Al-Ghāshiyah
1
:
88
هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡغَٰشِيَةِ
1. Has there come to you the story of the Overwhelming Event?
التفاسير:

2
:
88
وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ
2. ((Some) faces on that Day be humbly downcast [1],
[1]. I.e., the faces of all deniers.
التفاسير:
|
3
:
88
عَامِلَةٞ نَّاصِبَةٞ
3. overburdened and exhausted [2],
[2]. Working hard in the worldly life by worshiping others instead of Allāh, weary in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace due to their sinful deeds.
التفاسير:
|
4
:
88
تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةٗ
4. about to enter an intensely hot Fire,
التفاسير:
|
5
:
88
تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةٖ
5. Given to drink from a boiling hot spring.
التفاسير:
|
6
:
88
لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٖ
6. There is not for them a food except from cactus thorn [3],
[3]. A poisonous thorny plant,
التفاسير:
|
7
:
88
لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِن جُوعٖ
7. That neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.
التفاسير:
|
8
:
88
وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاعِمَةٞ
8. (Other) faces on that Day will be radiant,
التفاسير:
|
9
:
88
لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٞ
9. Satisfied for its striving,
التفاسير:
|
10
:
88
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
10. In a high paradise,
التفاسير:
|
11
:
88
لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةٗ
11. You do not hear therein any idle talk.
التفاسير:
|
12
:
88
فِيهَا عَيۡنٞ جَارِيَةٞ
12. Therein is a flowing spring,
التفاسير:
|
13
:
88
فِيهَا سُرُرٞ مَّرۡفُوعَةٞ
13. Therein are raised couches,
التفاسير:
|
14
:
88
وَأَكۡوَابٞ مَّوۡضُوعَةٞ
14. And cups set at hand,
التفاسير:
|
15
:
88
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةٞ
15. And (fine) cushions lined up,
التفاسير:
|
16
:
88
وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ
16. And carpets spread out.
التفاسير:
|
17
:
88
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ
17. Do they not look at the camels, how they are created?
التفاسير:
|
18
:
88
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ
18. And at the sky - how it is raised?
التفاسير:
|
19
:
88
وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ
19. And at the mountains - how they are erected?
التفاسير:
|
20
:
88
وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ
20. And at the earth - how it is spread out?
التفاسير:
|
21
:
88
فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٞ
21. So keep on reminding (O Muhammad), for you are only a reminder.
التفاسير:
|
22
:
88
لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِمُصَيۡطِرٍ
22. You are not over them a controller,
التفاسير:
|
23
:
88
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
23. Except for him who has turned away and disbelieved,
التفاسير:
|
24
:
88
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ
24. Then Allāh will chastise him with the greater Chastisement.
التفاسير:
|
25
:
88
إِنَّ إِلَيۡنَآ إِيَابَهُمۡ
25. Indeed, to Us is their return
التفاسير:
|
26
:
88
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم
26.Then indeed upon Us is their reckoning [4].
[4]. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said in some of his prayers, “O Allah, bring me to account with an easy reckoning.”
