ആയത്ത്: 38

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةٗ طَيِّبَةًۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

38. There did Zachariah pray to his Lord (Allāh), saying: "O Lord, grant me from You a good offspring. You are the Hearer of prayer."

ആയത്ത്: 39

فَنَادَتۡهُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٞ يُصَلِّي فِي ٱلۡمِحۡرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحۡيَىٰ مُصَدِّقَۢا بِكَلِمَةٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدٗا وَحَصُورٗا وَنَبِيّٗا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

39. So the angels called him while he standing praying in the sanctuary: "That Allāh gives you the good news of Yahya (John) confirming the Word from Allāh13, honorable, chaste and a Prophet from among the righteous."

13. The ‘Word of Allāh ’ is Jesus who was conceived by Mary through Allah’s Word 'Be' and he was.

ആയത്ത്: 40

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَٰمٞ وَقَدۡ بَلَغَنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ وَٱمۡرَأَتِي عَاقِرٞۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ

40. He14 said: "Lord 'Allāh', how can I have a son when old age has already come upon me, and my wife is barren?" (The angel) said: "Thus Allāh does what He wills."

14. Zachariah did not address the angel or ask him for anything but rather, being fully cognizant that Allāh is ever near and answering of Prayers, directed his Prayers to Allāh and not the intermediary.

ആയത്ത്: 41

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجۡعَل لِّيٓ ءَايَةٗۖ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمۡزٗاۗ وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرٗا وَسَبِّحۡ بِٱلۡعَشِيِّ وَٱلۡإِبۡكَٰرِ

41. (Zachariah) said, "Lord 'Allāh', make for me a Sign (that it is Divine revelation). He said: "Your Sign is that you shall not speak to the people for three days except by gestures."Remember (Allāh) your Lord much and glorify Him in the evening and the morning

ആയത്ത്: 42

وَإِذۡ قَالَتِ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرۡيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصۡطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

42. "Mention" when the angels said: "O Mary, Allāh has indeed chosen you, purified you (from all unrighteousness), and chosen you above the women of the world."

ആയത്ത്: 43

يَٰمَرۡيَمُ ٱقۡنُتِي لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسۡجُدِي وَٱرۡكَعِي مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ

43. O Mary, be devoutly obedient to 'Allāh' your Lord, prostrate yourself to Him, and bow down with those who bow down.

ആയത്ത്: 44

ذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيۡكَۚ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيۡهِمۡ إِذۡ يُلۡقُونَ أَقۡلَٰمَهُمۡ أَيُّهُمۡ يَكۡفُلُ مَرۡيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيۡهِمۡ إِذۡ يَخۡتَصِمُونَ

44. That is of the news relating to the unseen that We reveal to you (Muhammad). You were not with them when they cast their pens (to decide) which of them would take custody of Mary, nor were you there when they argued 'about it'.

ആയത്ത്: 45

إِذۡ قَالَتِ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرۡيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٖ مِّنۡهُ ٱسۡمُهُ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ وَجِيهٗا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ

45. When the angels said: "Mary, indeed, Allāh gives you good news of a Word from Him15 (of one) whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, worthy of regard in this world and the Hereafter, and of those who are drawn near to Allāh.

15. Jesus was not conceived by any human act of procreation but rather, like Adam, through Allah’s commanding Word: Be! Thus he is called “the Word of Allāh ”.
