Al-Feel

1 : 105

أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ

Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the people of the Elephant^[1]?

[1] The army of Abrahah al-Ashram was accompanied by a huge elephant who came with the intention of demolishing the Kaʿba.

2 : 105

أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ

Did He not turn their scheme into a total loss^[2]?

[2] Leading them to perish.

3 : 105

وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ

He sent against them swarms of birds,

4 : 105

تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ

pelting them with stones of baked clay,

5 : 105

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ

leaving them like chewed-up chaff.
