51 : 5

۞ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلۡيَهُودَ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَۘ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٖۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمۡ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

51. O believers, do not take the Jews and Christians ^[47] as allies, they are allies of one another. And whoever among you allies himself with them ^[48] is surely one of them. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the unjust people.

[47]. Refers to those among them who are hostile toward you or who belittle the people of faith.
[48]. That is, whoever supports them against the believers or prefers their religion over Islam.

52 : 5

فَتَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِيهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَخۡشَىٰٓ أَن تُصِيبَنَا دَآئِرَةٞۚ فَعَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَأۡتِيَ بِٱلۡفَتۡحِ أَوۡ أَمۡرٖ مِّنۡ عِندِهِۦ فَيُصۡبِحُواْ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَسَرُّواْ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ نَٰدِمِينَ

52. So you see those in whose hearts is a disease [of doubt] rushing to align  themselves with them, saying, "We fear that some misfortune [may] befall us." But perhaps Allāh will bring victory or a decision from Him, and they [the hypocrites] will become regretful from what they have been concealing within themselves.

53 : 5

وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ إِنَّهُمۡ لَمَعَكُمۡۚ حَبِطَتۡ أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ فَأَصۡبَحُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ

53. And those who believe will say [about the hypocrites after their exposure]: Are these the ones who swore by Allāh with their most solemn oath that they were indeed with you? Their deeds have become worthless, so they have become losers ^[49].

[49]. These are the hypocrites who honor Allāh with their lips while their hearts remain far from Him. Their worship is in vain, for they have abandoned the commandments of Allāh and replaced them with the traditions of men. Consequently, they earn Allah’s anger, their deceit is exposed, and all that they strove for comes to nothing. Such is the magnitude of their loss.

54 : 5

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَن يَرۡتَدَّ مِنكُمۡ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَسَوۡفَ يَأۡتِي ٱللَّهُ بِقَوۡمٖ يُحِبُّهُمۡ وَيُحِبُّونَهُۥٓ أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ يُجَٰهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا يَخَافُونَ لَوۡمَةَ لَآئِمٖۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

54. O believers, whoever among you turns back from his religion [of Islam] ^[50], then Allāh will bring forth [in place of them] a people, whom He will love ^[51] and who will love Him ^[52], they will be humble toward the believers, mighty against the disbelievers, striving earnestly in Allah’s Way and unafraid of the blame of any critic. This is Allah’s bounty, which He grants to whomever He wills. For Allāh is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.

[50]. Ignoring the command not to ally with the enemies of the believers is considered a renunciation of one’s faith.
[51]. This teaches us to earn Allah’s love and reflect it through acts of service, patience, humility, and sacrifice.
[52]. If we truly love Allāh, we must adhere to His commandments and follow His final Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ.

55 : 5

إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُمۡ رَٰكِعُونَ

55. Indeed your [true] guardian is none but Allāh, His messenger [Muhammad] and those who believe - those who maintain the prayer, give the poor-rate while bowing themselves [in submission to Allāh alone].

56 : 5

وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فَإِنَّ حِزۡبَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ

56. Whoever takes Allāh, His messenger [Muhammad] and those who believe as their allies, then indeed it is the party of Allāh that will be victorious.

57 : 5

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُواْ دِينَكُمۡ هُزُوٗا وَلَعِبٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَٱلۡكُفَّارَ أَوۡلِيَآءَۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ

57. O believers, do not take as guardians those who make a mockery and fun of your religion - from among those who were given the Scripture before you and the disbelievers [idolaters]. Fear Allāh [and shun evil] if you are truly believers.
