46. Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the ever-lasting good deeds are better with your Lord (Allah) in reward, and better in hope21.
21. Referring to all the deeds which please Allah, God Almighty; be they the five daily Prayers, or the words of Remembrance of Allah, because, unlike the transient adornment of life, they are ‘everlasting’ for their doers, and ‘good’ because they are carried out in a manner that pleases Allah. Muhammed, God's messenger (ﷺ), said: “Subḥānallāh (Glory be to Allah), al-ḥamdu lillāh (all gratitude be to Allah), lā Ilāha illal lāh (there is no god but Allah) and Allāhu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) are among the everlasting good deeds.”
