Translation of the meanings Surah: Al-Hijr   Ayah:

Al-Hijr

الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَقُرۡءَانٖ مُّبِينٖ
1. Alif Laam Ra¹. These are the Verses of the Book and a clear Recitation ².

2. Both the Book and the Recitation mentioned here refer to one and the same thing, the Qur’an itself; the Book that was to be and then the present recited Verses. Its double mention, as given here, is meant to draw special attention to the evidences it provides to the Truthfulness of the Message.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡ كَانُواْ مُسۡلِمِينَ
2. Perhaps will wish those who disbelieved (in the truth) that they had been Muslims (those who submit themselves to God)3.
3. On the Day of Judgement or at the time of their death.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
ذَرۡهُمۡ يَأۡكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلۡهِهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ
3. Leave them to eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by (vain) hope⁴; for they will soon know (the Truth)⁵.
4. Vain hope of a long life, accomplishment of one’s aspirations, a peaceful life, a fortunate turn of events, etc., that makes one distracted from the real purpose of life and heedless to the Truth of Islam. One of the greatest reasons for which Allāh has created mankind – which is one of the greatest tests – is the command to affirm His Oneness and to worship Him alone without partners.
5. That there is no deity except Allāh and that Muḥammad is the messenger of God.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ
4. Never did We destroy any of the town (for its sins) except that it had a known (prescribed) Decree.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
مَّا تَسۡبِقُ مِنۡ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ
5. No nation will precede its term, nor will they (be able) to postpone it.

وَقَالُواْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجۡنُونٞ
6. And they (the deniers) said: "O you (Muhammad) to whom the Reminder (the Qur’an) has been revealed. You are certainly insane."

لَّوۡمَا تَأۡتِينَا بِٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
7. 'Why do you not bring us the angels, if you are of the truthful ones?"
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓاْ إِذٗا مُّنظَرِينَ
8. We do not send down the angels except with Truth6, and in that case, they (the deniers) had not been respited.
6. Revelation or Divine Retribution.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ
9. Indeed, it is We who revealed the Reminder 'Qur’an', and for it We are certainly Preservers.

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
10. We certainly sent (messengers) before you among the sects of the former people.

وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
11. And no messenger would come to them, but they used to mock at him.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَسۡلُكُهُۥ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
12. Thus do We cause it (disbelief) to traverse into the hearts of the guilty;

لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَقَدۡ خَلَتۡ سُنَّةُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
13. They do not believe in it (this Qur’an), and indeed the example of the (destroyed) former (unbelievers) has already passed.

وَلَوۡ فَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم بَابٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعۡرُجُونَ
14. Even if We open to them a gateway of heaven, and) so they continued to ascend, through it,

لَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتۡ أَبۡصَٰرُنَا بَلۡ نَحۡنُ قَوۡمٞ مَّسۡحُورُونَ
15. They would certainly say: "Our eyes have only been dazzled, rather, we are a people bewitched."

وَلَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجٗا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
16. We have set up constellations in the heaven, and We adorned it for the beholders.

وَحَفِظۡنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡطَٰنٖ رَّجِيمٍ
17. And We preserved it from every outcast devil,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٞ مُّبِينٞ
18. Except him (devil) who (tries to) eavesdrop (to the near heaven), and so an evidently flaming (meteor) follows him up.

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مَدَدۡنَٰهَا وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مَّوۡزُونٖ
19. And the earth-We have extended it, and cast on it firm mountains, and [We] caused to grow therein of every thing well- balanced.

وَجَعَلۡنَا لَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَعَٰيِشَ وَمَن لَّسۡتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِرَٰزِقِينَ
20. And We have made for you therein means of living and for those for whom you are not providers.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِن مِّن شَيۡءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
21. And there is not a thing but with Us are its treasures, and We do not send it down except in a known measure.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ
22. We send the winds fertilizing, then send down water from the sky, so We give it to you to drink of, And you are not its storers.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ نُحۡيِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثُونَ
23. And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the 'sole' Inheritor.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ مِنكُمۡ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ
24. And certainly, We knew those who precede among you, and certainly, We knew those who come later.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٞ
25. Indeed, your Lord (Allāh), He it is who will gather them (for Judgment). Surely, He is Wise, Knowing.

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ
26. We have certainly created man out of sounding clay of mud altered into shape.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَٱلۡجَآنَّ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ مِن قَبۡلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
27. And the jinn (Satan) We created before from the fire of the scorching winds.

وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي خَٰلِقُۢ بَشَرٗا مِّن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ
28. (Mention) when your Lord (Allāh) said to the angels: "I will create a mortal man out of sounding clay of mud altered into shape.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَإِذَا سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ وَنَفَخۡتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِي فَقَعُواْ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ
29. So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My (created) soul, fall down in prostration to him."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَسَجَدَ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعُونَ
30. So the angels prostrated - all of them together,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
31. Except Iblees (Satan); he refused to be with the prostrators.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ مَا لَكَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ مَعَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
32. 'Allāh' said: "O Iblees (Satan), what is the matter with you that you are not with the prostrators?"

قَالَ لَمۡ أَكُن لِّأَسۡجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ مِّنۡ حَمَإٖ مَّسۡنُونٖ
33. (Satan) said: "It is not for me to prostrate to a mortal man whom you have created out of sounding clay of mud altered into shape."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٞ
34. (Allāh) said: "Then get out of it (the Garden), for you are outcast;
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِنَّ عَلَيۡكَ ٱللَّعۡنَةَ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ
35. And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ يُبۡعَثُونَ
36. (Satan) said: "My Lord, then grant me respite until the Day they are resurrected."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ
37. (Allāh) said: "Then indeed, you are of the respited."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ
38. Until the Day of the appointed time known (to Me alone i.e., the Day of Judgment).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
39. (Satan) said: "My Lord, because You have misled me, I will certainly adorn for them on the earth7, and I will cause them all to deviate,
7. The path of error, worldly distractions, desires and evil.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
40. Excepting Your devoted servants among them."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ عَلَيَّ مُسۡتَقِيمٌ
41. (Allāh) said: "This is a Path (of return) that is straight to Me."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِنَّ عِبَادِي لَيۡسَ لَكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٌ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡغَاوِينَ
42. Indeed, as regards of My servants, you have no authority over them, except those who follow you of the deviators.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
43. And Gehinnom (Hell) is surely their promised place for them all,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
لَهَا سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡوَٰبٖ لِّكُلِّ بَابٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ جُزۡءٞ مَّقۡسُومٌ
44. It It has seven gates; for each gate has an allotted part of them (from Satan’s followers).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
45. Indeed, the pious will be in Gardens and Springs;
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
ٱدۡخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ
46. Enter it in peace, secure8.
8. The dwellers of Paradise will be safe from all ills, away from troubles, and all matters that might put a dent in their happiness and sense of security.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَنَزَعۡنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنۡ غِلٍّ إِخۡوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
47. We shall have removed whatever of rancor is in their chests, (so they will be) brothers on raised couches, facing each other 'joyfully'.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
لَا يَمَسُّهُمۡ فِيهَا نَصَبٞ وَمَا هُم مِّنۡهَا بِمُخۡرَجِينَ
48. No fatigue touches them therein, nor will they ever be expelled therefrom.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
۞ نَبِّئۡ عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
49. Tell My servants that I am the All-Forgiving, the All-Merciful,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ٱلۡأَلِيمُ
50. And that My torment - is the most painful torment.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ عَن ضَيۡفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
51. And tell them about the (angelic) guests of Abraham.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِذۡ دَخَلُواْ عَلَيۡهِ فَقَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمۡ وَجِلُونَ
52. when they entered upon him, so they said: "Peace". (Abraham) said: "Indeed, we feel apprehensive of you9."
9. Since they came at a time when guests were not usually expected, he doubted their motives and wanted them to assure him of peace, which they promptly did.

قَالُواْ لَا تَوۡجَلۡ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٖ
53. They said: "Fear not. indeed, we give you good news of (the birth) of a knowledgeable boy (Isaac)."

قَالَ أَبَشَّرۡتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ
54. (Abraham) said: "Have you (angels) given me good news (of a son) although old age has come upon me? Of what then do you give me good news?

قَالُواْ بَشَّرۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡقَٰنِطِينَ
55. (The angels) said: "We have given you good news with the truth, so do not be of the despairing."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ وَمَن يَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ
56. (Abraham) said: "Who would despair of the Mercy of his Lord 'Allāh' except those who are astray?"
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
57. He said: "What is then your concern (here), O (angelic) messengers?"
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ
58. They said: "We are indeed sent to a criminal people (in Sodom and Gomorrah),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
59. Except for Lot's household: Indeed, We shall surely deliver them all,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرۡنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
60. Except his spouse; Allāh decreed that she is of those who remain behind10."
10. To perish, for having collaborated with the deniers.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
61. When the (angelic) messengers came to Lot’s family,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّنكَرُونَ
62. He said, "Surely you are a people strangers (to me)."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالُواْ بَلۡ جِئۡنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَمۡتَرُونَ
63. (The angels) said: "But, we have come to you with that (torment) in which they have been doubting."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَتَيۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ
64. And we come to you with the truth, and we are certainly truthful.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱتَّبِعۡ أَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٞ وَٱمۡضُواْ حَيۡثُ تُؤۡمَرُونَ
65. So travel with your family in a part of the night, and follow their rear, and let not any one of you look back. And proceed where you are commanded.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَقَضَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡأَمۡرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقۡطُوعٞ مُّصۡبِحِينَ
66. And We decreed to him, that command: that the roots of these (sinners) would be cut off in the morning."

وَجَآءَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
67. And the people of the city came seeking good news (of the arrival of the young men).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيۡفِي فَلَا تَفۡضَحُونِ
68. (Lot) said: "These are my guests, so put me not to shame.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ
69. And fear Allāh and do not disgrace me."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالُوٓاْ أَوَلَمۡ نَنۡهَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
70. They said: "Did we not forbid you from (extending hospitality to) the strangers?"
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قَالَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ
71. (Lot) said: "Here are my daughters11 - if you would be doers (of lawful marriage)."
11. I.e., women of my community or my own daughters.

لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي سَكۡرَتِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ
72. By your life (O Muhammad), surely they were indeed in their intoxication wandering blindly.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُشۡرِقِينَ
73. So the shriek (of Our punishment) seized them at the time of sunrise.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَجَعَلۡنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ
74. We turned (Sodom) upside down, and rained upon them stones of baked clay.

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡمُتَوَسِّمِينَ
75. this there are certainly signs for the discerning.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلٖ مُّقِيمٍ
76. And indeed, those cities (i.e., Sodom and Gomorrah) are surely (situated) on an established road12.
12. I.e., on the highway to the Levant, where the dead sea is now.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
77. Indeed, in this there is certainly a sign for the believers.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَإِن كَانَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ
78. And the companions of the Thicket (i.e., the dwellers of Madyan) were surely wrongdoers.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ
79. So We took vengeance on them. and indeed, they both (towns of Sodom and Midian) are on a manifest highway13.
13. Plain for all to see and take a lesson from.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡحِجۡرِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
80. Indeed, the people of the Stone (Valley, i.e., Thamud) also denied the messengers;
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنۡهَا مُعۡرِضِينَ
81. And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَكَانُواْ يَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ
82. They used to carve from the mountains, houses, feelings secure.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ مُصۡبِحِينَ
83. But seized them the shriek (of Our punishment) at early morning;
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
84. And all that which they used to earn (of wealth and power) availed them not.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأٓتِيَةٞۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِيلَ
85. We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except for a genuine purpose. And the Hour 'of Doom' is certainly coming, so overlook (O Muhammad, their faults) with the gracious overlooking14.
14. In which there is no blame or reproach.
Forgiving your enemies means showing kindness to those who oppose, mistreat, or harm you. It's a call to forgive without conditions, irrespective of how they treat you personally. This does not equate to pacifism, as Muslims are still expected to defend the innocent and speak the truth without hate. And that is why come after this in other chapters of the Qur’an the ordainment of Jihâd - fighting for God’s cause against the evil forces. 
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡخَلَّٰقُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
86. Indeed, your Lord (Allāh), He is The All-creator, the All-Knowing.

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكَ سَبۡعٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمَثَانِي وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٱلۡعَظِيمَ
87. We have certainly given you seven of oft-repeated (Verses i.e., the opening Chapter) and the Great Qur’an.

لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيۡنَيۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
88. Do not extend your eyes towards what We have given certain pairs of them (the deniers) to enjoy, nor grieve over them, but lower your wing (in love and kindness) to the believers.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَقُلۡ إِنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلنَّذِيرُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
89. Say (Muhammad): "Indeed, I am the clear warner."
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
كَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِينَ
90. Just as We had sent down (scriptures) to the separatists15.
15. I.e., the Jews and the Christians who separated from the teachings of their Prophets. In some parts of their scriptures they believed and in some they disbelieved, and they changed others, and divided themselves into many differing sects.

ٱلَّذِينَ جَعَلُواْ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ عِضِينَ
91. Those who made the Qur’an into fragments16. 
16. Believing in some and rejecting others according to their own inclinations.

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
92. So, by your Lord, We shall certainly question them all,

عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
93. About what they used to do.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
94. So declare what you are commanded (of Islamic Monotheism), and turn away from the polytheists.

إِنَّا كَفَيۡنَٰكَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِينَ
95. Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the scoffers.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡعَلُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۚ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ
96. Who set up with Allāh another god. They will soon come to know.

وَلَقَدۡ نَعۡلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدۡرُكَ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ
97. We certainly know that your chest straitens by what they say (of mockery and denial);

فَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِّنَ ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
98. So glorify with the praise of your Lord (Allāh) and be among those who prostrate themselves (before Him).

وَٱعۡبُدۡ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَكَ ٱلۡيَقِينُ
99. And worship your Lord (Allāh alone), until there comes to you the certainty 'of death'17.
17. Following the Qur’an and the Sunnah 'teachings of Prophet Muhammad', to the very end of our lives is the right way for everyone to close the final chapter of his life's book and finishing well. Good end and gracefully living with life's changes testifies to the reality of Islam, our true faith. It leaves for those who remain a legacy of inspiring memories of worshipping Allāh alone without associating any partners with Him in worship and taking as living example His last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad.
