155. We shall try you with a little of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives, and crops. So give good news to the patient50,
50. Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive much rewards and favors, which Allāh has promised to those who are patient during hardships.
When you meet with various trials consider it all joy, knowing as you do that this tested quality of your faith produces endurance. The various trial you face in life will put your faith to the test. But if you endure patiently the results are positive. You will gain more faith and a stronger relationship with Almighty Allāh.
158. Indeed, Safa and Marwah51 are among the indications of God’s (Love)52; so whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House (the Ka’bah in Makkah), or performs Umrah, there is no blame on him if he goes round them both (seven times). Whoever willingly does good deed (in obedience to Allāh), then Allah is Most Appreciative, All-Knowing.
51. Names of two small mountains in Makkah. They are reminders of God’s Love as Allāh settled Ismael and his mother Hagar in Mecca, near which they had found relief and water at the Well of Zamzam. Ismail is associated with the construction of the Ka'aba and considered the ancestor to prophet Muhammad.
52. That He hears your prayers and forgives your sins, if you come to Him with pure heart full of submission, free of polytheism, hypocrisy, and arrogance.
159. Those who hide the clear proofs and the guidance that We sent down after We made it clear for the people in the Book, these are they whom Allāh shall curse, and those who curse (among Allah's creatures) shall curse them (too).
160. Except they who repent and live righteously and make manifest (the Truth they concealed), these are they to whom I (Allāh) turn to (mercifully); for I am the Accepter of Repentance, the Most Merciful.
161. Indeed, those who deny (God and His Messenger Muhammad) and die while they are deniers, these are they on whom is the Curse of God, the angels and all of mankind;
