164. In the creation of the heavens and the earth, the alternation of the night and day, the ships that sail in the sea with that which benefits the people, the water which Allāh sends down from the sky reviving thereby the earth after its death, the spreading all (kinds of) animals therein, the directing of winds and the clouds made subservient for service between the sky and the earth are certainly Signs for a people who understand.
165. And yet among the people are those who take others as equals to Allāh, they love (and adore) them as they should love (and adore) Allāh. But those who believe (in Allāh and His messenger Muhammad) are stronger in love for Allāh53. If those who commit iniquity (by associating others with Allāh) would certainly realize that all power belongs to Allah entirely and that Allah is indeed severe in 'His' torment.
53. Muhammad, God's messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever loves for the sake of God, hates for the sake of God, gives for the sake of God, and withholds for the sake of God has perfected the faith.”
Whoever loves for the sake of God and hates for the sake of God, and befriends for the sake of God and shows enmity
for the sake of God, would get God’s closeness. Without abiding by this, no one can get the real taste (sweetness) of Faith though he may have been a frequent offerer of prayer and fasts. Today people keep relationship, and love only for some worldly reason but this will not provide them any benefit on the Day of Judgement.
167. Those who followed (the falsehood) will say: "If we only had another chance to return 'to the world', so we would have disown them as they have disowned us." Thus will Allāh show them their deeds to be intense regret to them, and they are never to emerge from the Hellfire.
