وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

2. 'I swear' by the clear Book². info

2. The clear Book is the Qur’an whose verses are clear with regards to its language and rulings, and all its meanings. A Book whose Truth is evident and which clears up that which is indefinite and inexact.

3 : 44

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةٖ مُّبَٰرَكَةٍۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ

3. We have sent it down 'the Qur’an' on a blessed night3. Surely We have been warning (mankind) 4. info

3. I.e., Laylatul Qadar - the Night of Decree in Ramadan.
4. From polytheism and sins.

فِيهَا يُفۡرَقُ كُلُّ أَمۡرٍ حَكِيمٍ

4. In it (that night) every wise command is made distinct5. info

5. The angels descend with whatever Allāh has decreed of deaths, births, provisions, calamities, etc., for the whole coming year, according to what is in the Preserved Tablet.

أَمۡرٗا مِّنۡ عِندِنَآۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِينَ

5. A Command from Us. Surely We have (ever) been sending (Messengers), info

رَحۡمَةٗ مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

6. As a Mercy from your Lord (Allāh). Surely He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, info

7 : 44

رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ

7. Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you would be certain. info

8 : 44

لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ رَبُّكُمۡ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

8. There is no god 'worthy of worship' except Him (Allāh). He gives life and causes death. (He is) your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. info

9 : 44

بَلۡ هُمۡ فِي شَكّٖ يَلۡعَبُونَ

9. Rather, they are in doubt, playing. info

10 : 44

فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ يَوۡمَ تَأۡتِي ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٖ مُّبِينٖ

10. So watch for the Day when the sky will come up with smoke6, clearly visible, info

6. And they will be in great suffering.

11 : 44

يَغۡشَى ٱلنَّاسَۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ

11. Covering the people; this is a painful torment! info

12 : 44

رَّبَّنَا ٱكۡشِفۡ عَنَّا ٱلۡعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤۡمِنُونَ

12. "Our Lord, remove the torment from us, we now believe7." info

7. In you as one God only with no second or third, with no any partner, and that Mohammad is your servant and messenger.

13 : 44

أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ وَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ مُّبِينٞ

13. How can (there be) for them the remembrance (at that time), and there had come to them a clear messenger (i.e., Muhammad). info

14 : 44

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوۡاْ عَنۡهُ وَقَالُواْ مُعَلَّمٞ مَّجۡنُونٌ

14. Then they turned away from him and said: (He is) one taught (and further said he is) possessed." info

15 : 44

إِنَّا كَاشِفُواْ ٱلۡعَذَابِ قَلِيلًاۚ إِنَّكُمۡ عَآئِدُونَ

15. We shall remove the torment for a while, 'but' you will surely return 'to disbelief'. info

16 : 44

يَوۡمَ نَبۡطِشُ ٱلۡبَطۡشَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ

16. 'Wait' the Day8 when We will strike with the most mighty assault; We will surely exact retribution. info

8. Of decision, the battle of Badr.

17 : 44

۞ وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَجَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ كَرِيمٌ

17. We had certainly tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger (i.e., Moses), info

18 : 44

أَنۡ أَدُّوٓاْ إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ

18. That, "Render to me the servants of Allāh (the children of Israel). Indeed, I am a trustworthy messenger to you, info

19 : 44

وَأَن لَّا تَعۡلُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّيٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ

19. And that do not exalt yourselves against Allāh9. Indeed, I have come to you with a clear authority; info

9. By neglecting His worship, and considering yourselves above His worshippers.

20 : 44

وَإِنِّي عُذۡتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمۡ أَن تَرۡجُمُونِ

20. And indeed, I sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord (Allāh), lest you stone (or revile) me, info

21 : 44

وَإِن لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُواْ لِي فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ

21. And if you (o people) do not believe me, then keep away from me." info

22 : 44

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوۡمٞ مُّجۡرِمُونَ

22. So (finally) he (Moses) prayed to his Lord10 that: "These are a guilty people." info

10. When we find ourselves in life challenges, let’s cry out to Allāh and patiently wait for Him to respond. He’s there, ready to help us in our time of need and give us a firm place to stand.

23 : 44

فَأَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيۡلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ

23. So set out with My servants (the children of Israel) by night; you are to be pursued - info

24 : 44

وَٱتۡرُكِ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ رَهۡوًاۖ إِنَّهُمۡ جُندٞ مُّغۡرَقُونَ

24. And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned. info

25 : 44

كَمۡ تَرَكُواْ مِن جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ

25. How many they left behind of gardens and springs, info

26 : 44

وَزُرُوعٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ

26. And fields of grain and noble places, info

27 : 44

وَنَعۡمَةٖ كَانُواْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهِينَ

27. And goodly things wherein they rejoiced? info

28 : 44

كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

28. Thus it was, and We gave them as an inheritance to another people. info

29 : 44

فَمَا بَكَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنظَرِينَ

29. So the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given respite. info

30 : 44

وَلَقَدۡ نَجَّيۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡمُهِينِ

30. We delivered the children of Israel from the humiliating torment, info

31 : 44

مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ

31. From Pharaoh. He was a haughty one among the transgressors. info

32 : 44

وَلَقَدِ ٱخۡتَرۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

32. We chose the children of Israel knowingly above the nations 'in their time'. info

33 : 44

وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَٰٓؤٞاْ مُّبِينٌ

33. We gave them of the signs wherein was a clear trial. info

34 : 44

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ

34. These "pagans' are indeed saying: info

35 : 44

إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوۡتَتُنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ

35. "There is nothing but our first death "in this world' and we shall not be resurrected. info

36 : 44

فَأۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

36. Bring 'back' to life our forefathers, if you are truthful." info

37 : 44

أَهُمۡ خَيۡرٌ أَمۡ قَوۡمُ تُبَّعٖ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ مُجۡرِمِينَ

37.Are they better or the people of Tubba11 and those before them? We destroyed them, for they were wicked ones. info

11. I.e., Name of a Yemenite tribal chief.

38 : 44

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ

38. We did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, playing (i.e., without genuine purpose)11. info

11. In wisdom, You 'Allāh' made them all; the heavens and the earth are full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—living things both large and small. We proclaim that Allāh is the only true God and there is no other god besides Him. Allah’s generous and satisfying provision for all He created. Allāh also has determined the days of each one’s existence.

39 : 44

مَا خَلَقۡنَٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

39. We did not create them except in truth and justice, but most of them do not know. info

40 : 44

إِنَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَصۡلِ مِيقَٰتُهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ

40. The Day of Judgment is their appointed time, for all of them. info

يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِي مَوۡلًى عَن مَّوۡلٗى شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ

41. The Day on which a relative will not benefit 'his' relative anything, nor will they be helped, info

42 : 44

إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

42. Except those on whom Allāh has Mercy. He is the All-Mighty the All-Merciful. info

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ

43. Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum, info

طَعَامُ ٱلۡأَثِيمِ

44. Is the food of the sinful, info

45 : 44

كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ يَغۡلِي فِي ٱلۡبُطُونِ

45. Like murky oil; it will boil in "their' bellies, info

كَغَلۡيِ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ

46. Like the boiling of scalding water. info

47 : 44

خُذُوهُ فَٱعۡتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

47. 'It will be said', "Seize him and drag him down into the midst of the Hellfire, info

48 : 44

ثُمَّ صُبُّواْ فَوۡقَ رَأۡسِهِۦ مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ

48. Then pour over his head of the torment of scalding water." info

ذُقۡ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡكَرِيمُ

49. Taste it. You who considered yourself so majestic, so noble12. info

12. He is challenged with these words in Hell as an additional Chastisement.

50 : 44

إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمۡتَرُونَ

50. This is 'the torment' that you used to doubt 'and dispute about it'." info

إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي مَقَامٍ أَمِينٖ

51. Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place, info

52 : 44

فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ

52. Amid gardens and springs; info

53 : 44

يَلۡبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٖ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٖ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

53. Wearing 'garments' of fine silk and brocade, facing 'joyfully' each other; info

54 : 44

كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجۡنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٖ

54. Thus "will it be', and We shall wed them to beautiful ones with wide, lovely eyes.13 info

13. Fair maidens created by Allāh as such beautiful with intense black irises of their eyes and intense white scleras. Pure, and virgin female who is unwed and has not had any relations with a male.

55 : 44

يَدۡعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ

55. They will call therein for every 'kind of' fruit, in peace and security; info

56 : 44

لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلۡمَوۡتَ إِلَّا ٱلۡمَوۡتَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

56. They will not taste therein death except the first death 'of this world', and He will save them from the Torment of Hellfire, info

فَضۡلٗا مِّن رَّبِّكَۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

57. A favor from 'Allāh' your Lord. This is the great achievement. info

58 : 44

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرۡنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

58. We have made it 'the Qur’an' easy in your tongue, that they may take heed. info

59 : 44

فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ إِنَّهُم مُّرۡتَقِبُونَ

59. So wait 'for God's decree'; for they too are waiting. info
