عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
1. About what are they asking one another?
التفاسير:
2
:
78
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
2. About the great news (1]?
[1]. I.e., Islamic Monotheism, the Qur"an, which Prophet Muhammad ﷺ brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.
التفاسير:
3
:
78
ٱلَّذِي هُمۡ فِيهِ مُخۡتَلِفُونَ
3. which they are about it in disagreement?
التفاسير:
4
:
78
كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ
4. No indeed; they will know.
التفاسير:
5
:
78
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعۡلَمُونَ
5. Then no; they will know.
التفاسير:
6
:
78
أَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِهَٰدٗا
6. Have We not made the earth as a cradle?
التفاسير:
7
:
78
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَوۡتَادٗا
7. And the mountains as pegs?
التفاسير:
8
:
78
وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا
8. And We created you in pairs,
التفاسير:
9
:
78
وَجَعَلۡنَا نَوۡمَكُمۡ سُبَاتٗا
9. And We made your sleep for rest,
التفاسير:
10
:
78
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلَّيۡلَ لِبَاسٗا
10. And We made the night as a covering,
التفاسير:
11
:
78
وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشٗا
11. And We made the day for livelihood.
التفاسير:
12
:
78
وَبَنَيۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعٗا شِدَادٗا
12. And We constructed above you seven strong (heavens, one above the other),
التفاسير:
13
:
78
وَجَعَلۡنَا سِرَاجٗا وَهَّاجٗا
13. And We made (the sun) a glowing lamp,
التفاسير:
14
:
78
وَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ مَآءٗ ثَجَّاجٗا
14. And We sent down from the rainclouds water pouring forth abundantly -
التفاسير:
15
:
78
لِّنُخۡرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبّٗا وَنَبَاتٗا
15. That We may bring out thereby grain and vegetation,
التفاسير:
16
:
78
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلۡفَافًا
16. And dense gardens
التفاسير:
17
:
78
إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتٗا
17. Indeed, the Day of Decision has been appointed time -
التفاسير:
18
:
78
يَوۡمَ يُنفَخُ فِي ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأۡتُونَ أَفۡوَاجٗا
18. The Day the trumpet is blown [2], then you will (all) come forth in multitudes,
[2]. For the second time, causing all to rise from the dead for resurrection.

:
78
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ أَبۡوَٰبٗا
19. And the heaven is opened, (and) so will become gateways,
التفاسير:
20
:
78
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ فَكَانَتۡ سَرَابًا
20. and the mountains are made to move, so it becomes a mirage.
التفاسير:
21
:
78
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتۡ مِرۡصَادٗا
21. Indeed, Gehinnom (Hell) has been lying in wait,
التفاسير:
22
:
78
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابٗا
22. For the transgressors a resort (of return).
التفاسير:
23
:
78
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحۡقَابٗا
23. Remaining therein (for) ages.
التفاسير:
24
:
78
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرۡدٗا وَلَا شَرَابًا
24. They will neither taste therein any coolness nor any drink,
التفاسير:
25
:
78
إِلَّا حَمِيمٗا وَغَسَّاقٗا
25. Except scalding water and [foul] purulence,
التفاسير:
26
:
78
جَزَآءٗ وِفَاقًا
26. An appropriate recompense (for their evil deeds).
التفاسير:
27
:
78
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ حِسَابٗا
27. Indeed, they used not expecting a Reckoning,
التفاسير:
28
:
78
وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابٗا
28. And they denied Our verses (of the Qur'an) a complete denial.
التفاسير:
29
:
78
وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ كِتَٰبٗا
29. And everything (of what they did) We have enumerated in writing.
التفاسير:
30
:
78
فَذُوقُواْ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمۡ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
30. So taste, for We shall never increase you (O deniers) except in torment.
التفاسير:
31
:
78
إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
31. Indeed, for the righteous is attainment [3],
[3]. I.e., safety from Hell and an entry to Paradise.
التفاسير:
32
:
78
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعۡنَٰبٗا
32. orchards and grapevines,
التفاسير:
33
:
78
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابٗا
33. And full-breasted (maidens) of equal age,
التفاسير:
34
:
78
وَكَأۡسٗا دِهَاقٗا
34. And a cup full (of pure wine).
التفاسير:
35
:
78
لَّا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا كِذَّٰبٗا
35. They will not hear therein (in the Paradise) any vain words nor lying -
التفاسير:
36
:
78
جَزَآءٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابٗا
36. A Reward from your Lord, a Gift, (amply sufficient by) calculation.
التفاسير:
37
:
78
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِنۡهُ خِطَابٗا
37. Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Most Compassionate (Allāh). They possess not from Him [authority to] address Him.

78
يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفّٗاۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابٗا
38. On the Day the (holy) spirit (i.e., Gabriel) and the angels will stand in rows; they will not speak (before Him) except he whom 'Allāh' the Most Compassionate permits, and who speaks right.
التفاسير:
39
:
78
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
39. That is the True Day! So whoever wills, may take (a way) back to his Lord (Allāh) [4].
[4]. By obeying Him in this world.

78
إِنَّآ أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ عَذَابٗا قَرِيبٗا يَوۡمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡكَافِرُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَٰبَۢا
40. Indeed, We have warned you of a near torment - the Day when man will see what (good or evil deeds) his two hands have done, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me, would that I were mere dust!"
