8. Those who believe and do righteous deeds, they will certainly have a reward never to be cut off.

15. As for (the people of) ‘Aad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: "Who is mightier in strength than us?" Did they not see that Allah Who created them is mightier than them in strength, and they used to reject Our revelations.
16. So We sent upon them a furious wind in days of evil omen (for them), to make them taste the disgracing torment in this worldly life; but certainly the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped.
17. As for Thamud, We guided them, but they preferred blindness over guidance, so the thunderbolt of disgracing torment seized them for what they used to earn.

20. Until when they come to it (the Hellfire), their hearing, sights and skins will testify against them as to what they used to do.
21. They will say to their skins: "Why have you testified against us?" They will say: "Allah Who makes everything speak has made us speak, and He created you at first, and to Him you are (all) returned."
22. You did not (think) to hide (your evil deeds) from your hearing, sights and skins lest they testify against you, but you thought that Allah did not know most of what you were doing (of evil deeds).
23. That was your (evil) thought which you entertained about (Allah) your Lord. It has brought you down into destruction. Thus, you are now utterly lost.
24. Even if they endure in patience, the eternal Fire will still be their Home, and if they ask to appease (Allah), they will not be allowed to appease.
25. We have appointed for them companions³ so they have made fair-seeming to them what is before them and what is behind them (of their sins), and the Word (the Decree of Allah) proved true against them - among the nations of the jinn and men that have passed on before them - that they are certainly losers.
3. In the world, among the sinful jinn and men.
26. Those who deny (the Truth of Islam) say: "Do not listen to the Qur’an and make a clamor therein, perhaps you may prevail."
27. But We shall certainly make those who deny (the Truth) taste a severe Torment, and We shall certainly requite them according to the worst of what they used to do (of evil).
28. This is the requital of the enemies of Allah - the Fire; for them therein will be the eternal Home - a (fit) recompense for their rejecting Our revelations.
29. Those who denied will say: "(O Allah Our) Lord, show us those who led us astray from among the jinn and men that we may trample them under our feet so that they be of the lowest."
30. Those who say: "Our Sovereign Lord  is Allah, then remain steadfast (to their belief of Islam), the angels descend upon them (at the time of their death), saying: "Fear not, nor grieve, but receive good news of Paradise which you were promised."
31. We (the angels) are your guardians in this world’s life and in the Hereafter, and for you therein (the Paradise) is all that your inner-selves desire, and for you therein is all that you may ask for:

32. A hospitable welcome from One All-Forgiving, Most Merciful (Allah).
33. Who is better in speech than he who invites (people) to (the Way of) Allah while he himself does (what is) right (and just), and says: "I am a Muslim."
34. Virtue and evil are not equal. Repel (evil) with deed that is better⁴, and thereupon the one whom between you and him was enmity (will become) as though he were a close friend⁵.
4. Allâh commands the believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to pardon and forgive and pray to those who mistreat them.
5. Prayer opens ourselves, our feelings, and our relationships with others to Allah, calling Him to bring His perspective into it all. The act of submitting our will and feelings to Him in prayer changes our hearts, slowly but surely. No wonder Allah's call to love our enemies is bound up tightly with a call to prayer: “Pray for those who mistreat you.”
35. But none can attain this except those who are patient; and none can attain this except one having a great portion of good.
36. If a whisper from Satan tries to turn you away⁶, then seek refuge in Allah. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
6. Or stir in you anger or lust or any evil thought.
37. Among (Allah’s) Signs are the night, day, sun, and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them - if you truly worship Him.
38. But if they are too proud (to do so), then those (angels) with (Allah) your Lord glorify Him during the night and the day, and never are they tired.
39. Among Allah’s signs is that you see the earth still, but when We send down on it water, it stirs (to life) and grows (of greenery). He Who gives it life is the Giver of life to the dead. He has full Power over all things.
40. Those who deviate from the right Way concerning Our verses are not hidden from Us. Is he then who is cast into the eternal Fire better, or he who comes safe on the Day of Judgment? Do what you like. He (Allah) is Ever-Seeing of what you do.
41. Those who deny the Reminder (the Qur’an) when it comes to them (they are losers), for it is certainly a Mighty Book⁷:

42. Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it. (It is) sent down from (Allah, Who is) All-Wise, Praiseworthy.
43. Nothing is said to you (Muhammad) except what was already said to the messengers (of Allah) before you⁸. Your Lord (Allah) is certainly All-Forgiving, but stern in His retribution.
8. When people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Allah (God). Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. If you are not familiar with the history of the prophets, you will not do well when you suffer any kind of slander or persecution in Allah’s Cause.
44. Had We sent this Qur’an in a non-Arabic language, they would certainly have said: "Why are not its Verses well expounded (in our language)? A foreign (language) and (the messenger) an Arab? Say: "It is a guide and a healing⁹ for the believers. As for those who do not believe, there is a deafness in their ears and it is obscure to them. these are called from a far-off place¹⁰.
9. The Qur’an includes both curing and healing. Curing wounds, fevers, and diseases. But to become part of the Qur’an, part of the community of God’s people, part of the mosque's people. That is healing. Healing is hard work. It means being open to Islam. It means being open to Allah (God). It means, first and foremost, acknowledging that you need Allah. Healing means learning to live with what can’t be cured. Sometimes, healing means accepting that things can’t be fixed, and accepting that you are a beloved servant of God even still. Healing also means reaching out to other people. Even the people you don’t want to. It means building community and love and acceptance even with people you don’t like or understand. It means being willing to be honest, even if that means facing the parts of yourself and others that aren’t so nice. But there can be healing even in the midst of pain, and grief, and illness. There can be love and renewal even in the midst of brokenness. There can be hope in the midst of loss. There can be community even when the world tries to isolate us. And when we reach out, when we comfort people who are sick, and bring food to those who grieve, and are willing to be honest and compassionate with ourselves and others, and be there for people even when there’s no quick fix or easy answer; when we do that, we are part of God’s healing. We are God’s 'hands' in the world.
10. So they neither hear the call nor understand it.
45. We gave Moses the Scripture (Torah), but it was differed about. Had not a Word already gone forth from (Allah) your Lord, Judgment would certainly have been given between them. They are certainly in a disqueting doubt about it (the Qur’an).
46. Whoever does good, it is for his own benefit, and whoever does evil, it is against it. Your Lord (Allah) is not in the least unjust to His slaves (of mankind and jinn).
47. To Allah (alone, learned men) refer the knowledge of the Hour (of Doom) and there comes not forth any of the fruit from their coverings, nor does a female bear, nor does she give birth except with Allah’s knowledge. On the Day when He will call them, where are (those whom you considered) My partners? They will say: "We declare to You, none of us are a witness (to that immense falsehood)."
