18. The Jews and the Christians say: "We are the children of Allāh and His beloved ones." Say: "Why does He then punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are but human beings, from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. To Allāh alone belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and to Him is the [final] return. info

[29]. Joshua and Caleb Joshua and Caleb were heroes among the Muslims of the Children of Israel. When Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) sent scouts into the land of Canaan, they were the two courageous men who reported with faith and confidence that the Canaanites could indeed be defeated. Moses promised Caleb that his family would receive a particularly blessed portion of the land to be conquered. Caleb’s steadfast faith and devotion to Allāh sustained him through decades of life in the wilderness and in the battles to secure the inheritance that Allāh had promised to the believers among the Children of Israel. He said, “I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I am just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.” Caleb declared with certainty, “By Allāh’s help, I will drive them out just as He has promised.”
Regardless of age, stage in life, or circumstance, Allāh helps all who wholeheartedly trust in Him. The Qur’an inspires believers to place their faith in Allāh by following His final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who exemplified God’s mercy and care for all who turn to Him for help. As the believers proclaim:
“Allāh is our Helper; we will not be afraid."
