomever Allāh curses you shall not find any helper for him.

Ajeti: 53

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ نَصِيبٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُلۡكِ فَإِذٗا لَّا يُؤۡتُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ نَقِيرًا

53. Or have they a share in 'Allah’s' Kingdom? Then they would not give to the people even (as much as) the speck of a date stone.

Ajeti: 54

أَمۡ يَحۡسُدُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَىٰ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦۖ فَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَآ ءَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مُّلۡكًا عَظِيمٗا

54. Or do they envy the people for what Allāh has given them of His bounty? We have given to Abraham’s house the Scripture and the Wisdom, and We gave them a grand kingdom (under David and Solomon).

Ajeti: 55

فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن صَدَّ عَنۡهُۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِجَهَنَّمَ سَعِيرًا

55. Of them (the Jews and the Christians) is he who believes in him (the Prophet Muhammad), and of them is he who turns away from him. Enough is the Hellfire for burning (the deniers).

Ajeti: 56

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا سَوۡفَ نُصۡلِيهِمۡ نَارٗا كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتۡ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلۡنَٰهُمۡ جُلُودًا غَيۡرَهَا لِيَذُوقُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابَۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا

56. Surely those who deny Our revelations, We shall make them enter a fire; every time their skins are thoroughly burned, We shall replace them for other skins, that they may taste the torment. Indeed, Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 57

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَنُدۡخِلُهُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۖ لَّهُمۡ فِيهَآ أَزۡوَٰجٞ مُّطَهَّرَةٞۖ وَنُدۡخِلُهُمۡ ظِلّٗا ظَلِيلًا

57. Those who believe and do righteous deeds, We shall admit them Gardens under which rivers flow, to abide therein forever. They shall have therein purified wives26, and We shall make them enter a deep shade.

26. Having no menses, stool, urine, etc.

Ajeti: 58

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُكُمۡ أَن تُؤَدُّواْ ٱلۡأَمَٰنَٰتِ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهَا وَإِذَا حَكَمۡتُم بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ أَن تَحۡكُمُواْ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُم بِهِۦٓۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعَۢا بَصِيرٗا

58. Allāh commands that you render back the trusts to those to whom they are due and that when you judge between people you judge with justice27. Excellent is what Allāh instructs you with. For Allāh is All-Seeing, All-Hearing.

27. Believers are instructed to give back what they have been entrusted with to its rightful owners: whole and without delay, and to be trustworthy and fair. They are called to pray for their leaders to be good and honest having strong moral principles, who has no lapses in integrity and are ideal leaders. The ideal leader is a person of justice and complete integrity, who defends the vulnerable, serves the needy, and stands against oppression. Such leaders their time in office is so refreshing, it’s like showers watering the earth, bringing prosperity to the land. The Prophet Muhammad is the greatest of all leaders and living example perfectly fulfilled such a role.

Ajeti: 59

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنكُمۡۖ فَإِن تَنَٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِي شَيۡءٖ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرٞ وَأَحۡسَنُ تَأۡوِيلًا

59. O believers, obey Allāh and obey the Messenger 'Muhammad' and those in authority from among you. If you dispute about anything, refer it back to Allāh and the Messenger, if you believe in Allāh and the Last Day. This is better and more suitable for a final determination.

Ajeti: 60

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَزۡعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمۡ ءَامَنُواْ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَحَاكَمُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَقَدۡ أُمِرُوٓاْ أَن يَكۡفُرُواْ بِهِۦۖ وَيُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَن يُضِلَّهُمۡ ضَلَٰلَۢا بَعِيدٗا

60. Have you not seen those (hypocrites) who pretend that they believe in what has been revealed to you 'Muhammad', and what was revealed before you? They want to summon one another to the judgment of Satan, though they were commanded to reject him. For Satan wants to lead them far astray.

Ajeti: 61

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ رَأَيۡتَ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنكَ صُدُودٗا

61. When they are told: "Come to (the Judgment of) what Allāh has revealed (of the Qur’an) and to the Messenger (Muhammad), you will see the hypocrites turning away from you with (utter) aversion."

Ajeti: 62

فَكَيۡفَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتۡهُم مُّصِيبَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ ثُمَّ جَآءُوكَ يَحۡلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَدۡنَآ إِلَّآ إِحۡسَٰنٗا وَتَوۡفِيقًا

62. But how will it be when calamity befalls them because of what their hands have sent forth (of sins)? Then they will come to you swearing by Allāh: "We did not intend (anything) but good and conciliation."

Ajeti: 63

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡلَمُ ٱللَّهُ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡهُمۡ وَعِظۡهُمۡ وَقُل لَّهُمۡ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ قَوۡلَۢا بَلِيغٗا

63. These are the ones of whom Allāh knows what is in their hearts; so turn away from them, and admonish them, and speak to them effective words concerning themselves.

Ajeti: 64

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ إِذ ظَّلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسۡتَغۡفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابٗا رَّحِيمٗا

64. We did not send any Messenger except that he should be obeyed by Allah’s Permission; and if they, when they have sinned against themselves, had come to you (Muhammad) and asked Allah’s Forgiveness, and the Messenger had (also) asked Forgiveness for them - they would have found Allāh Accepting of Repentance, Most Merciful.

Ajeti: 65

فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُواْ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ حَرَجٗا مِّمَّا قَضَيۡتَ وَيُسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمٗا

65. But no, by your Lord 'Allāh', they will not believe (truly) until they make you a judge concerning that which they dispute among themselves, and then do not find any resistance in their hearts as to what you command, and submit with entire submission.

Ajeti: 66

وَلَوۡ أَنَّا كَتَبۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَنِ ٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱخۡرُجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٞ مِّنۡهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ فَعَلُواْ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ لَكَانَ خَيۡرٗا لَّهُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ تَثۡبِيتٗا

66. If We had ordained for them (saying): ‘Slay (the guilty among) your folk or ‘Leave your homes28’, they would not have done it except a few of them; but should they do what they are admonished with, it would have certainly be better for them and best in strengthening (them in Faith);

28. For the sake of your religion as we ordained for the children of Israel.

Ajeti: 67

وَإِذٗا لَّأٓتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّن لَّدُنَّآ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

67. Then We would have certainly given them from Ourselves a great reward.

Ajeti: 68

وَلَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ صِرَٰطٗا مُّسۡتَقِيمٗا

68. And We would have guided them to a right Path.

Ajeti: 69

وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءِ وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَۚ وَحَسُنَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ رَفِيقٗا

69. Whoever obeys Allāh and the messenger (Muhammad), these will be with those upon whom Allāh has bestowed favors from among the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous. What excellent companions they are.

Ajeti: 70

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَضۡلُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ عَلِيمٗا

70. That is the Bounty29 from Allāh - Enough is Allāh as All-Knowing.

29. The rewards of obeying Allāh and His Messenger are plentiful both in this worldly life and in the Hereafter, not least being raised to the lofty status of Prophets and their worthy companions in Paradise.

Ajeti: 71

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ خُذُواْ حِذۡرَكُمۡ فَٱنفِرُواْ ثُبَاتٍ أَوِ ٱنفِرُواْ جَمِيعٗا

71. O believers, take your precaution and go forth in detachments or go forth all together (for the Cause of Allāh).

Ajeti: 72

وَإِنَّ مِنكُمۡ لَمَن لَّيُبَطِّئَنَّ فَإِنۡ أَصَٰبَتۡكُم مُّصِيبَةٞ قَالَ قَدۡ أَنۡعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيَّ إِذۡ لَمۡ أَكُن مَّعَهُمۡ شَهِيدٗا

72. But there is among you who would certainly hang back (from fighting for Allah’s Cause). If then a calamity befalls you, he says: "Indeed, Allāh bestowed His favor on me that I was not present with them."

Ajeti: 73

وَلَئِنۡ أَصَٰبَكُمۡ فَضۡلٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لَيَقُولَنَّ كَأَن لَّمۡ تَكُنۢ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُۥ مَوَدَّةٞ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ مَعَهُمۡ فَأَفُوزَ فَوۡزًا عَظِيمٗا

73. If bounty from Allāh comes to you, he would say, as if there had not been any ties of affection between you and him: "Would that I had been with them, then I should have attained a great good fortune."

Ajeti: 74

۞ فَلۡيُقَٰتِلۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشۡرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَمَن يُقَٰتِلۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَيُقۡتَلۡ أَوۡ يَغۡلِبۡ فَسَوۡفَ نُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

74. So let those (believers) who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight for the Cause of Allāh. Whoever fights for the Cause of Allāh and is killed or attains victory, We shall grant him a great Reward.

Ajeti: 75

وَمَا لَكُمۡ لَا تُقَٰتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلظَّالِمِ أَهۡلُهَا وَٱجۡعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيّٗا وَٱجۡعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا

75. What reason have you that you fight not for the Cause of Allāh and (for) the oppressed among men, women, and the children, who say: "Our Lord, take us out from this town of oppressive people, and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper.

Ajeti: 76

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱلطَّٰغُوتِ فَقَٰتِلُوٓاْ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۖ إِنَّ كَيۡدَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا

76. Those who believe fight for the Cause of Allāh, and those who deny (the Truth) fight for the cause of Satan. So fight the allies of Satan. For the plot of Satan is ever weak.

Ajeti: 77

أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمۡ كُفُّوٓاْ أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَخۡشَوۡنَ ٱلنَّاسَ كَخَشۡيَةِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡ أَشَدَّ خَشۡيَةٗۚ وَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبۡتَ عَلَيۡنَا ٱلۡقِتَالَ لَوۡلَآ أَخَّرۡتَنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ قَرِيبٖۗ قُلۡ مَتَٰعُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا قَلِيلٞ وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ لِّمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَلَا تُظۡلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا

77. Have you not seen those (Muslims) to whom it was said: Withhold your hands (from fighting)30, keep up the prayer and pay the poor-rate; but when fighting was ordained for them, at once a party of them (whose faith was weak) feared men as their fear of Allāh, or (even) with a greater fear, and said: "Our Lord, why have You ordained fighting for us? Would that you had granted us respite for a short period?" Say: "The provision of this world is short, and the Hereafter is better for him who guards against evil; and injustice will not be done to you, even (as much as) the thread of a date stone."

30. At the beginning they were asked to refrain from fighting, because they were not ready or in possession of the means to prevail, they were asked instead to first engage in a self disciplinary to prevail over their own weaknesses, by keeping up Prayers and dutifully giving out the prescribed alms.

Ajeti: 78

أَيۡنَمَا تَكُونُواْ يُدۡرِككُّمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ وَلَوۡ كُنتُمۡ فِي بُرُوجٖ مُّشَيَّدَةٖۗ وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ حَسَنَةٞ يَقُولُواْ هَٰذِهِۦ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَيِّئَةٞ يَقُولُواْ هَٰذِهِۦ مِنۡ عِندِكَۚ قُلۡ كُلّٞ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَالِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفۡقَهُونَ حَدِيثٗا

78. Wherever you may be, death will seize you, even if you are in lofty towers. If some good comes to them, they say: "This is from Allāh." If harm befalls them, they say: "This is from you 'Muhammad'." Say: "All is from Allāh." What is the matter with these people that they can hardly understand any statement?

Ajeti: 79

مَّآ أَصَابَكَ مِنۡ حَسَنَةٖ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَآ أَصَابَكَ مِن سَيِّئَةٖ فَمِن نَّفۡسِكَۚ وَأَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُولٗاۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدٗا

79. Whatever good comes to you it is from Allāh, and whatever harm befalls you, it is from yourself (as a result of your sins). We have sent you (Muhammad) to mankind as a messenger31. Allāh is Enough as a Witness.

31. Throughout His mission, Prophet Muhammad acted with a crystal-clear sense of His purpose to guide the people to the right Path. Eventually, all nations of earth would be blessed through his person, as the last and final messenger of God to take out the people from darknesses to light and give them insight to enable them to develop faith in their Lord. Insight implies wisdom, so that when man has developed the insight to see God's signs, when he has moulded his mind in such a way as to be able to understand the teachings of the Qur'an, a kind of intellectual light begins to shine within him. His cerebral level is raised to a point from where he is able to experience higher realities. In all matters he is able to arrive at the right conclusions as desired by God.
Prophet Muhammad strove hard to free people from all preoccupations except devotion to God, who would also be free from psychological complexities so that they might be capable of finding the spiritual sustenance placed by God in the universe for His devoted servants. Conveying the message of God, instructing the people in the Qur'an and wisdom and guiding them towards purifying their souls from polytheism and all kinds of sins was the mission of Prophet Muhammad.

Ajeti: 80

مَّن يُطِعِ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدۡ أَطَاعَ ٱللَّهَۖ وَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ فَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَفِيظٗا

80. Whoever obeys the messenger (Muhammad), has indeed obeyed Allah. Whoever turns away, then We have not sent you as a keeper over them32.

32. Muhammad, God's Messenger said, "Whoever obeys me, he obeys Allâh, and whoever disobeys me, he disobeys Allâh, and whoever obeys the ruler I appoint, he obeys me, and whoever disobey him, he disobeys me."

Ajeti: 81

وَيَقُولُونَ طَاعَةٞ فَإِذَا بَرَزُواْ مِنۡ عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طَآئِفَةٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي تَقُولُۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَكۡتُبُ مَا يُبَيِّتُونَۖ فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡهُمۡ وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

81. The 'hypocrites' say: "We obey you 'O prophet' ." But when they go out from your presence a group of them decide by night upon doing otherwise than what you say. But Allāh keeps record of what they scheme by night. So turn away from them and rely upon Allāh, for Allāh is Enough as a Trustee.

Ajeti: 82

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَۚ وَلَوۡ كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ غَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ لَوَجَدُواْ فِيهِ ٱخۡتِلَٰفٗا كَثِيرٗا

82. Do they not then reflect on the Qur’an? If it were from any other than Allāh, they would have found in it many discrepancies.

Ajeti: 83

وَإِذَا جَآءَهُمۡ أَمۡرٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡنِ أَوِ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ أَذَاعُواْ بِهِۦۖ وَلَوۡ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰٓ أُوْلِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنۡهُمۡ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡۗ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعۡتُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

83. When there comes to them news about (public) security or fear, they spread it around33. If they had referred it to the messenger and to those in authority among them, those among them whose task it is to investigate the matter would have known it. Were it not for the Favor of Allāh upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan except a few.

33. These are the blabbers, who are only too eager to spread whatever news comes their way aiming to stir up unrest.

Ajeti: 84

فَقَٰتِلۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ إِلَّا نَفۡسَكَۚ وَحَرِّضِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۖ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأۡسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۚ وَٱللَّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأۡسٗا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكِيلٗا

84. So fight for the Cause of Allāh; you are only responsible for your own self. Encourage the believers (to fight along with you), it may be that Allāh will restrain the evil might of the deniers - Allāh is Stronger in Might and Stronger in inflicting Retribution.

Ajeti: 85

مَّن يَشۡفَعۡ شَفَٰعَةً حَسَنَةٗ يَكُن لَّهُۥ نَصِيبٞ مِّنۡهَاۖ وَمَن يَشۡفَعۡ شَفَٰعَةٗ سَيِّئَةٗ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كِفۡلٞ مِّنۡهَاۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مُّقِيتٗا

85. Whoever intercedes for a good cause shall have a share of it34, but whoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a portion (burden) of it - for Allāh is Keeper over all things.

34. The person who helps others in time of need, will be rewarded handsomely for his good efforts.

Ajeti: 86

وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٖ فَحَيُّواْ بِأَحۡسَنَ مِنۡهَآ أَوۡ رُدُّوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ حَسِيبًا

86. When you are greeted with a greeting, greet with a better (greeting) than it or (at least) return it (in a like manner)35. Allāh is the Reckoner of all things.

35. The Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever meets his brother, let him greet him with the greeting of Islam, that is Asalamu Alaikum 'peace be with you'. If a tree or a wall comes between them, then he meets him again, let him greet with him by Asalamu Alaikum." This means that when you meet someone, you should greet them with the greeting of Islam. Then, if you become separated briefly, or an object, such as a tree, car, or column comes between the two of you, you should repeat the greeting once you’re reunited.
The same goes for leaving a gathering and returning shortly afterwards. One day the Prophet instructed a man to pray again as he hadn’t prayed properly, so the man left the group to pray close by, then returned and gave greeting again.

Ajeti: 87

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ لَيَجۡمَعَنَّكُمۡ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِۗ وَمَنۡ أَصۡدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حَدِيثٗا

87. Allāh, there is no god (worthy of worship) except Him. He will certainly gather you together on the Day of Resurrection, there is no doubt about it. Who is more true in word than Allāh?

Ajeti: 88

۞ فَمَا لَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ فِئَتَيۡنِ وَٱللَّهُ أَرۡكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوٓاْۚ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهۡدُواْ مَنۡ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُۖ وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلٗا

88. What is the matter with you, then, that you have become two parties about the hypocrites36, while Allāh has made them return (to disbelief) for what they have earned (of sins)? Do you wish to guide him whom Allāh has caused to go astray37. Whomever Allāh leaves astray, never will you find for him a way (of guidance).

36. Who retreated from the battle of Uhud, some saying, ‘let us slay them’, while others said, ‘no!’.
37. Because of his arrogance and persistency in sin.

Ajeti: 89

وَدُّواْ لَوۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءٗۖ فَلَا تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَ حَتَّىٰ يُهَاجِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَخُذُوهُمۡ وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ حَيۡثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمۡۖ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ وَلِيّٗا وَلَا نَصِيرًا

89. They 'the hypocrites' wish that you should deny (Allāh and His messenger Muhammad) as they have denied, so that you may be (all) alike. So do not take them for your allies until they emigrate for the Sake of Allāh. But if they turn back 'to open hostility', then seize them and kill them wherever you may find them, and do not take any of them as an ally or helper.

Ajeti: 90

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٌ أَوۡ جَآءُوكُمۡ حَصِرَتۡ صُدُورُهُمۡ أَن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ أَوۡ يُقَٰتِلُواْ قَوۡمَهُمۡۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَلَقَٰتَلُوكُمۡۚ فَإِنِ ٱعۡتَزَلُوكُمۡ فَلَمۡ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ وَأَلۡقَوۡاْ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبِيلٗا

90. Except those who seek refuge with a people between yourselves and whom there is a treaty38, or those who come to you, their hearts strained of fighting you, or fighting their own people. If Allāh had willed, He would have given them power over you, so that they should have certainly fought you39. So if they stay away from you and do not fight against you and offer you peace, then Allāh has not given you a way against them.

38. Believers are encouraged to honour their pledges.
39. Along with your enemies, but Allāh did not will it and turned them away from you.

Ajeti: 91

سَتَجِدُونَ ءَاخَرِينَ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَأۡمَنُوكُمۡ وَيَأۡمَنُواْ قَوۡمَهُمۡ كُلَّ مَا رُدُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ أُرۡكِسُواْ فِيهَاۚ فَإِن لَّمۡ يَعۡتَزِلُوكُمۡ وَيُلۡقُوٓاْ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ وَيَكُفُّوٓاْ أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ فَخُذُوهُمۡ وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ حَيۡثُ ثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡۚ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكُمۡ جَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٗا مُّبِينٗا

91. You will find others (among these hypocrites) who would like to be safe from you (by manifesting belief before you) as well as safe from their own people (through unbelief) who whenever they are tempted back to idolatry, fall into it. So if they do not stay away from you, and (do not) offer you peace, and restrain their hands, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them; and against these We have given you a clear authority.

Ajeti: 92

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنٍ أَن يَقۡتُلَ مُؤۡمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَـٔٗاۚ وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤۡمِنًا خَطَـٔٗا فَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٖ مُّؤۡمِنَةٖ وَدِيَةٞ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُواْۚ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوۡمٍ عَدُوّٖ لَّكُمۡ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٖ مُّؤۡمِنَةٖۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَٰقٞ فَدِيَةٞ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ وَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٖ مُّؤۡمِنَةٖۖ فَمَن لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ شَهۡرَيۡنِ مُتَتَابِعَيۡنِ تَوۡبَةٗ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

92. It is not for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. Whoever kills a believer by mistake he should free a believing slave, and blood-money should be paid to his family, unless they remit it as charity. But if he is from a people hostile to you and he is a believer, the freeing of a believing soul (suffices). If he is from a people between you and whom there is a covenant, the blood-money should be paid to his family along with the freeing of a believing soul. He who cannot find (a person to free) should fast for two months successively - an atonement from Allāh. For Allāh is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 93

وَمَن يَقۡتُلۡ مُؤۡمِنٗا مُّتَعَمِّدٗا فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ جَهَنَّمُ خَٰلِدٗا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ وَلَعَنَهُۥ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُۥ عَذَابًا عَظِيمٗا

93. Whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Gehinnom (Hell); he will abide therein forever, and the Wrath of Allāh is upon him and His curse and He has prepared for him a grievous torment40.

40. Muhammad, God's Messenger said, "A faithful believer remains at liberty regarding his religion unless he commits murder by killing somebody."

Ajeti: 94

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا ضَرَبۡتُمۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُواْ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَنۡ أَلۡقَىٰٓ إِلَيۡكُمُ ٱلسَّلَٰمَ لَسۡتَ مُؤۡمِنٗا تَبۡتَغُونَ عَرَضَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٞۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كُنتُم مِّن قَبۡلُ فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٗا

94. O believers, when you go to war for the Cause of Allāh, then make proper investigation41, and do not say to any one who offers you greetings of peace: “You are not a believer,” seeking the goods of this world’s life, for with Allāh there are abundant gains. You too were such before, then Allāh conferred His Favor (Guidance) on you. So make investigation. Indeed, Allāh is All-Aware of what you do.

41. Before you label anyone as a disbeliever.

Ajeti: 95

لَّا يَسۡتَوِي ٱلۡقَٰعِدُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ غَيۡرُ أُوْلِي ٱلضَّرَرِ وَٱلۡمُجَٰهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِهِمۡۚ فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُجَٰهِدِينَ بِأَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِهِمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡقَٰعِدِينَ دَرَجَةٗۚ وَكُلّٗا وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ وَفَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُجَٰهِدِينَ عَلَى ٱلۡقَٰعِدِينَ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

95. Not equal are those of the believers who remain (at home) except the disabled, and those who strive hard in Allah’s Way with their wealth and their lives. Allāh has made those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives to excel those who remain (at home) a (high) degree. To each Allāh has promised a good reward; but Allāh has favored those who strive and fight above those who remain (at home) with a great Reward:

Ajeti: 96

دَرَجَٰتٖ مِّنۡهُ وَمَغۡفِرَةٗ وَرَحۡمَةٗۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمًا

96. (High) degrees42 from Him and forgiveness and mercy, for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

42. I.e., stations one higher than the other in honour.

Ajeti: 97

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ قَالُواْ فِيمَ كُنتُمۡۖ قَالُواْ كُنَّا مُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ قَالُوٓاْ أَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ أَرۡضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةٗ فَتُهَاجِرُواْ فِيهَاۚ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَسَآءَتۡ مَصِيرًا

97. Those whom the angels cause to die while they are unjust to their own selves43, they (the angels) will ask: "In what condition were you?" They will reply: "We were oppressed in the earth." They will ask: "Was not Allah’s earth spacious for you to emigrate therein?" So these it is whose home is the Hellfire, and it is an evil refuge.

43. By preferring to remain among the disbelievers, in an environment where a Muslim is unable to practice his religion freely, although they have the means to emigrate.

Ajeti: 98

إِلَّا ٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنِ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةٗ وَلَا يَهۡتَدُونَ سَبِيلٗا

98. Except helpless men, women, and children who have not in their power the means nor can they find a way out;

Ajeti: 99

فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَعۡفُوَ عَنۡهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورٗا

99. For these, it may be that Allāh will pardon them. For Allāh is Ever-Pardoning, All-Forgiving.

Ajeti: 100

۞ وَمَن يُهَاجِرۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يَجِدۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُرَٰغَمٗا كَثِيرٗا وَسَعَةٗۚ وَمَن يَخۡرُجۡ مِنۢ بَيۡتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ يُدۡرِكۡهُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ فَقَدۡ وَقَعَ أَجۡرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

100. Whoever emigrates for the Cause of Allāh, he will find in the earth many a place of refuge and abundant resources. Whoever goes forth from his house as an emigrant to Allāh and His messenger, and then death overtakes him, his reward is indeed with Allāh, for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Ajeti: 101

وَإِذَا ضَرَبۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَقۡصُرُواْ مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ إِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَن يَفۡتِنَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كَانُواْ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٗا مُّبِينٗا

101. When you are travelling through the land, there is no blame on you to shorten the prayer44, if you fear that those who deny (the Truth) may attack you. The deniers are an open enemy to you.

44. The four rakʿah prayers are shortened to two rakʿahs. The tradition of the Prophet and his companions illustrates that fear is not a condition for this allowance, merely travel.

Ajeti: 102

وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمۡ فَأَقَمۡتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلۡتَقُمۡ طَآئِفَةٞ مِّنۡهُم مَّعَكَ وَلۡيَأۡخُذُوٓاْ أَسۡلِحَتَهُمۡۖ فَإِذَا سَجَدُواْ فَلۡيَكُونُواْ مِن وَرَآئِكُمۡ وَلۡتَأۡتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخۡرَىٰ لَمۡ يُصَلُّواْ فَلۡيُصَلُّواْ مَعَكَ وَلۡيَأۡخُذُواْ حِذۡرَهُمۡ وَأَسۡلِحَتَهُمۡۗ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ تَغۡفُلُونَ عَنۡ أَسۡلِحَتِكُمۡ وَأَمۡتِعَتِكُمۡ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيۡكُم مَّيۡلَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِن كَانَ بِكُمۡ أَذٗى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوۡ كُنتُم مَّرۡضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓاْ أَسۡلِحَتَكُمۡۖ وَخُذُواْ حِذۡرَكُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٗا مُّهِينٗا

102. When you are among them (the army in the battle-field) and lead them in prayer, let a party of them stand up with you, and let them take their arms; then when they have prostrated themselves let them go to your rear, and let another party who have not prayed come forward and pray with you, and let them take their precautions and their arms; (for) those who deny (the Truth) desire that you may be careless of your arms and your belongings, so that they may then turn upon you with a sudden united attack. But there is no blame on you, if you are bothered with rain or if you are sick, that you lay down your arms, and take your precautions. Indeed, Allāh has prepared a disgraceful torment for the deniers (of the Truth, opposers of Peace).

Ajeti: 103

فَإِذَا قَضَيۡتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمٗا وَقُعُودٗا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمۡۚ فَإِذَا ٱطۡمَأۡنَنتُمۡ فَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتۡ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ كِتَٰبٗا مَّوۡقُوتٗا

103. When you have finished the prayer, praise Allāh standing, sitting, or 'lying' on your sides45. When you are secure (from danger) keep up the prayer46. The prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed times47.

45. Believers are enjoined to remember Allāh and mention Him at all times, because it nurtures vigilance of Him in their hearts and draws them nearer to Him. This is even more so in times of trouble and fighting because such remembrance helps boost spiritual strength which is more important than relying on material power alone.
46. In the normal prescriped form and at their proper times.
47. After the ascension of the Prophet Muhammad to the heavens and returning back to Mecca, angel Gabriel came and stood near the door of the Ka’bah ten times in two days. Gabriel came at the starting time of each prayer, while on the other day, he came at the ending time of each prayer. This was done in order to teach Prophet Muhammad and the believers the method of prayer as well as to set the duration of the five obligatory prayers. Prophet Muhammad said: “Gabriel led me in prayer at the House (i.e., the Ka’bah). He prayed the noon prayer with me at mid-day when the sun had passed the meridian; he prayed the afternoon prayer with me when the sun was still bright and when the shadow of everything was as long as itself; he prayed the sunset prayer with me after sunset; he prayed the evening prayer with me when the twilight had ended, and he prayed the dawn prayer with me from the beginning of down while it was still dark to sunrise. The Prophet Muhammad said, “If anyone oversleeps and misses a Prayer, he should do it as soon as he wakes up or remembers it.”

Ajeti: 104

وَلَا تَهِنُواْ فِي ٱبۡتِغَآءِ ٱلۡقَوۡمِۖ إِن تَكُونُواْ تَأۡلَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمۡ يَأۡلَمُونَ كَمَا تَأۡلَمُونَۖ وَتَرۡجُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَرۡجُونَۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا

104. Do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy. If you suffer pain, they (too) suffer pain as you suffer, but you hope from Allāh
what they do not. Allāh is ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 105

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِتَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِمَآ أَرَىٰكَ ٱللَّهُۚ وَلَا تَكُن لِّلۡخَآئِنِينَ خَصِيمٗا

105. We have sent down the Book (Qur’an) to you (Muhammad) in truth that you may judge between the people by means of that which Allāh has taught you. Do not be an advocate on behalf of the treacherous.

Ajeti: 106

وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرِ ٱللَّهَۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

106. Seek forgiveness from Allāh - for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Ajeti: 107

وَلَا تُجَٰدِلۡ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡتَانُونَ أَنفُسَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ خَوَّانًا أَثِيمٗا

107. Do not plead on behalf of those who betray themselves. Indeed, Allāh does not like the one who is treacherous, sinful.

Ajeti: 108

يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمۡ إِذۡ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرۡضَىٰ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا

108. They conceal (their evil intentions and deeds) from the people, but they cannot conceal them from Allāh, and He is with them48 when they spend the night in words which displease Him. For Allāh encompasses what they do.

48. I.e., He knows well.

Ajeti: 109

هَٰٓأَنتُمۡ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَٰدَلۡتُمۡ عَنۡهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَمَن يُجَٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَكِيلٗا

109. Here you are - those who (may) plead for them in this world’s life, but who will plead for them with Allāh on the Day of Resurrection, or who will be their representative?

Ajeti: 110

وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ سُوٓءًا أَوۡ يَظۡلِمۡ نَفۡسَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَسۡتَغۡفِرِ ٱللَّهَ يَجِدِ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

110. Whoever commits evil (major sins) or wrongs himself (by committing lesser sins) then seeks Allah’s forgiveness, he will find Allāh All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Ajeti: 111

وَمَن يَكۡسِبۡ إِثۡمٗا فَإِنَّمَا يَكۡسِبُهُۥ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

111. But whoever earns a sin, he only earns it against himself. For Allāh is ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 112

وَمَن يَكۡسِبۡ خَطِيٓـَٔةً أَوۡ إِثۡمٗا ثُمَّ يَرۡمِ بِهِۦ بَرِيٓـٔٗا فَقَدِ ٱحۡتَمَلَ بُهۡتَٰنٗا وَإِثۡمٗا مُّبِينٗا

112. Whoever commits an offence or a sin, then blames it on an innocent, he will certainly bear the guilt of a slander and a manifest sin.

Ajeti: 113

وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكَ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمۡۖ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَيۡءٖۚ وَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمۡ تَكُن تَعۡلَمُۚ وَكَانَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكَ عَظِيمٗا

113. Were it not for Allah’s grace upon you 'Muhammad' and His mercy; a group of them had certainly resolved to mislead you, but they mislead none but their own selves. They shall not harm you at all. Allāh has revealed to you 'Muhammad' the Book (Qur’an) and Wisdom, and taught you what you did not know. The Grace of Allāh upon you 'Muhammad' is ever great.

Ajeti: 114

۞ لَّا خَيۡرَ فِي كَثِيرٖ مِّن نَّجۡوَىٰهُمۡ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوۡ مَعۡرُوفٍ أَوۡ إِصۡلَٰحِۭ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ مَرۡضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ فَسَوۡفَ نُؤۡتِيهِ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

114. There is no good in most of their secret counsels except who enjoins charity or goodness or reconciliation between people. Whoever does this seeking Allah’s Pleasure, We shall give him a great reward.

Ajeti: 115

وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعۡ غَيۡرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصۡلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَسَآءَتۡ مَصِيرًا

115. Whoever opposes the Messenger (Muhammad) after the 'right' guidance has become clear to him, and follows other than the path of the believers, We shall keep him in that path which he has chosen, and enter him into Gehinnom (Hell). What an evil destination.

Ajeti: 116

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغۡفِرُ أَن يُشۡرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغۡفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلَۢا بَعِيدًا

116. Indeed, Allāh does not forgive associating partners with Him 'in worship', and He forgives what is lesser than that to whom He wills. Whoever associates anything with Allāh - he indeed has strayed far away.

Ajeti: 117

إِن يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ إِنَٰثٗا وَإِن يَدۡعُونَ إِلَّا شَيۡطَٰنٗا مَّرِيدٗا

117. They (the pagans) do not invoke besides Him anything but female 'idols', they only pray to a rebellious satan 'demon'.

Ajeti: 118

لَّعَنَهُ ٱللَّهُۘ وَقَالَ لَأَتَّخِذَنَّ مِنۡ عِبَادِكَ نَصِيبٗا مَّفۡرُوضٗا

118. Allāh has cursed him; and he (Satan) said: "I will certainly take of your slaves (of mankind and jinn) an appointed portion:

Ajeti: 119

وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمۡ وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمۡ وَلَأٓمُرَنَّهُمۡ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ ءَاذَانَ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ وَلَأٓمُرَنَّهُمۡ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلۡقَ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَن يَتَّخِذِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ وَلِيّٗا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ خَسِرَ خُسۡرَانٗا مُّبِينٗا

119. I will lead them astray, and excite in them vain desires, and order them so that they will slit the ears of the cattle, 'sacrificing for the idols', and will order them to change Allah’s creation49. Whoever takes Satan for a guardian rather than Allāh, they indeed will suffer a manifest loss.

49. Muhammad, the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed those who make any tattoo marks on themselves, or who file their teeth or who pluck eyebrows, changing the creation of Allāh, both are cursed the one who does it and the one to whom it is done." Tattoos, plucking the eyebrows and filing the teeth – come under the heading of changing the creation of God. You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves.Tattoos and other types of cuttings in your bodies are not allowed in Islam, in fact you are commanded to abstain from doing so.

Ajeti: 120

يَعِدُهُمۡ وَيُمَنِّيهِمۡۖ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا

120. Satan gives them false promises and excites in them vain desires. But Satan does not promise them except delusion.

Ajeti: 121

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ عَنۡهَا مَحِيصٗا

121. These are the ones whose abode is Gehinnom (Hell), and they will find no way of escape from it.

Ajeti: 122

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَنُدۡخِلُهُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۖ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٗاۚ وَمَنۡ أَصۡدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ قِيلٗا

122. But those who believe and do righteous deeds, We shall admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, to abide therein forever. Allah's Promise is true. Who is truer in speech than Allāh?

Ajeti: 123

لَّيۡسَ بِأَمَانِيِّكُمۡ وَلَآ أَمَانِيِّ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗ مَن يَعۡمَلۡ سُوٓءٗا يُجۡزَ بِهِۦ وَلَا يَجِدۡ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيّٗا وَلَا نَصِيرٗا

123. (This) will not be in accordance with your vain desires nor in accordance with the vain desires of the followers of the (past) Scripture (Jews and Christians). Whoever does evil50, he will be requited for it51, and besides Allāh he will find for himself neither a protector nor a helper.

50. I.e., major sins such as associating anything in worship with Allāh, murder, sexual immorality, theft, taking and giving interest (usury), drinking alcohol, or disobeying the Prophet Muhammad in religious commandments, etc.
51. Salvation and attaining good things in both this life and the life to come is earned through firm, unwavering Belief in Allāh, worshiping Him in accordance with the dictates of Islam and following the rightly-oriented creed of Abraham and his son, the prophet Muhammad, God's last and final messenger, not through wishful thinking.

Ajeti: 124

وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِن ذَكَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَدۡخُلُونَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظۡلَمُونَ نَقِيرٗا

124. Whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female52, and is a believer - these will enter Paradise and they will not be dealt with unjustly, even as much as the speck on a date stone.

52. Islam makes no distinction between men and women in matters of faith. Nor is there any distinction in what they are commanded to carry out.

Ajeti: 125

وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ دِينٗا مِّمَّنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفٗاۗ وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ خَلِيلٗا

125. Who is better in religion (and way of life) than he who submits his face entirely to Allāh while being a doer of good, and follows (Islam) the creed of Abraham, inclining towards truth? For Allāh took Abraham as an intimate friend.

Ajeti: 126

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مُّحِيطٗا

126. To Allāh belongs all that is in the heavens and all is in the earth. Allah, is ever, of all things, Encompassing.

Ajeti: 127

وَيَسۡتَفۡتُونَكَ فِي ٱلنِّسَآءِۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفۡتِيكُمۡ فِيهِنَّ وَمَا يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ فِي يَتَٰمَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ ٱلَّٰتِي لَا تُؤۡتُونَهُنَّ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُنَّ وَتَرۡغَبُونَ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ وَٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنِ وَأَن تَقُومُواْ لِلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۚ وَمَا تَفۡعَلُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٗا

127. They seek from you 'Muhammad' a (legal) ruling concerning women53. Say: "Allāh gives you a ruling about them, and that which is recited to you in the Book about female orphans whom you do not give what is appointed for them while you desire to marry them, and concerning the weak among children, and that you should deal towards orphans with justice." Whatever good you do - Allāh knows it.

53. A believing household has to be built on preserving the dignity and ensuring the full rights of all its parties, lest any lack of respect for these leads to discord and disunion, and where the more helpless members of the family (and society at large) are the most affected. Being the basic building block of a strong, close-knit society, the family’s wholesomeness has to be preserved at all costs.

Ajeti: 128

وَإِنِ ٱمۡرَأَةٌ خَافَتۡ مِنۢ بَعۡلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوۡ إِعۡرَاضٗا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِمَآ أَن يُصۡلِحَا بَيۡنَهُمَا صُلۡحٗاۚ وَٱلصُّلۡحُ خَيۡرٞۗ وَأُحۡضِرَتِ ٱلۡأَنفُسُ ٱلشُّحَّۚ وَإِن تُحۡسِنُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٗا

128. If a woman fears ill treatment or desertion on the part of her husband, there is no blame on them, if they effect a reconciliation between them, and reconciliation is better, even though human souls are swayed by greed. But if you do good and guard against evil, Allāh is certainly All-Aware of what you do.

Ajeti: 129

وَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعُوٓاْ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتُمۡۖ فَلَا تَمِيلُواْ كُلَّ ٱلۡمَيۡلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَٱلۡمُعَلَّقَةِۚ وَإِن تُصۡلِحُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

129. Yet you 'men' will never be able to do complete and pure justice (in emotional feeling) between wives, even you do your best54, but be not disinclined (from one) with total disinclination, so that you leave her hanging. But if you effect a reconciliation and guard against evil, Allah is certainly All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

54. A man who has more than one wife will inevitably prefer, in his own heart, one over another. However, men are reminded to be mindful of Allāh and to be moderate and treat their wives on an equal footing. It is mandatory for a man to be absolutely even-handed in securing each wife her given marital rights, or else he will do better taking on only one wife. If a man has more than one wife, he has to treat them equally, if they are free [i.e., not slaves], whether they are Muslims or from among the People of the Book [i.e., Jewish or Christian]. If he does not treat them equally, then he has disobeyed Allāh and he has to make it up to the one whom he wronged. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Whoever has two wives and leans towards (i.e. favours) one of them (over the other), will come on the Day of Resurrection with half of his body leaning.” What is meant by this “leaning” is favouring in terms of actions; a man will not be taken to task for the inclination of his heart if he treats (his wives) equally in practical terms. 

Ajeti: 130

وَإِن يَتَفَرَّقَا يُغۡنِ ٱللَّهُ كُلّٗا مِّن سَعَتِهِۦۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعًا حَكِيمٗا

130. But if they choose to separate, Allāh will enrich each of them of His abundance, for Allāh is Ample-Giving, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 131

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَلَقَدۡ وَصَّيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَإِيَّاكُمۡ أَنِ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۚ وَإِن تَكۡفُرُواْ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَنِيًّا حَمِيدٗا

131. To Allāh belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. We have advised those who were given the Scripture before you and (We advise) you (too) to fear Allāh and shun evil. But if you deny (the Truth), 'know that' to Allāh belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And in fact Allāh is Rich, free of all needs, Praiseworthy.

Ajeti: 132

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا

132. To Allāh belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Allāh is Enough as Trustee55.

55. Wakīl (Al-Wakīl) is one of the most Beautiful Names of Allāh. It means, the Sustainer of the Universe, its Preserver, the Dispenser of its affairs with His Knowledge and Wisdom, and the Witness of everything, Glory be His. This Name entails that Allāh is the Most Trustworthy, the Dependable Advocate of perfect resolution.

Ajeti: 133

إِن يَشَأۡ يُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَيَأۡتِ بِـَٔاخَرِينَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ قَدِيرٗا

133. If He wills, He can make you pass away, o people, and bring others (in your place); for Allāh has full Power to do this.

Ajeti: 134

مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ ثَوَابُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعَۢا بَصِيرٗا

134. Whoever seeks the reward of this world, then with Allāh is the reward of this world and the Hereafter56. For Allāh is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.

56. People who are heedless of Allāh are too eager to gain that which is worldly and think not of the life to come. Here, Allāh reminds them that it is with Him that the gains of not only this worldly life but also that of the Hereafter life. All the more reason, then, for them to pay Him heed.

Ajeti: 135

۞ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُونُواْ قَوَّٰمِينَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَوِ ٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَۚ إِن يَكُنۡ غَنِيًّا أَوۡ فَقِيرٗا فَٱللَّهُ أَوۡلَىٰ بِهِمَاۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْۚ وَإِن تَلۡوُۥٓاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٗا

135. O believers, be maintainers of justice57, bearers of witness for Allah’s Sake, though it may be against your own selves or (your) parents or near relatives; whether one is rich or poor, for Allāh is more worthy of both. So follow not (personal) inclination, lest you deviate. Should you distort your witness or refuse to give it, 'know that' Allāh is All-Aware of what you do58.

57. This reinforces the main principle on which the believing community is built: justice to all.
58. Prophet Muhammad was asked about the grave sins. He said, They are:
a) To join others in worship with Allâh.
b) To be undutiful to one’s parents.
c) To kill a person (which Allâh has forbidden to be killed i.e.murder).
d) And to give a false witness.

Ajeti: 136

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ ءَامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلَّذِي نَزَّلَ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ مِن قَبۡلُۚ وَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلَۢا بَعِيدًا

136.O believers, believe 'with perseverance' in Allāh, His messenger 'Muhammad', the Book (Qur’an) which He has revealed to His messenger and the Scriptures which He revealed before. For whoever denies Allāh, His angels, scriptures, messengers, and the Last Day, he has indeed strayed far away (from the right path).

Ajeti: 137

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ثُمَّ كَفَرُواْ ثُمَّ ءَامَنُواْ ثُمَّ كَفَرُواْ ثُمَّ ٱزۡدَادُواْ كُفۡرٗا لَّمۡ يَكُنِ ٱللَّهُ لِيَغۡفِرَ لَهُمۡ وَلَا لِيَهۡدِيَهُمۡ سَبِيلَۢا

137. Those who believe then deny (the Truth), then believe and again deny, then increase in denial, never will Allāh forgive them nor guide them to the (right) Path.

Ajeti: 138

بَشِّرِ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

138. Tell to the hypocrites that they shall have a painful torment:

Ajeti: 139

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۚ أَيَبۡتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعٗا

139. Those who take the deniers for their allies rather than the believers. Do they seek honor from them? Let them know that all honor (power, glory) belongs to Allāh59.

59. Being the source of all power and honor, Allāh grants them to whom He wills.

Ajeti: 140

وَقَدۡ نَزَّلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَنۡ إِذَا سَمِعۡتُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يُكۡفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسۡتَهۡزَأُ بِهَا فَلَا تَقۡعُدُواْ مَعَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُواْ فِي حَدِيثٍ غَيۡرِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمۡ إِذٗا مِّثۡلُهُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ جَامِعُ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ جَمِيعًا

140. He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear Allah’s Verses denied in and mocked at, do not sit with them until they enter into some other discourse; or else you would be like them60. Allāh will certainly gather the hypocrites and the deniers all together in Gehinnom (Hell).

60. In this world, by participation in their blasphemy, and in the next, where you will share their torment. Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.

Ajeti: 141

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَرَبَّصُونَ بِكُمۡ فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمۡ فَتۡحٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوٓاْ أَلَمۡ نَكُن مَّعَكُمۡ وَإِن كَانَ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ نَصِيبٞ قَالُوٓاْ أَلَمۡ نَسۡتَحۡوِذۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَنَمۡنَعۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۚ فَٱللَّهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ وَلَن يَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا

141. Those 'hypocrites' wait and watch about you, then if you have a victory from Allāh they say: "Were we not with you?" If there is a chance (of victory) for the deniers, they say: "Did we not help you win, and protect you from the believers?" So Allāh will Judge between (all of) you on the Day of Resurrection, and never will Allāh give the deniers a way (of spiritual supremacy as opposed to temporal supremacy) against the believers.

Ajeti: 142

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَٰدِعُهُمۡ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

142. The hypocrites seek to deceive Allāh, and He will recompense their deceit to them. Whenever they stand up for the prayer they stand up with laziness; they do it only to be seen of people and do not mention Allāh except a little61.

61. This is related to their engagement in the remembrance of Allāh during prayers; they do not mention Allāh with their tongues, their hearts and body parts are not humbled, and their minds are wandering. This is because what is in their hearts is not to please Allāh, but rather to please the people.

Ajeti: 143

مُّذَبۡذَبِينَ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَلَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۚ وَمَن يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلٗا

143. Wavering in between, neither belonging to these (believers) nor to those (deniers)62. Whoever Allāh leaves astray, never will you find for them a Way (of Guidance).

62. The hypocrites live in a state of perpetual doubt and constant perplexity, so they are always experiencing a state of dilemma.

Ajeti: 144

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۚ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَجۡعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٗا مُّبِينًا

144. O believers, do not take the deniers for your allies rather than the believers. Do you want to give Allāh a clear case against yourselves?

Ajeti: 145

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ فِي ٱلدَّرۡكِ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُمۡ نَصِيرًا

145. The hypocrites will certainly be in the lowest depths (grade) of the Fire, and you will never find for them a helper63.

63. Hell is a place of divine judgment on sinners. It has severe degrees of punishment, dependent on a number of factors in one’s life. These factors include the extent to which a person has abandoned himself to sin, the extent of one’s influence on other people towards sin, and the amount of knowledge of the truth that one had and rejected. This is not to say that hell will be less than perfect torment for some, but the Qur'an indicates that some will have a greater capacity for suffering or that some will bear a fiercer measure of the wrath of God upon them.

Ajeti: 146

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ وَأَصۡلَحُواْ وَٱعۡتَصَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَأَخۡلَصُواْ دِينَهُمۡ لِلَّهِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۖ وَسَوۡفَ يُؤۡتِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا

146. Except those who repent, live righteously, hold fast to Allāh 'God', and are sincere in their deeds to Allāh only, for these are with the believers. Allāh will soon grant the believers a great Reward.

Ajeti: 147

مَّا يَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمٗا

147. Why should Allāh punish you if you are grateful and faithful? For Allāh is ever Appreciative64, All-Knowing.

64. Of your repentance, self-discipline and good deeds, rewarding for them abundantly.

Ajeti: 148

۞ لَّا يُحِبُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ إِلَّا مَن ظُلِمَۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا

148. Allāh does not like offensive words65 to be said in public (or private) unless (it be) by one to whom wrong has been done66. Allāh is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

65. I.e., foul mouthing, being profane, hurling accusations, slandering, backbiting, etc.
66. Such a person is allowed to speak out in the court against a wrongdoer.

Ajeti: 149

إِن تُبۡدُواْ خَيۡرًا أَوۡ تُخۡفُوهُ أَوۡ تَعۡفُواْ عَن سُوٓءٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوّٗا قَدِيرًا

149. If you do good openly or do it in secret or pardon a wrong (done to yourselves)67, 'know that' Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Powerful.

67. This is mainly addressed to the one who is wronged.

Ajeti: 150

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤۡمِنُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَنَكۡفُرُ بِبَعۡضٖ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُواْ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا

150. Those who deny Allāh or His messengers and want to make a distinction between Allāh and His messengers (in their Message) or say: "We believe in some and deny others," and want to adopt a way (of misguidance to follow) in between68.

68. Thinking that such a ‘compromise’ would put them on the road that leads to God’s Pleasure and salvation. Had they really believed in some Messengers of Allāh and listened to them with due care and attention, they would naturally have believed in the rest of the Messengers.

Ajeti: 151

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ حَقّٗاۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٗا مُّهِينٗا

151. These are the deniers in truth. We have prepared for the deniers a disgraceful torment.

Ajeti: 152

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَمۡ يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ سَوۡفَ يُؤۡتِيهِمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورٗا رَّحِيمٗا

152. But those who believe in Allāh and His messengers69, and do not make a distinction between any of them - Allāh will grant them their rewards - for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

69. Whose last is the Prophet Muhammad.

Ajeti: 153

يَسۡـَٔلُكَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ كِتَٰبٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ فَقَدۡ سَأَلُواْ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكۡبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓاْ أَرِنَا ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ بِظُلۡمِهِمۡۚ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُواْ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوۡنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَۚ وَءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلۡطَٰنٗا مُّبِينٗا

153.The followers of the past scripture ask you to bring down to them a Writing (on a paper) from the heaven (in proof of your Prophethood). They had asked Moses even greater than that; for they said: "Show us Allāh manifestly". So a thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the golden calf (for a god), after clear Signs had come to them, yet We pardoned that, and We gave to Moses a clear Authority.

Ajeti: 154

وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَٰقِهِمۡ وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمُ ٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡبَابَ سُجَّدٗا وَقُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لَا تَعۡدُواْ فِي ٱلسَّبۡتِ وَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظٗا

154. We raised the mountain (Sinai) over them for (their refusal of the Covenant) and We said to them: "Enter the gate (of Jerusalem) bowing humbly70"; and said to them: 'Do not transgress on the Sabbath, and We took from them a firm Covenant.

70. Prophet Muhammad said: "It was said to the children of Israel, ‘Enter the gate (of the town) bowing with humility and say: ‘Repentance’, but they changed the word and entered crawling on their buttocks and said: ‘A wheat grain in the hair’." They said so just to ridicule Allah’s order, as they were disobedient to Him. So Allāh punished them severely, most probably with a plague.

Ajeti: 155

فَبِمَا نَقۡضِهِم مِّيثَٰقَهُمۡ وَكُفۡرِهِم بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتۡلِهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيۡرِ حَقّٖ وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ قُلُوبُنَا غُلۡفُۢۚ بَلۡ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهَا بِكُفۡرِهِمۡ فَلَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا

155. (We cursed the Jews) for their breaking of the Covenant, their (persisting in) denying the revelations of Allāh, their killing the Prophets unjustly and their saying our hearts are wrapped (against reception of guidance). Rather, Allāh set a seal upon them due to their denial; so little do they believe.

Ajeti: 156

وَبِكُفۡرِهِمۡ وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ بُهۡتَٰنًا عَظِيمٗا

156. And for their (the Jews) denial (of the messengers of God), and uttering against Mary a great slander (accusing her of fornication).

Ajeti: 157

وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ إِنَّا قَتَلۡنَا ٱلۡمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمۡۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّنۡهُۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينَۢا

157. And their saying (boastfully): "We (Jews) killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, God's messenger." But they neither killed nor crucified him - it was only made to appear like so to them71. Indeed, those who differ regarding him are doubtful about him; they have no real knowledge of him, they only making assumptions. They certainly did not kill him.

71. I.e., another person was made to assume his likeness, so they mistook him for Jesus.

Ajeti: 158

بَل رَّفَعَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيۡهِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا

158. Rather, Allāh raised him (Jesus) up (by body and spirit) to Himself (and delivered him from the Jews) - for Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 159

وَإِن مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ إِلَّا لَيُؤۡمِنَنَّ بِهِۦ قَبۡلَ مَوۡتِهِۦۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ شَهِيدٗا

159. There is none of the followers of the (earlier) Scripture (Jews and Christians) but most certainly believe in him before his death72, and on the Day of Resurrection he - (Jesus) will be a witness against them.

72. Before his death," has two interpretations: before Jesus’ death after his descent from the heavens, or a Jew’s or a Christian’s death, at the time of the appearance of the angel of death when he will realize that Jesus was only a simple person, a prophet, and a messenger of Allāh, and had no share in divinity. Allāh is Divine, not the Messiah.

Ajeti: 160

فَبِظُلۡمٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيِّبَٰتٍ أُحِلَّتۡ لَهُمۡ وَبِصَدِّهِمۡ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَثِيرٗا

160. For the wrongdoing of the Jews, We made unlawful to them certain good foods which had been lawful for them, and for their hindering many (people) from God’s Way.

Ajeti: 161

وَأَخۡذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ وَقَدۡ نُهُواْ عَنۡهُ وَأَكۡلِهِمۡ أَمۡوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمٗا

161. And for their taking usury (interest) though they were forbidden from taking it, and their devouring people's money unjustly. We have prepared for the deniers among them a painful torment.

Ajeti: 162

لَّٰكِنِ ٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِي ٱلۡعِلۡمِ مِنۡهُمۡ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلِكَۚ وَٱلۡمُقِيمِينَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ سَنُؤۡتِيهِمۡ أَجۡرًا عَظِيمًا

162. But those firm in knowledge among them and the believers who believe in what has been revealed to you (Muhammad) and what was revealed before you, who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and believe in Allāh and the Last Day - these We shall give a great reward.

Ajeti: 163

۞ إِنَّآ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ كَمَآ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ نُوحٖ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦۚ وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَعِيسَىٰ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُونُسَ وَهَٰرُونَ وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ وَءَاتَيۡنَا دَاوُۥدَ زَبُورٗا

163. We have certainly revealed to you (Muhammad) as We revealed to Noah, and the Prophets after him. We also revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, (the Prophets of) his descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and We gave to David the Psalms.

Ajeti: 164

وَرُسُلٗا قَدۡ قَصَصۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَيۡكَ مِن قَبۡلُ وَرُسُلٗا لَّمۡ نَقۡصُصۡهُمۡ عَلَيۡكَۚ وَكَلَّمَ ٱللَّهُ مُوسَىٰ تَكۡلِيمٗا

164. (We sent) messengers about whom We have related their stories to you before, and messengers about whom We have not related their stories to you. And Allāh spoke to Moses directly.

Ajeti: 165

رُّسُلٗا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةُۢ بَعۡدَ ٱلرُّسُلِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمٗا

165. (These) messengers were sent as the givers of good news73 and as warners74,  so that people should have no plea against Allāh after the coming of the messengers. For Allāh is ever All-Mighty, All-Wise.

73. Of eternal Bliss for the believers.
74. Of grievous Chastisement from God for the deniers.

Ajeti: 166

لَّٰكِنِ ٱللَّهُ يَشۡهَدُ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ إِلَيۡكَۖ أَنزَلَهُۥ بِعِلۡمِهِۦۖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَشۡهَدُونَۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًا

166. But Allāh testifies what He has revealed to you 'Muhammad' He has revealed it with His knowledge, and the angels also testifies. Allāh is Enough as a Witness.

Ajeti: 167

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ قَدۡ ضَلُّواْ ضَلَٰلَۢا بَعِيدًا

167. Those who deny and hinder (people) from Allah’s Way, they indeed have strayed far, far away (from the Truth).

Ajeti: 168

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَظَلَمُواْ لَمۡ يَكُنِ ٱللَّهُ لِيَغۡفِرَ لَهُمۡ وَلَا لِيَهۡدِيَهُمۡ طَرِيقًا

168. Indeed, those who persist in denial and act unjustly (by hindering people from Allah’s Way), never will Allāh forgive them, nor guide them to any way;

Ajeti: 169

إِلَّا طَرِيقَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدٗاۚ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٗا

169. Except the way of Gehinnom (Hell), to abide therein forever. That is easy for Allāh.

Ajeti: 170

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ مِن رَّبِّكُمۡ فَـَٔامِنُواْ خَيۡرٗا لَّكُمۡۚ وَإِن تَكۡفُرُواْ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمٗا

170. O people, indeed, the messenger 'Muhammad' has come to you with the Truth from 'Allāh' your Lord, so believe (in him) for your own good. But if you deny, 'know that' to Allāh belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. For Allāh is ever All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Ajeti: 171

يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِي دِينِكُمۡ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَقَّۚ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ أَلۡقَىٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ وَرُوحٞ مِّنۡهُۖ فَـَٔامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦۖ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ ثَلَٰثَةٌۚ ٱنتَهُواْ خَيۡرٗا لَّكُمۡۚ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّهُ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۖ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥٓ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٞۘ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلٗا

171. O followers of the (past) Scripture (Jews and Christians), do not go to extremes in your faith (and deeds)75, and do not say anything about Allāh 'God' except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, is no more than a messenger of Allāh and His word which He conveyed to Mary, and a spirit (created by a Command) from Him. So believe in Allāh and His messengers, and do not say (God is) a trinity76. Desist, it is better for you. Allāh is the only One true God; far be it from His Glory that He should have a son (or daughters). To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Allāh is Enough as Trustee.

75. Such as attributing divine qualaties to certain creations of Allāh or revering them excessively.The Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: ''Do not exaggerate in praising me as Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a slave. So, call me the slave of God and His messenger." Out of his concern for pristine monotheism and fear that his followers would lapse into associating partners with Allāh like previous nations, the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) warned Muslims against exaggerating in praising him, as Christians did concerning Jesus by giving him divine attributes and calling him the son of God, thus falling into idolatry. Describe me as the salve of God and the carrier of His message, just as He, Exalted be He, described me. Do not transgress the limits by raising me to a station of divinity or lordship as the Christians did with regard to Jesus. Divinity is exclusive to Allāh alone.
76. The Christians claim that Jesus is the "son of God", "God the son", "God incarnate", or simply; the second "person" in the unholy Trinity. This necessarily reduces God "the Father" to being one third of the Trinity, as the Qur'an states in 5:73. In truth, nowhere in the Gospels does Jesus make such claims for himself nor, for that matter, is there any mention of the Trinity. In fact, Jesus always spoke of himself as the "son of man" and the servant of God.

Ajeti: 172

لَّن يَسۡتَنكِفَ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبۡدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَلَا ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَۚ وَمَن يَسۡتَنكِفۡ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيَسۡتَكۡبِرۡ فَسَيَحۡشُرُهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ جَمِيعٗا

172. The Messiah (Jesus Christ) would never disdain to be a servant of Allāh, nor (the holy spirit and) the angels who draw near to Allah (through prayer and worship and full submission). For whosoever disdains Allah’s worship, and is arrogant - He will gather them all together to Himself.

Ajeti: 173

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَنكَفُواْ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ فَيُعَذِّبُهُمۡ عَذَابًا أَلِيمٗا وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيّٗا وَلَا نَصِيرٗا

173. Then as for those who believe and do righteous deeds, Allāh will pay them fully their rewards and give them more out of His bounty. But those who disdain Allah’s worship and are arrogant, He will chastise them with a painful Chastisement; they will not find for themselves besides Allāh any guardian or helper (intercessor).

Ajeti: 174

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَكُم بُرۡهَٰنٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ نُورٗا مُّبِينٗا

174. O people, there has come to you manifest Proof (i. e., Muhammad) from your Lord 'Allāh', and we have sent to you a clear Light 'this Qur’an'.

Ajeti: 175

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱعۡتَصَمُواْ بِهِۦ فَسَيُدۡخِلُهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَةٖ مِّنۡهُ وَفَضۡلٖ وَيَهۡدِيهِمۡ إِلَيۡهِ صِرَٰطٗا مُّسۡتَقِيمٗا

175. As for those who believe in Allāh and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into His mercy and grace77 and guide them to Himself on a straight Path.

77. I.e., Paradise.

Ajeti: 176

يَسۡتَفۡتُونَكَ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفۡتِيكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡكَلَٰلَةِۚ إِنِ ٱمۡرُؤٌاْ هَلَكَ لَيۡسَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٞ وَلَهُۥٓ أُخۡتٞ فَلَهَا نِصۡفُ مَا تَرَكَۚ وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَآ إِن لَّمۡ يَكُن لَّهَا وَلَدٞۚ فَإِن كَانَتَا ٱثۡنَتَيۡنِ فَلَهُمَا ٱلثُّلُثَانِ مِمَّا تَرَكَۚ وَإِن كَانُوٓاْ إِخۡوَةٗ رِّجَالٗا وَنِسَآءٗ فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثۡلُ حَظِّ ٱلۡأُنثَيَيۡنِۗ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ أَن تَضِلُّواْۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمُۢ

176. They ask you 'Muhammad' for a 'legal' ruling. Say: "Allāh gives you a ruling concerning the person who has neither parents nor offspring." If a man dies and he has no child but he has a sister, she shall inherit half of what he leaves, and he shall be her heir if she has no child. But if there are two (sisters), they shall inherit two-thirds of what he leaves. If there are siblings, males and females, then the male shall inherit the like of the portion of two females78. Allāh makes (matters) clear to you, lest you err - for Allāh has 'Perfect' Knowledge of all things.

78. This verse relates to siblings from the father's side or from both parents, whereas in Verse 12 in this chapter it concerned those from the mother's side alone.
