24 : 5

قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَن نَّدۡخُلَهَآ أَبَدٗا مَّا دَامُواْ فِيهَا فَٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَٰتِلَآ إِنَّا هَٰهُنَا قَٰعِدُونَ

24. They said: "O Moses, indeed we will not enter it ever as long as they are in it. So go you and your Lord, and fight; indeed, we will stay right here." info

25 : 5

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لَآ أَمۡلِكُ إِلَّا نَفۡسِي وَأَخِيۖ فَٱفۡرُقۡ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

25. [Moses] said: "My Lord, I have no control [upon any) but myself and my brother [Aaron]; so separate us from these sinful people. info

26 : 5

قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا مُحَرَّمَةٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡۛ أَرۡبَعِينَ سَنَةٗۛ يَتِيهُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ فَلَا تَأۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

26. [Allāh] said: "So it will be surely forbidden to them for forty years [30], they will wander about in the land. So do not grieve over the rebellious people." info

[30]. I.e., the sacred land - the region between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean, including Jerusalem.
Allāh, the Most High, decreed that they would wander in the land for forty years as a punishment for their sins.

27 : 5

۞ وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ ٱبۡنَيۡ ءَادَمَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ إِذۡ قَرَّبَا قُرۡبَانٗا فَتُقُبِّلَ مِنۡ أَحَدِهِمَا وَلَمۡ يُتَقَبَّلۡ مِنَ ٱلۡأٓخَرِ قَالَ لَأَقۡتُلَنَّكَۖ قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

27. Recite to them the story of the two sons of Adam [Cain and Abel] in truth, when both offered a sacrifice, it was accepted from one of them [31], but not accepted from the other [32]. [Out of envy] he [Cain] said [to his brother]: "I will surely kill you." [Abel] replied: "Allāh only accepts from the righteous." info

[31]. I.e., Abel, as he offered the best from his flocks of sheep.
[32]. I.e., Cain, as he offered the worst of his harvest.

28 : 5

لَئِنۢ بَسَطتَ إِلَيَّ يَدَكَ لِتَقۡتُلَنِي مَآ أَنَا۠ بِبَاسِطٖ يَدِيَ إِلَيۡكَ لِأَقۡتُلَكَۖ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

28. If you raise your hand against me to kill me, I will not raise my hand against you, indeed I fear Allāh, Lord of the worlds. info

29 : 5

إِنِّيٓ أُرِيدُ أَن تَبُوٓأَ بِإِثۡمِي وَإِثۡمِكَ فَتَكُونَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَٰٓؤُاْ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

29. Indeed, I want that you would bear 'thereby' my sin [33] and your own sin, so you will be among the inhabitant of the Fire. And that is the recompense of the wrongdoers. info

[33]. The sin of killing me.

30 : 5

فَطَوَّعَتۡ لَهُۥ نَفۡسُهُۥ قَتۡلَ أَخِيهِ فَقَتَلَهُۥ فَأَصۡبَحَ مِنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ

30. So his soul prompted to him killing his brother, then he killed him; and thus became one of the losers [34]. info

[34]. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “No soul ever gets killed unjustifiably, unless the early son of Adam 'Cain' shoulders some of the burden of its blood, for he was the first human to spill blood on Earth."

31 : 5

فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ غُرَابٗا يَبۡحَثُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِيُرِيَهُۥ كَيۡفَ يُوَٰرِي سَوۡءَةَ أَخِيهِۚ قَالَ يَٰوَيۡلَتَىٰٓ أَعَجَزۡتُ أَنۡ أَكُونَ مِثۡلَ هَٰذَا ٱلۡغُرَابِ فَأُوَٰرِيَ سَوۡءَةَ أَخِيۖ فَأَصۡبَحَ مِنَ ٱلنَّٰدِمِينَ

31. Then Allāh sent a crow scratching in the ground to show him how to bury his brother’s corpse. He cried, ‘Woe to me! Am I so powerless that i cannot be like this crow and bury my brother’s body?’ Thus, he became one of the remorseful.” info
