At-Tāriq

వచనం: 1

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

1. By the sky and the night comer.

వచనం: 2

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

2. And how do you know what the night comer is?

వచనం: 3

ٱلنَّجۡمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

3. (It is) the star of piercing brightness;

వచనం: 4

إِن كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٞ

4. There is no soul but over it is a keeper¹.

1. I.e., angels in charge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds.

వచనం: 5

فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

5. Let man reflect from what he is created -

వచనం: 6

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٖ دَافِقٖ

6. He is created from an ejected drop of fluid,

వచనం: 7

يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ ٱلصُّلۡبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ

7. Which comes out of the backbone and ribs.

వచనం: 8

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجۡعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٞ

8. Allah is Able to resurrect him (after his death, for Judgment).

వచనం: 9

يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ

9. On the Day when all secrets are exposed (examined and judged),

వచనం: 10

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٖ وَلَا نَاصِرٖ

10. Man (i.e., the denier) will have no power, nor any helper.

వచనం: 11

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجۡعِ

11. By the sky ever revolving.

వచనం: 12

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدۡعِ

12. And by the earth ever bursting (with the growth of vegetation).

వచనం: 13

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلٞ فَصۡلٞ

13. Indeed, this Qur’an is a decisive Word,

వచనం: 14

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلۡهَزۡلِ

14. It is not idle talk (to disbelieve in).

వచనం: 15

إِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗا

15. They (the deniers) plot every evil plan,

వచనం: 16

وَأَكِيدُ كَيۡدٗا

16. But I (Allah) too plan against them.

వచనం: 17

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدَۢا

17. So bear with the deniers; give them respite for a while².

2. I.e., Do not be in haste in seeking their punishment.
