۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُكُمۡ أَن تُؤَدُّواْ ٱلۡأَمَٰنَٰتِ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهَا وَإِذَا حَكَمۡتُم بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ أَن تَحۡكُمُواْ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُم بِهِۦٓۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعَۢا بَصِيرٗا
(58) [897]Indeed Allah commands you that you should hand over trusts[898] to their ˹rightful˺ owners and should you judge among people[899], judge fairly. Exalted indeed is what Allah exhorts you to—verily Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
[897] To be trustworthy and fair are two great traits that all Believers need to carry. This is, in a way, an allusion to those who did not pass fair judgement when they declared that Deniers are more guided than Believers; they betrayed their trust (cf. al-Rāzī, Riḍā).
