21. And those who do not expect to meet Us, said: "Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or 'why' do we not see (Allāh) our Lord?" They are really too arrogant within themselves and have rebelled a great rebellion.
22. On the Day they see the angels10, there will be no good news on that Day for the guilty, and they will say: "Absolutely forbidden for youl11."
10. I.e., at the time of death.
11. None will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who says: "laa ilaaha illal Laah," (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh).
23. And We shall proceed to what they (the disbelievers) have done of any (good) deed, and make them as scattered dust12.
12. As it lacked all sincerity and belief in the Oneness of God - Islamic Monotheism.
24. The occupants of Paradise on that Day will be in better settlement and better resting-place.
25. And the Day when the sky will split open with (emerging) clouds, and the angels will be sent down, a successive descending.
26. The Kingdom on that Day will rightly belong to (Allāh alone) the Most Compassionate, and it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers.
27. And (beware of) the Day the wicked will bite his hands (in regret), saying: "Oh, Would that I had taken a way along with the messenger (Muhammad).

28. Oh, woe to me! Would that I had not taken so- and-so as a friend.
29. Indeed, he led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur’an) after it had come to me; for Satan is ever a deserter to man (in the Hour of need).
30. And the messenger12 will say: "Lord, (some of) my people have abandoned this Qur’an.
12. i.e., the Prophet Muhammad
31. Thus We have made for every prophet an enemy from among the guilty. Yet enough is your Lord (Allāh) as a guide and helper13.
13. The Prophet Muhammad when he was rejected and persecuted by the deniers, he prayed to His Lord, Allāh, saying: "To You, my Lord, I complain of my weakness,
lack of support and the humiliation I am made to receive. Most Compassionate and Merciful God, Allāh. You are the Lord of the weak, and you are my Lord. To whom do You leave me? To a distant person who receives me with hostility? Or to an enemy You have given power over me? As long as you are not displeased with me, I do not care what I face. I would, however, be much happier with Your mercy. I seek refuge in the light of Your face by which all darkness is dispelled and both this life and the life to come are put in their right course against incurring your wrath or being the subject of your anger. To You I submit (O Allah), until I earn Your pleasure. Everything is powerless without your support".
32. And those who disbelieve (in the Truth) said: "Why has not the Qur’an been sent down to him all at once? Thus (it is revealed), that We may strengthen your heart by it. And We have recited (spaced) it (with distinct) recitation (in stages)14."
14. It was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in 23 years.
