Forgiving your enemies means showing kindness to those who oppose, mistreat, or harm you. It's a call to forgive without conditions, irrespective of how they treat you personally. This does not equate to pacifism, as Muslims are still expected to defend the innocent and speak the truth without hate. And that is why come after this in other chapters of the Qur’an the ordainment of Jihâd - fighting for God’s cause against the evil forces.
