وَلَوۡ أَنَّ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ لَفَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم بَرَكَٰتٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُواْ فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
96. If only the people of the towns had believed [21] and guarded themselves against evil, We would have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth. But they rejected [the truth], so We seized them [with punishment] for the sins they used to commit.
[21]. Followed the messengers of God that were sent to them.

:
7
أَفَأَمِنَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأۡتِيَهُم بَأۡسُنَا بَيَٰتٗا وَهُمۡ نَآئِمُونَ
97. Do the people of the towns then feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them by night, while they sleep?

أَوَأَمِنَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ أَن يَأۡتِيَهُم بَأۡسُنَا ضُحٗى وَهُمۡ يَلۡعَبُونَ
98. Do the people of the towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them in the forenoon while they play?

أَفَأَمِنُواْ مَكۡرَ ٱللَّهِۚ فَلَا يَأۡمَنُ مَكۡرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
99. Do they then feel secure from Allah’s plan [22]? None feels secure from Allah’s plan except the people who are losers.
[22]. That is, His drawing them on by degrees, through graces, and then seizing them suddenly with His Mighty Power.

100
:
7
أَوَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَهۡلِهَآ أَن لَّوۡ نَشَآءُ أَصَبۡنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚ وَنَطۡبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ
100. Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth after its former inhabitants that, if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins, or set a seal upon their hearts so that they would not hear?

تِلۡكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيۡكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآئِهَاۚ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِمَا كَذَّبُواْ مِن قَبۡلُۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطۡبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
101. Those towns — We relate to you some of their stories. Certainly, their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe in what they had already denied before. Thus does Allāh seal the hearts of the disbelievers [23].
[23]. History repeats itself: whenever truth is rejected through pride or defiance, hearts are sealed and nations perish. The stories of Noah, ʿĀd, Thamūd, Lūṭ, and Midian are timeless reminders from Allāh — calling us to reflect, repent, and return to sincere faith.

:
7
وَمَا وَجَدۡنَا لِأَكۡثَرِهِم مِّنۡ عَهۡدٖۖ وَإِن وَجَدۡنَآ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَفَٰسِقِينَ
102. We did not find for most of them any [faithfulness to their] covenant. Indeed, We found that most of them were sinful.

ثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ فَظَلَمُواْ بِهَاۖ فَٱنظُرۡ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
103. Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his leaders, but they dealt unjustly with them. So behold how was the outcome of the corrupters?

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَٰفِرۡعَوۡنُ إِنِّي رَسُولٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
104. Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am truly a messenger from the Lord of all worlds.”
