[252] Posiblemente el Faraón castigaba a sus víctimas empalándolas en una estaca o las ataba a ellas y las torturaba hasta la muerte, por ese motivo una de las traducciones posibles de la aleya 10 de la sura 89 es: “Y el Faraón, el de las estacas”. El castigo de la crucifixión, tal y como se entiende hoy en día, no era utilizado en aquel entonces, por ese motivo se ha evitado usar este término, a pesar de ser el más extendido en las traducciones del Sagrado Corán.
