[64]. Both men and women are born of each other and are looked upon equally.
We are not of those who turn back, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. We are not of those who lose courage, or abandon the path of Islam. We endure trials, continue trusting Allāh, and as a result preserve our souls and gain salvation and eternal life.
[65]. The Qur’an teaches us to remain patient in the face of life’s trials and tribulations, as well as in our dealings with others. It encourages us to adorn ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience when interacting with people. We are reminded to be patient even with those who may be difficult or challenging to love.
[66]. This also includes the idea of ‘tying up’ one’s mounts at the frontiers, guarding the borders against enemy attack.
