Ayah: 1

عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
1 קמט את מצחו והפנה את גבו,

Ayah: 2

أَن جَآءَهُ ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ
2 כאשר בא לקראתו העיוור,

Ayah: 3

وَمَا يُدۡرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُۥ يَزَّكَّىٰٓ
3 אבל, כיצד תוכל לדעת אם הוא בא להיטהר,

Ayah: 4

أَوۡ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰٓ
4 או שמא יהרהר בהזהרה ויפיק תועלת ממנה,

Ayah: 5

أَمَّا مَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ
5 אולם, אל זה שחושב את עצמו עשיר,

Ayah: 6

فَأَنتَ لَهُۥ تَصَدَّىٰ
6 אליו אתה פונה בהתלהבות.

Ayah: 7

وَمَا عَلَيۡكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ
7 אף שהאשמה היא לא עליך אם הוא לא ייטהר.

وَأَمَّا مَن جَآءَكَ يَسۡعَىٰ
8 אך את זה אשר מגיע אליך בהתלהבות,

وَهُوَ يَخۡشَىٰ
9 והוא חרד מאללה,

Ayah: 10

فَأَنتَ عَنۡهُ تَلَهَّىٰ
10 אותו אתה מזניח.

Ayah: 11

كَلَّآ إِنَّهَا تَذۡكِرَةٞ
11 אכן! זה דברי תוכחה ואזהרה,

Ayah: 12

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ
12 ומי שרוצה, נאפשר לו לזכור.

فِي صُحُفٖ مُّكَرَّمَةٖ
13 זה ירד על עמודים שטופי כבוד,

مَّرۡفُوعَةٖ مُّطَهَّرَةِۭ
14 (עמודים) נעלים ומטוהרים.

بِأَيۡدِي سَفَرَةٖ
15 (אשר טוהרו) בידי הסופרים החכמים (מלאכים),

كِرَامِۭ بَرَرَةٖ
16 הנעלים והמטוהרים.

قُتِلَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَآ أَكۡفَرَهُۥ
17 אבוי לאדם! הוא כל כך כפוי טובה!

مِنۡ أَيِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ
18 ממה אללה ברא אותו?

Ayah: 19

مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ خَلَقَهُۥ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ
19 הוא ברא אותו מטיפה! הוא ברא ועיצב אותו,

ثُمَّ ٱلسَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُۥ
20 ועושה עבורו את הדרך קלה מאוד,

ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُۥ فَأَقۡبَرَهُۥ
21 ואחר כך ממית אותו וגורם לו להיקבר.

ثُمَّ إِذَا شَآءَ أَنشَرَهُۥ
22 וכאשר הוא ירצה, הוא יקים אותו לתחייה.

كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقۡضِ مَآ أَمَرَهُۥ
23 אך האדם מסרב לעשות את המוטל עליו.

Ayah: 24

فَلۡيَنظُرِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ
24 האדם צריך להתבונן באוכל שלו.

Ayah: 25

أَنَّا صَبَبۡنَا ٱلۡمَآءَ صَبّٗا
25 אנחנו גורמים לגשם לשטוף את האדמה.

ثُمَّ شَقَقۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ شَقّٗا
26 אחרי כן אנו מבקעים את האדמה,

فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا حَبّٗا
27 וגורמים לתבואה לצמוח מתוכה,

Ayah: 28

وَعِنَبٗا وَقَضۡبٗا
28 ואת הענבים ואת הירקות,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

Ayah: 29

وَزَيۡتُونٗا وَنَخۡلٗا
29 ועצי זיתים ועצי דקל,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

Ayah: 30

وَحَدَآئِقَ غُلۡبٗا
30 וגנים אשר בהם נובטת הצמחייה,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

Ayah: 31

وَفَٰكِهَةٗ وَأَبّٗا
31 ופירות ומדשאות,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

Ayah: 32

مَّتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡ
32 אשר מספקים (מזון) לכם ולמרעכם,

Ayah: 33

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلصَّآخَّةُ
33 אך כאשר יושמע הקול מחריש האוזניים (קול השופר),

Ayah: 34

يَوۡمَ يَفِرُّ ٱلۡمَرۡءُ مِنۡ أَخِيهِ
34 ביום ההוא יברח האדם אפילו מאחיו,

Ayah: 35

وَأُمِّهِۦ وَأَبِيهِ
35 ומאבא שלו ומאימא שלו,

Ayah: 36

وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَبَنِيهِ
36 ומאשתו ומהבנים שלו,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

Ayah: 37

لِكُلِّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ شَأۡنٞ يُغۡنِيهِ
37 ביום ההוא יהיה לכל אחד מספיק דאגות משל עצמו.

وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ مُّسۡفِرَةٞ
38 ביום ההוא יהיו גם פנים קורנות

ضَاحِكَةٞ مُّسۡتَبۡشِرَةٞ
39 צוחקות וצוהלות,

Ayah: 40

وَوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَلَيۡهَا غَبَرَةٞ
40 אך גם פנים אשר יהיו מכוסות באבק

Ayah: 41

تَرۡهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ
41 ומוחשכות באפלה

Ayah: 42

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَفَرَةُ ٱلۡفَجَرَةُ
42 אלו יהיה אלה שכפרו באמת והתמידו בחטאים.
