[14]. The day break, the sun, the moon and the stars are among the many cosmic signs that need to be contemplated and pondered upon to lead to believing in The Oneness of God; that there is only one God, Allāh, and that Prophet Muhammad is His last and final messenger. Monotheism further refers to the nature of God—that he is not composed, not triune god, but One and only diety who has no partners.
The stars are not only for navigation but also a sign of divine wisdom and order. Those who truly “know” see in them evidence of the Creator’s guidance both in the physical world and in spiritual understanding. Allah created these stars for three purposes:
(a) as adornment for the heaven,
(b) as missiles against the devils,
(c) and as signs by which people are guided.
Whoever interprets them otherwise has erred, wasted his effort, and taken upon himself what he has no knowledge of.
