Translation of the meanings Surah: Al-Qiyāmah   Ayah:

Al-Qiyāmah

لَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
1. I (God) swear by the Day of Resurrection.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
2. And I swear by the self-reproaching soul¹. 
1. Of the believer, which blames oneself whenever falls into sin or error, that you will all certainly be resurrected after death. 
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
أَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجۡمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
3. Does man think that We cannot (resurrect him and) reassemble his bones²?
2. After his death for Judgment.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُۥ
4. Yes indeed, We are Able to restore (even) his (very) fingertips.

بَلۡ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفۡجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
5. Yet man wants to continue in sin3.
3. This refers to the disbeliever, who denies the Day of Resurrection and Judgment.

يَسۡـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
6. He asks (mockingly): "When is the Day of Resurrection (and Judgment)?"

فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ
7. So, when the sight is dazed,

وَخَسَفَ ٱلۡقَمَرُ
8. And the moon is eclipsed,

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ
9. And the sun and the moon are brought together4,
4. Rising from the west and losing their lights.

يَقُولُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذٍ أَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَفَرُّ
10. Man will say on that Day: "Where is the escape?"

كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
11. No, There is no place of refuge,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقَرُّ
12. To your Lord on that Day will be the only place of rest.

يُنَبَّؤُاْ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
13. Man will be informed on that Day, of all that he sent forth or kept behind5.
5. I.e., whatever good and bad deeds he committed or omitted.

بَلِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٞ
14. Rather, man will be a witness against himself,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَلَوۡ أَلۡقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
15. Even if he presents his excuses (to cover his misdeeds).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
لَا تُحَرِّكۡ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعۡجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
16. Do not move (Muhammad) your tongue to hasten with it6.
6. I.e., reciting and repeating what is revealed to you of the Qur'an before its completion.

إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا جَمۡعَهُۥ وَقُرۡءَانَهُۥ
17. It is upon Us its collection [in your heart] and 'to make possible' to recite it (the Qur’an).

فَإِذَا قَرَأۡنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعۡ قُرۡءَانَهُۥ
18. So, when We recite it (through Gabriel to you Muhammad) follow its recitation.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
19. Then it is for Us to make it all clear (its meanings).

كَلَّا بَلۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ
20. Not at all! Rather, you (people) love the immediate (life),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ
21. And neglect the Hereafter life.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاضِرَةٌ
22. (Some) faces on that Day will be bright,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٞ
23. To its Lord (Allāh)7 looking.
7. The believers will be granted the honor of actually seeing Allāh 'God' in the Hereafter life.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بَاسِرَةٞ
24. And (other) faces on that Day will be gloomy -

تَظُنُّ أَن يُفۡعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٞ
25. Certain that a back-breaking calamity will be done to them.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِيَ
26. Nay, when it (the soul) reaches up to the the collar bone (in its exit),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَقِيلَ مَنۡۜ رَاقٖ
27. And it is said, "Who 'will' cure8?"
8. Ruqyah’ is the practice of treating illnesses through Qur’ānic Verses, and invocations prescribed by the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ). It is a means of cure for the evil eye, magic, demons, and physical ailments.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “I was shown the nations, and some Prophets passed by with a few followers, and some Prophets passed by with no followers. Then I was shown a great multitude, and I said, ‘What is this? Is this my followers?’ It was said, ‘No, this is Moses and his people.’ It was said, ‘Look at the horizon.’ There I saw a huge multitude filling the horizon. And it was said, ‘Look there, and there, on the horizons of the sky.’ There was a multitude filling the horizons. It was said, ‘This is your people, and of these, seventy thousand will enter Paradise without being brought to account.’” Then he (the Prophet ﷺ) went inside, without explaining further. The people started to discuss what he had said, saying, “We are the ones who have believed in Allāh and followed His messenger; we are they” or, “It is our children who were born in Islam.” The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) heard about what was being said, so he came out and said: “They are the ones who do not seek ruqya or use charms (the chanting or reciting of a magic spell), they do not believe in bad omens and do not treat themselves with fire; and who put their complete trust in their Lord 'Allāh' alone”.

وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡفِرَاقُ
28. And thought (for sure) that it is the parting (time i.e., his death).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَٱلۡتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
29. And shin is entwined with the other shin (i.e., shrouded for burial)9.
9. Or it may mean: hardship and distress will be joined with another hardship and distress (i.e. distress of death, the difficulties the person faces while leaving this world and moving on to the Hereafter and of the thought as to what is going to happen to him in the Hereafter, while the people arranging for the departure of his body and angels for the departure of his soul.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمَسَاقُ
30. To your Lord on that Day shall be the place to which one is driven.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
31. So he (the denier) neither believed nor prayed,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
32. But (instead), he denied and turned away (from the Truth),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
33. Then he went to his people swaggering in conceit (full of pride),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰ
34. Woe to you, and woe.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
ثُمَّ أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰٓ
35. Again, woe to you, and woe.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
أَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتۡرَكَ سُدًى
36. Does man think that he will be left neglected10?
10. I.e., without purpose and responsibility, or without returning to Allāh for account.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
أَلَمۡ يَكُ نُطۡفَةٗ مِّن مَّنِيّٖ يُمۡنَىٰ
37. Was he not 'once' a drop of sperm emitted,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةٗ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
38. Then he was a clot of blood, so He created and proportioned.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
فَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ
39. And made of him a pair, the male and female.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
أَلَيۡسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحۡـِۧيَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
40. Is not that (Creator) Able to bring the dead back to life11?
11. Indeed, He 'Allāh' is Able to do all things.
