Ad-Dukhān

حمٓ
1. Ha Meem1¹.
1. The Qur’an is made up of such letters from the Arabic alphabet. The Arabs at the time of revelation were the unmatched masters of the Arabic language and yet when challenged were totally unable to bring anything like the Qur’an. Although these disjointed Arabic letters are referring to the inimitable nature of the Qur’an and its divine source, God knows best its meaning.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
2. By the clear Book².
2. The clear Book is the Qur’an whose verses are clear with regards to its language and rulings, and all its meanings. A Book whose Truth is evident and which clears up that which is indefinite and inexact.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةٖ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
3. We have sent it down 'the Qur’an' on a blessed night3 to warn (mankind)4.
3. I.e., Laylatul Qadar - the Night of Decree in Ramadan.
4. From polytheism and sins.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فِيهَا يُفۡرَقُ كُلُّ أَمۡرٍ حَكِيمٍ
4. On that night, every precise matter is made distinct5.
5. The angels descend with whatever Allāh has decreed of deaths, births, provisions, calamities, etc., for the whole coming year, according to what is in the Preserved Tablet.

 

   
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
أَمۡرٗا مِّنۡ عِندِنَآۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِينَ
5. A Command from Us. We are ever the Senders (of messengers),
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
رَحۡمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
6. As a Mercy from your Lord 'Allāh'. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
7. Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be certain.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ رَبُّكُمۡ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
8. There is no god (worthy of worship) except Allāh. He gives life and causes death. (He is) your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
بَلۡ هُمۡ فِي شَكّٖ يَلۡعَبُونَ
9. Yet they are in doubt, amusing themselves.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ يَوۡمَ تَأۡتِي ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٖ مُّبِينٖ
10. So watch out for the Day when the sky will be covered in haze6, clearly visible,
6. And they will be in great suffering.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
يَغۡشَى ٱلنَّاسَۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
11. Overwhelming the people - this is a painful torment!
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
رَّبَّنَا ٱكۡشِفۡ عَنَّا ٱلۡعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤۡمِنُونَ
12. (They will pray): "Our Lord, remove the torment from us, we now believe7."
7. In you as one God, and that Mohammad is your servant and messenger.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ وَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ مُّبِينٞ
13. How will there be for them a reminder (at that time), and there had come to them a clear messenger (i.e., Muhammad).
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوۡاْ عَنۡهُ وَقَالُواْ مُعَلَّمٞ مَّجۡنُونٌ
14. Yet they turned away from him and said: 'He is' one taught (and further said) he is out of his mind."
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّا كَاشِفُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابِ قَلِيلًاۚ إِنَّكُمۡ عَآئِدُونَ
15. We shall remove the torment for a while, (but) you will return (to disbelief).
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
يَوۡمَ نَبۡطِشُ ٱلۡبَطۡشَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
16. (Wait) the Day8 when We will strike with the most mighty assault; We will exact retribution.
8. Of decision, the battle of Badr.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
۞ وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَجَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ كَرِيمٌ
17. We had certainly tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger (i.e., Moses),
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
أَنۡ أَدُّوٓاْ إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
18. Saying: "Render to me the servants of Allāh (the children of Israel). I am a faithful messenger sent to you,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَأَن لَّا تَعۡلُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ
19. Exalt not yourselves against Allāh9, I have come to you with a clear authority;
9. By neglecting His worship, and considering yourselves above His worshippers.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَإِنِّي عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمۡ أَن تَرۡجُمُونِ
20. I seek refuge by 'Allāh' my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone (or revile) me,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَإِن لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُواْ لِي فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ
21. 'But' if you do not believe me, then leave me alone."
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوۡمٞ مُّجۡرِمُونَ
22. Moses called upon 'Allāh' his Lord10 (saying): "These are a wicked people."
10. When we find ourselves in life challenges, let’s cry out to Allāh and patiently wait for Him to respond. He’s there, ready to help us in our time of need and give us a firm place to stand.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَأَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيۡلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
23. (Allāh said): "So set out with My servants (the children of Israel) by night; you are to be pursued -
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَٱتۡرُكِ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ رَهۡوًاۖ إِنَّهُمۡ جُندٞ مُّغۡرَقُونَ
24. (Cross the sea and) leave it in stillness. They (Pharaoh’s army) will be drowned.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
كَمۡ تَرَكُواْ مِن جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
25. How many they left behind of gardens and springs,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَزُرُوعٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ
26. And fields of grain and noble places,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَنَعۡمَةٖ كَانُواْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ
27. And goodly things wherein they rejoiced?
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
28. Thus (it was), and We gave them as an inheritance to another people.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَمَا بَكَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنظَرِينَ
29. So the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given respite.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَلَقَدۡ نَجَّيۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡمُهِينِ
30. We delivered the children of Israel from the humiliating torment,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
31. From Pharaoh. He was a haughty one among the transgressors.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَلَقَدِ ٱخۡتَرۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
32. We chose the children of Israel knowingly above the nations (in their time).
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٞاْ مُّبِينٌ
33. We gave them of the signs wherein was a clear trial.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
34. These (pagans) are indeed saying:
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوۡتَتُنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
35. "There is nothing but our first death (in this world) and we shall not be resurrected.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَأۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
36. Bring (back) to life our forefathers, if you are truthful."
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
أَهُمۡ خَيۡرٌ أَمۡ قَوۡمُ تُبَّعٖ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ مُجۡرِمِينَ
37.Are they better or the people of Tubba11 and those before them? We destroyed them, for they were wicked ones.
11. Name of a Yemenite tribal chief.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
38. We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, playing (i.e., without genuine purpose)11.
11. In wisdom You 'Allāh' made them all; the heavens and the earth are full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—living things both large and small. We proclaim that Allāh is the only true God and there is no other god besides Him. Allah’s generous and satisfying provision for all He created. Allāh also has determined the days of each one’s existence.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
مَا خَلَقۡنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
39. We did not create them except in truth and justice, but most of them do not know.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
40. The Day of Judgment is their appointed time, for all of them.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِي مَوۡلًى عَن مَّوۡلٗى شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
41. The Day on which a relative will not benefit (his) relative anything, nor will they be helped,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
42. Except those on whom Allāh has Mercy. He is the All-Mighty the All-Merciful.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
43. Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
طَعَامُ ٱلۡأَثِيمِ
44. Is the food of the sinful,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ يَغۡلِي فِي ٱلۡبُطُونِ
45. Like murky oil; it will boil in (their) bellies,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
كَغَلۡيِ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
46. Like the boiling of scalding water.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
خُذُوهُ فَٱعۡتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
47. (It will be said), "Seize him and drag him down into the midst of the Hellfire,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
ثُمَّ صُبُّواْ فَوۡقَ رَأۡسِهِۦ مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
48. Then pour over his head of the torment of scalding water."
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
ذُقۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡكَرِيمُ
49. Taste it. You who considered yourself so majestic, so noble12.
12. He is challenged with these words in Hell as an additional Chastisement.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمۡتَرُونَ
50. This is (the torment) that you used to doubt (and dispute about it)."
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي مَقَامٍ أَمِينٖ
51. Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
52. Amid gardens and springs;
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
يَلۡبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٖ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ
53. Wearing (garments) of fine silk and brocade, facing (joyfully) each other;
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجۡنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٖ
54. Thus (will it be), and We shall wed them to beautiful ones with wide, lovely eyes.13
13. Fair maidens created by Allāh as such beautiful with intense black irises of their eyes and intense white scleras. Pure, and virgin female who is unwed and has not had any relations with a male.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
يَدۡعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
55. They will call therein for every (kind of) fruit, in peace and security;
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلۡمَوۡتَ إِلَّا ٱلۡمَوۡتَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
56. They will not taste therein death except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the Torment of Hellfire,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَضۡلٗا مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
57. A favor from 'Allāh' your Lord. This is the great achievement.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرۡنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
58. We have made it (the Qur’an) easy in your tongue, that they may take heed.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ إِنَّهُم مُّرۡتَقِبُونَ
59. So wait (for God's decree); for they too are waiting.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
