سورة البقرة - Al-Baqarah
الٓمٓ
1.The Qur’an is made up of such letters from the Arabic alphabet. The Arabs at the time of revelation were the unrivalled masters of the Arabic language and yet when challenged were totally unable to bring anything like the Qur’an. Despite this fact, the inimitable nature of the Qur’an and its divine source, God knows best the meaning of these disjointed Arabic letters.
التفاسير العربية:
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيۡبَۛ فِيهِۛ هُدٗى لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ
3. Who believe in the unseen², keep up the prayer3 and give in charity (a part) of what We4 have provided for them.
2. Such as the Existence of God, angels, jinn, life after death, Paradise and Hell, etc.
3.Keeping up the Prayer, entails performing it punctually and devoutly, observing the manner set forth by the Prophet, who said: “Pray as you have seen me Pray”.
4. It is to be noted that the reference of Allāh to Himself as "We or Us" in many Qur’ānic verses is necessarily understood in the Arabic language to denote grandeur and power, as opposed to the more intimate singular form "I" used in specific instances. This is the “royal” we or us. In English, its called the plural of majesty.
This syntax is used, both in the English and Arabic languages, by emperors, kings and queens. “We, the Emperor of …, grant amnesty to …”.
And to Allah is the best example. He is the King of all kings. He is the Sovereign. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth.

التفاسير العربية:
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ وَبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ يُوقِنُونَ
4. Who believe in what is sent down to you (of the Qur’an and the Wisdom)5 and in what was sent down before you6, and are certain of the (life of the) Hereafter.
5. That is the Sunnah - the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It includes everything he said, did, and approved of.
Allâh’s Messenger said: Islâm is based on (the following) five (principles): a. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allâh. b. To perform the five obligatory prayers. c. To pay Zakat (i.e., the poor due) d. To observe Saum (fasting) during the month of Ramadan. e. To perform Hajj (i.e. pilgrimage to Makkah).
6. Of the Torah, the Gospel,the Psalms, etc.
Allâh’s Messenger said: Islâm is based on (the following) five (principles): a. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allâh. b. To perform the five obligatory prayers. c. To pay Zakat (i.e., the poor due) d. To observe Saum (fasting) during the month of Ramadan. e. To perform Hajj (i.e. pilgrimage to Makkah).
6. Of the Torah, the Gospel,the Psalms, etc.
التفاسير العربية:
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدٗى مِّن رَّبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمۡ وَعَلَىٰ سَمۡعِهِمۡۖ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ غِشَٰوَةٞۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
7. Allah has sealed their hearts and hearing, and their vision is veiled7. For them is a grievous torment.
7. A veil preventing them from accepting the guidance, because of their arrogance and persistence in sin.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ لَا تُفۡسِدُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُصۡلِحُونَ

أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشۡعُرُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ ءَامِنُواْ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤۡمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعۡلَمُونَ
13. When they are told to believe as the (other) people (i.e., followers of Prophet Muhammad) believed, they say: "Shall we believe as the fools8 believe?" They are the fools, but they do not know.
8. For the acceptance of the Truth is foolishness for the hypocrites, to those who are perishing, but to the Muslims who surrender to the will of God and are pure and saved it is the message of Allah (God).
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذَا لَقُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مَعَكُمۡ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
14. When they meet those who believe (in God and His messenger Muhammad), they say: We believe (also); but when they are alone with their devils, they say: "We are with you, we were only mocking."
التفاسير العربية:
مَثَلُهُمۡ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِي ٱسۡتَوۡقَدَ نَارٗا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتۡ مَا حَوۡلَهُۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمۡ وَتَرَكَهُمۡ فِي ظُلُمَٰتٖ لَّا يُبۡصِرُونَ
17. Their example is like that of one who kindles a fire, but when it illuminates all around him, Allah (God) takes away their light leaving them in utter darknesses, (so) they could not see.
التفاسير العربية:
صُمُّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡيٞ فَهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
أَوۡ كَصَيِّبٖ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَٰتٞ وَرَعۡدٞ وَبَرۡقٞ يَجۡعَلُونَ أَصَٰبِعَهُمۡ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِم مِّنَ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ حَذَرَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۚ وَٱللَّهُ مُحِيطُۢ بِٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
19. Or (it is) like a downpour from the sky in which there is utter darknesses, thunder, and lightning; they put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps for fear of death, but Allah encompasses the Deniers.
التفاسير العربية:
يَكَادُ ٱلۡبَرۡقُ يَخۡطَفُ أَبۡصَٰرَهُمۡۖ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوۡاْ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظۡلَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ قَامُواْۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمۡعِهِمۡ وَأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
20. The lightning almost snatches away their vision. Whenever it lights (the way) for them they walk therein, but when it is dark, they stand still. Had Allah willed, He could certainly have taken away their hearing and their vision. Allah has Power over all things.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِرَٰشٗا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءٗ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزۡقٗا لَّكُمۡۖ فَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ أَندَادٗا وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
22. It is Allah Who made the earth as a floor for you and the sky as a dome, and who sends down water from the sky then brings forth with it the fruits for your sustenance. So do not knowingly set up rivals to Allah9.
9. A companion of the Prophet Muhammad said, i asked the prophet, "What is the greatest sin in the sight of Allâh?" He said, "That you set up a rival unto Allâh though He Alone created you." I said, "That is indeed a grave sin." Then I asked, "What is next?" He said "To kill your child lest he should share your food with you." I asked, "What is next?" He said, "To commit adultery with the wife of your neighbour.".
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِن كُنتُمۡ فِي رَيۡبٖ مِّمَّا نَزَّلۡنَا عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِنَا فَأۡتُواْ بِسُورَةٖ مِّن مِّثۡلِهِۦ وَٱدۡعُواْ شُهَدَآءَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
23. Should you have any doubt as to that which We have sent down (of the Qur’an) to Our servant (Muhammad), then produce a Chapter like it and call all your aides apart from Allah, if you are truthful.
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِن لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلُواْ وَلَن تَفۡعَلُواْ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُۖ أُعِدَّتۡ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
24. If you do (it) not, and never shall you do (it), then guard yourselves against the Fire of which men and stones10 are the fuel; prepared for the deniers.
10. I.e., the idols with the idolaters.
التفاسير العربية:
وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ كُلَّمَا رُزِقُواْ مِنۡهَا مِن ثَمَرَةٖ رِّزۡقٗا قَالُواْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي رُزِقۡنَا مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَأُتُواْ بِهِۦ مُتَشَٰبِهٗاۖ وَلَهُمۡ فِيهَآ أَزۡوَٰجٞ مُّطَهَّرَةٞۖ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
25. Give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds, that they will have gardens under which rivers flow. Whenever they are given a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say: "This is what was given to us before." They will be given fruits resembling each other (but different in taste). They will have pure wives therein, and they will abide therein forever.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسۡتَحۡيِۦٓ أَن يَضۡرِبَ مَثَلٗا مَّا بَعُوضَةٗ فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلٗاۘ يُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِيرٗا وَيَهۡدِي بِهِۦ كَثِيرٗاۚ وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ
26. Allah does not shy away to set forth an example - (even that of) a mosquito or any thing above that (or smaller). As for those who believe they know that it is the Truth from their Lord (Allah), but as for those who deny (the Truth), they say: "What does Allah intend by such an example?" He misleads many by it and many He guides by it. But He does not mislead by it (any) except the rebellious (against God).
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهۡدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقۡطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
27. Who break their established Covenant with Allah and sever the relations that Allah has commanded to be kept11, and who spread evil in the land.These are the losers.
11. Prophet Muhammad said, "The person who severs the bond of kinship will not enter Paradise".
التفاسير العربية:
كَيۡفَ تَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَكُنتُمۡ أَمۡوَٰتٗا فَأَحۡيَٰكُمۡۖ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيكُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
28. How dare you deny Allah and you were dead12, and He gave you life? Then He will cause you to die, then bring you back to life again (at the Resurrection), then you shall (all) be returned to Him (for Judgment).
12. Seeds in the loins of men.
التفاسير العربية:
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ
29. It is He (Allah) Who created for you all that is in the earth, then He turned towards the heaven and made them seven heavens. He is All-Knowing of everything.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٞ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ خَلِيفَةٗۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَتَجۡعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفۡسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسۡفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحۡنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمۡدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَۖ قَالَ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
30. When your Lord (Allah) said to the angels, "I am going to place in the earth a successive authority13. They said: "Will You place in it who makes mischief therein and sheds blood, and we glorify You with praises and sanctify You?" (Allah) said: "I know that which you do not know."
13. Mankind, generations after generations.
التفاسير العربية:
وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِي بِأَسۡمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
31. Allah taught Adam the names of all (things), then presented them to the angels; and said: "Tell me the names of these beings, if what you say is true?"
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ أَنۢبِئۡهُم بِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡۖ فَلَمَّآ أَنۢبَأَهُم بِأَسۡمَآئِهِمۡ قَالَ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ غَيۡبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَأَعۡلَمُ مَا تُبۡدُونَ وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡتُمُونَ
33. Allah said: Adam, "Inform them of their names." When he had informed them of their names, (Allah) said: "Did I not say to you that I know the unseen in the heavens and the earth and I know what you reveal or hide?"
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
34. When We said to the angels: "Do obeisance to Adam," they all did obeisance except Iblees (Satan) who abstained out of pride and so he became an ingrate and denier.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقُلۡنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسۡكُنۡ أَنتَ وَزَوۡجُكَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنۡهَا رَغَدًا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمَا وَلَا تَقۡرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
35. We said: "Adam, dwell you and your wife in the Garden, and eat therefrom in (ease and) abundance wherever you wish, but do not approach this tree, lest you transgress.
التفاسير العربية:
فَأَزَلَّهُمَا ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ عَنۡهَا فَأَخۡرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِۖ وَقُلۡنَا ٱهۡبِطُواْ بَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوّٞۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُسۡتَقَرّٞ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ
36. Satan caused them to slip from it, and get them out of that (state) in which they were. (Allah) said: "Descend, you are each other's enemies.There is for you in the earth an abode, and a provision for a time."
التفاسير العربية:
فَتَلَقَّىٰٓ ءَادَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ كَلِمَٰتٖ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
37. Then Adam received words (to seek forgiveness) from his Lord (Allah), so He accepted his repentance (and forgave him). He is the All-Forgiving and Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.
التفاسير العربية:
قُلۡنَا ٱهۡبِطُواْ مِنۡهَا جَمِيعٗاۖ فَإِمَّا يَأۡتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُدٗى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
38. We said: "Descend from it (the Paradise), all of you. There will certainly come to you guidance from Me, whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتِيَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنۡعَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَأَوۡفُواْ بِعَهۡدِيٓ أُوفِ بِعَهۡدِكُمۡ وَإِيَّٰيَ فَٱرۡهَبُونِ
40. Children of Israel, recall My favors which I bestowed on you, and fulfill (your) covenant with Me, I will fulfill (My) Covenant with you; and revere only Me.
التفاسير العربية:
وَءَامِنُواْ بِمَآ أَنزَلۡتُ مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا مَعَكُمۡ وَلَا تَكُونُوٓاْ أَوَّلَ كَافِرِۭ بِهِۦۖ وَلَا تَشۡتَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِي ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلٗا وَإِيَّٰيَ فَٱتَّقُونِ
41. Believe in what I have revealed (of the Qur’an) confirming that which is with you and be not the first to deny it. Do not sell my Verses for a small price, and have fear of Me alone and shun evil.
التفاسير العربية:
وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱرۡكَعُواْ مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ
43. Keep up the prayer, pay the poor-rate, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down (i.e., the Muslims)14.
14. Congregational prayer is obligatory for healthy men in the mosque . It is not permissible for a man who is able to attend the congregational prayer in the mosque to pray in his house even if he prays in congregation with his family.
the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever hears the call to prayer and does not come, there is no prayer for him [i.e., his prayer is not valid], unless he has an excuse. It was asked the companion of the prophet, what is an excuse? He said, Fear or sickness.
the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever hears the call to prayer and does not come, there is no prayer for him [i.e., his prayer is not valid], unless he has an excuse. It was asked the companion of the prophet, what is an excuse? He said, Fear or sickness.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلۡخَٰشِعِينَ
15. The Children of Israel who were hindered from belief out of greed and love of the world. They are commanded to seek help in patience, i.e. fasting, which dents wantonness, and Prayer because it leads to humbleness and expels haughtiness.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُواْ رَبِّهِمۡ وَأَنَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ رَٰجِعُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتِيَ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنۡعَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَأَنِّي فَضَّلۡتُكُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
47. Children of Israel, recall My favors which I bestowed on you and that I preferred you over all nations16.
16. Of your time period, by sending you Prophets, Divine Scriptures, and giving you kingship.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱتَّقُواْ يَوۡمٗا لَّا تَجۡزِي نَفۡسٌ عَن نَّفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يُقۡبَلُ مِنۡهَا شَفَٰعَةٞ وَلَا يُؤۡخَذُ مِنۡهَا عَدۡلٞ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
48. Safeguard yourselves against a Day when a person will not help another in the least, neither will intercession on his behalf be accepted, nor will any ransom be taken from him, nor will they be helped.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ نَجَّيۡنَٰكُم مِّنۡ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ يَسُومُونَكُمۡ سُوٓءَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ عَظِيمٞ
49. (Recall) when We delivered you from Pharaoh’s people who subjected you to severe torment, killing your sons and sparing your women (for servitude), and in this there was a great trial from your Lord.
التفاسير العربية:
ثُمَّ عَفَوۡنَا عَنكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنَّكُمۡ ظَلَمۡتُمۡ أَنفُسَكُم بِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ فَتُوبُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ بَارِئِكُمۡ فَٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ ذَٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ عِندَ بَارِئِكُمۡ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
54. Moses said to his people: "My people, you have done wrong to yourselves by worshipping the calf. So repent to your Creator and slay yourselves (i.e., the guilty ones among you), that is best for you with your Creator (Allah)". Then He accepted your repentance, for He is the All-Forgiving and Accepter of repentance, the Merciful.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قُلۡتُمۡ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّهَ جَهۡرَةٗ فَأَخَذَتۡكُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمۡ تَنظُرُونَ
55. When you argued with Moses, saying, "We shall not believe in you until we see Allah manifestly", so the thunderbolt overtook you while you were looking on.
التفاسير العربية:
ثُمَّ بَعَثۡنَٰكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَوۡتِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَظَلَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡغَمَامَ وَأَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰۖ كُلُواْ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ
57. We shaded you with clouds, and sent down to you manna and quails, saying: "Eat of the good things that We have given you." They did not do Us any harm, but they made their own selves suffer the loss.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا ٱدۡخُلُواْ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةَ فَكُلُواْ مِنۡهَا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمۡ رَغَدٗا وَٱدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡبَابَ سُجَّدٗا وَقُولُواْ حِطَّةٞ نَّغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ خَطَٰيَٰكُمۡۚ وَسَنَزِيدُ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
58. (Recall) when We said: "Enter this town (Jerusalem), and eat from it a plenteous (food) wherever you wish, and enter the gate bowing (with humility), and say we ask forgiveness (from You, O Allah). We shall forgive you your wrongdoings and give more to the doers of good."
التفاسير العربية:
فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ قَوۡلًا غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمۡ فَأَنزَلۡنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رِجۡزٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡسُقُونَ
59. But those who were unjust changed it for a saying other than that which had been told, so We sent on those who were unjust a plague from the sky for their obstinate disobedience.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَإِذِ ٱسۡتَسۡقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ فَقُلۡنَا ٱضۡرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلۡحَجَرَۖ فَٱنفَجَرَتۡ مِنۡهُ ٱثۡنَتَا عَشۡرَةَ عَيۡنٗاۖ قَدۡ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٖ مَّشۡرَبَهُمۡۖ كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ مِن رِّزۡقِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ
60. When Moses prayed for (water to) drink for his people, We said: "Strike the rock with your staff," so there gushed from it twelve springs. Each tribe knew its drinking place: "Eat and drink of Allah's provision, and do not act corruptly in the land making mischief."
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قُلۡتُمۡ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصۡبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٖ وَٰحِدٖ فَٱدۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخۡرِجۡ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مِنۢ بَقۡلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَاۖ قَالَ أَتَسۡتَبۡدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِي هُوَ أَدۡنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِي هُوَ خَيۡرٌۚ ٱهۡبِطُواْ مِصۡرٗا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلۡتُمۡۗ وَضُرِبَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلۡمَسۡكَنَةُ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقۡتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَواْ وَّكَانُواْ يَعۡتَدُونَ
61. (Recall) when you said: "Moses, we no longer have patience with only one kind of food, so ask (Allah) your Lord to bring forth for us out of what the earth grows of its green herbs, cucumbers, garlic, lentils and onions." (Moses) said: "Will you exchange that which is good for that which is less?" Go to any town, so you will have what you ask for. Abasement and humiliation were brought down upon them, and they became deserving of Allah’s Wrath. This was so because they denied the revelations of Allah, and killed the Prophets unjustly. This was so because they disobeyed and they used to transgress.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
62. The believers (of this nation), and those who were Jews, or Nazarenes, or Sabians (before the Prophet Muḥammad) whoever believed in Allah and the Last Day and acted righteously, they shall have their reward from (Allah) their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمُ ٱلطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٖ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ
63. (Recall) when We took your covenant (children of Israel) and raised the Mount (Tur, Sinai) over you (and said): "Take hold of the Law (Torah) We have given you with determination and bear in mind what is in it, so that you may fear Allah and shun evil."
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُكُمۡ أَن تَذۡبَحُواْ بَقَرَةٗۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُوٗاۖ قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ أَنۡ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ
67. (Recall) when Moses said to his people: "Allah commands you that you should slaughter a cow (as atonement for an unsolved murder)"17. They said: "Do you mock us?" (Moses) said: "I seek refuge by Allah, that I should be an ignorant."
17. The slaughter of the cow was also intended to cut off their hearts from the love of worshiping the calf. The problem wasn't only the murder, but their idolatry.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ ٱدۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِيَۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٞ لَّا فَارِضٞ وَلَا بِكۡرٌ عَوَانُۢ بَيۡنَ ذَٰلِكَۖ فَٱفۡعَلُواْ مَا تُؤۡمَرُونَ
68. They said: "Ask your Lord (Allah) to describe to us what type (of cow) it is." Moses said: He says, "It is a cow neither too old, nor too young, but middle aged between the two; so do what you are commanded."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ ٱدۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوۡنُهَاۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٞ صَفۡرَآءُ فَاقِعٞ لَّوۡنُهَا تَسُرُّ ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ
69. They said: "Ask your Lord to describe to us what its color is." Moses said: He says, "It is a yellow cow; bright in color - pleasing to the beholders."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ ٱدۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِيَ إِنَّ ٱلۡبَقَرَ تَشَٰبَهَ عَلَيۡنَا وَإِنَّآ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَمُهۡتَدُونَ
70. They said: "Ask your Lord to describe to us what exactly it is, for us, all cows look alike to us. If Allah wills, we shall certainly be guided aright."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٞ لَّا ذَلُولٞ تُثِيرُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَلَا تَسۡقِي ٱلۡحَرۡثَ مُسَلَّمَةٞ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيهَاۚ قَالُواْ ٱلۡـَٰٔنَ جِئۡتَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ
71. Moses said: "He says, it is a cow neither trained to plow the earth, nor to irrigate the field; sound, without a blemish." They said: "Now you have given us the right description; so they slaughtered it, though they almost did not do so."
التفاسير العربية:
فَقُلۡنَا ٱضۡرِبُوهُ بِبَعۡضِهَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُحۡيِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَيُرِيكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
73. We said: "Strike him (i.e., the slain man) with part of the (slaughtered cow)". Thus Allah brings the dead to life, and shows you His Signs so that you may understand.
التفاسير العربية:
ثُمَّ قَسَتۡ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَهِيَ كَٱلۡحِجَارَةِ أَوۡ أَشَدُّ قَسۡوَةٗۚ وَإِنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنۡهُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ وَإِنَّ مِنۡهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُ ٱلۡمَآءُۚ وَإِنَّ مِنۡهَا لَمَا يَهۡبِطُ مِنۡ خَشۡيَةِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
74. Thereafter, your hearts turned as hard as stones or even harder; for there are some rocks from which streams gush forth. There are some rocks which split asunder so water flows out of them, and there are others which fall down in Awe to Allah. Allah is not unaware of what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ أَفَتَطۡمَعُونَ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ لَكُمۡ وَقَدۡ كَانَ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَسۡمَعُونَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُونَ
75. Do you (believers) then hope that they would believe in you, and a party from among them (Jewish Rabbis) indeed used to hear the Word of God, then they would purposely distort it (the Torah) after they had understood it while they were knowing.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذَا لَقُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعۡضُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ قَالُوٓاْ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِۦ عِندَ رَبِّكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
76. When they meet those who believe (the Muslims), they say: "We believe (also)", and when they are alone one with another, they say: "How would you tell them of what Allah has opened up (revealed) to you18 that they may use it as evidence against you before your Lord? Have you then no sense?"
18. In the Bible about the truthfulness of Prophet Muhammad.
التفاسير العربية:
أَوَلَا يَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَمِنۡهُمۡ أُمِّيُّونَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ إِلَّآ أَمَانِيَّ وَإِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ
78. Some of them (the Jews) are unlearned ones who have no real knowledge about the Scripture except its recitation, and they follow only conjecture19.
19. About the prophet Muhammad, despite his characteristics being mentioned in the Bible.
التفاسير العربية:
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُبُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِأَيۡدِيهِمۡ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَٰذَا مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَشۡتَرُواْ بِهِۦ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلٗاۖ فَوَيۡلٞ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَوَيۡلٞ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكۡسِبُونَ
79. So woe to those who write the Scripture with their hands, and then say: "This is from Allah (God)," so that they may take for it a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn (of sins).
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالُواْ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامٗا مَّعۡدُودَةٗۚ قُلۡ أَتَّخَذۡتُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَهۡدٗا فَلَن يُخۡلِفَ ٱللَّهُ عَهۡدَهُۥٓۖ أَمۡ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
80. ˹Some of˺ the Jews claim, "The Fire will not touch us except for a limited number of days." Say: "Have you received a Promise from Allah, then Allah will not break His promise, or do you speak about Allah without knowledge?
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ لَا تَعۡبُدُونَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ إِحۡسَانٗا وَذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَقُولُواْ لِلنَّاسِ حُسۡنٗا وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا مِّنكُمۡ وَأَنتُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
83. We made a Covenant with the children of Israel that you should worship none but Allah and do good to your parents, relatives, orphans, and the destitute. Speak good words to people, be steadfast in your prayers and pay the poor-rate. Then you turned away heedlessly except a few of you.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ لَا تَسۡفِكُونَ دِمَآءَكُمۡ وَلَا تُخۡرِجُونَ أَنفُسَكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ ثُمَّ أَقۡرَرۡتُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ تَشۡهَدُونَ
84. We made a covenant with you that you should not shed each other’s blood, or expel each other from your homeland. You accepted and bore witness (to this).
التفاسير العربية:
ثُمَّ أَنتُمۡ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ تَقۡتُلُونَ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَتُخۡرِجُونَ فَرِيقٗا مِّنكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِهِمۡ تَظَٰهَرُونَ عَلَيۡهِم بِٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٰنِ وَإِن يَأۡتُوكُمۡ أُسَٰرَىٰ تُفَٰدُوهُمۡ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِخۡرَاجُهُمۡۚ أَفَتُؤۡمِنُونَ بِبَعۡضِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَتَكۡفُرُونَ بِبَعۡضٖۚ فَمَا جَزَآءُ مَن يَفۡعَلُ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمۡ إِلَّا خِزۡيٞ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰٓ أَشَدِّ ٱلۡعَذَابِۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
85. Yet it is you who kill one another and expel a party from among you out of their homeland, rallying against them in sin and transgression, but if they come to you as captives you ransom them - while their expelling out (of their homeland) was unlawful for you. Do you then believe in a part of the Scripture and deny the other? What then is the recompense of such among you as do this except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the most grievous torment? Allah is not unaware of what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشۡتَرَوُاْ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنۡهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
86.These are the ones who have bought the life of this world (in exchange) for the Hereafter, so their torment will not be eased nor will they be helped.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَقَفَّيۡنَا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ بِٱلرُّسُلِۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَا عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَيَّدۡنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلۡقُدُسِۗ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمۡ رَسُولُۢ بِمَا لَا تَهۡوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُكُمُ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ فَفَرِيقٗا كَذَّبۡتُمۡ وَفَرِيقٗا تَقۡتُلُونَ
87. We gave Moses the Scripture (the Torah) and sent messengers after him one after another, and gave Jesus, the son of Maryam, clear Signs and strengthened him by the holy spirit (the angel Gabriel). Whenever then a messenger came to you with that which your selves did not desire, you become disdainful, denying some of them, and killing others?
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ كِتَٰبٞ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٞ لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡ وَكَانُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ يَسۡتَفۡتِحُونَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مَّا عَرَفُواْ كَفَرُواْ بِهِۦۚ فَلَعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
89. When there came to them a Book (the Qur’an) from Allah (God) confirming that which they have, although before it they used to pray for victory (by the expectance of the coming Prophet) against those who disbelieve (i.e., the pagans), but when there came to them that which they recognized (the Prophet Muhammad), they denied him; so God's Curse is on the Deniers.
التفاسير العربية:
بِئۡسَمَا ٱشۡتَرَوۡاْ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمۡ أَن يَكۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بَغۡيًا أَن يُنَزِّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦۖ فَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ عَلَىٰ غَضَبٖۚ وَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ
90. Evil is that for which they have sold their selves - that they deny what Allah (God) has sent down, out of envy that Allah sends down of His bounty on whomsoever of His servants He wills. So they have made themselves deserving of Wrath20 upon Wrath21. There is a disgraceful torment for the Deniers (of the Truth).

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ ءَامِنُواْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ نُؤۡمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡنَا وَيَكۡفُرُونَ بِمَا وَرَآءَهُۥ وَهُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡۗ قُلۡ فَلِمَ تَقۡتُلُونَ أَنۢبِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ مِن قَبۡلُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
91. When they are told: "Believe in what Allah has sent down (of the Qur'an)," they say: "We believe (only) in that which was sent down to us;" and they deny in that which comes after it, while it is the Truth confirming their own (original) Scripture. Say: "Why then were you slaying God’s Prophets before, if you were indeed believers?"
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ وَرَفَعۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمُ ٱلطُّورَ خُذُواْ مَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٖ وَٱسۡمَعُواْۖ قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَعَصَيۡنَا وَأُشۡرِبُواْ فِي قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡعِجۡلَ بِكُفۡرِهِمۡۚ قُلۡ بِئۡسَمَا يَأۡمُرُكُم بِهِۦٓ إِيمَٰنُكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
93. When We made a covenant with you and raised mount (Tur, Sinai) over you (saying): "Take hold of what We have given you (of the Torah) with determination and be obedient." They said: "We hear and disobey." They were made to absorb (the love of) the calf into their hearts, because of their going back on their Covenant and because of their faithlessness. Say: "Evil is what your faith commands you, if you should be believers."
التفاسير العربية:
قُلۡ إِن كَانَتۡ لَكُمُ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَالِصَةٗ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُاْ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
94. Say: "If the Home of the Hereafter with Allah is especially for you (Jews, as you assume) to the exclusion of the rest of the people, then long for death, if you are truthful."
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٖ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ يُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةٖ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ
96. You will certainly find them (the Jews) the greediest of all men for life, even more than the pagans. Each one of them wishes that he gladly live for a thousand years, but his being granted a long life will in no way remove him further away from the torment. Allah sees what they do.
التفاسير العربية:
قُلۡ مَن كَانَ عَدُوّٗا لِّـجِبۡرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُۥ نَزَّلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِكَ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٗا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ وَهُدٗى وَبُشۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
97. Say: "Whoever is the enemy of Gabriel - then (know that) he brought it (this Qur’an) down upon your heart by Allah’s Will, as a confirmation of (original) Scripture, and as guidance and good news for the believers.
التفاسير العربية:
مَن كَانَ عَدُوّٗا لِّلَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَجِبۡرِيلَ وَمِيكَىٰلَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَدُوّٞ لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
98. Whoever is the enemy of Allah, His angels, His messengers, Gabriel, and Micheal, for surely Allah is the enemy of the Deniers (who hide and cover the Truth).
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٞ لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٞ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمۡ كَأَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ
101. When a messenger of Allah came to them confirming what was with them (of revelation), a party of those who were given the Scripture (i.e., Jews), threw the Book of Allah (the Torah) behind their backs, as if they knew nothing22.
22. What it said about believing in the Messenger of God, the Prophet Muhammad.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱتَّبَعُواْ مَا تَتۡلُواْ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلۡكِ سُلَيۡمَٰنَۖ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيۡمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحۡرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلۡمَلَكَيۡنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَۚ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنۡ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ فِتۡنَةٞ فَلَا تَكۡفُرۡۖ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنۡهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَرۡءِ وَزَوۡجِهِۦۚ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنۡ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمۡ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمۡۚ وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمُواْ لَمَنِ ٱشۡتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِنۡ خَلَٰقٖۚ وَلَبِئۡسَ مَا شَرَوۡاْ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمۡۚ لَوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ
102. They followed (instead) what the devils had falsely related about the kingdom of Solomon. Yet Solomon did not disbelieve (practice sorcery), but the devils disbelieved, teaching people sorcery and that which was sent down to the two angels23 at Babylon, Harut and Marut. These two taught it no one until they said: "We are only a trial (for you), so do not disbelieve." People learned from these two, black magic by which they might cause separation between a man and his wife; but they cannot hurt anyone with it except by God's permission, and they learned what harmed them and did not benefit them, and certainly they know that he who engage in witchcraft would have no share (of good) in the Hereafter. Evil was the price for which they sold their selves, if they only knew.
23. A variant reading has al-malikayn, "the two kings" who were in Babylon - Harut and Marut - here the names stand for the two angels or the two kings.
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَقُولُواْ رَٰعِنَا وَقُولُواْ ٱنظُرۡنَا وَٱسۡمَعُواْۗ وَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
104. Believers, do not (imitate the Deniers and do not) say (to God's messenger): Ra’ina (words of ambiguity), but say: Unthurna (words of respect) and listen (to what is recited of the Qur’an). For the Deniers there is a painful torment24.
24. In this Verse there is evidence of severe prohibition to imitate the pagans and the deniers in their words and actions, their dress, their festivals, their worship and other matters that were not prescribed for us or approved by Islam.
التفاسير العربية:
مَّا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَلَا ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٖ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَخۡتَصُّ بِرَحۡمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلۡفَضۡلِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
105. Those who deny (the Truth) from among the followers of the (earlier) Scripture (i.e., Jews and Nazarenes) and the pagans do not like that any good thing should be sent down to you (believers) from (Allah) your Lord. Allah reserves His mercy for whom He wills. For Allah is the Lord of great bounty.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ مَا نَنسَخۡ مِنۡ ءَايَةٍ أَوۡ نُنسِهَا نَأۡتِ بِخَيۡرٖ مِّنۡهَآ أَوۡ مِثۡلِهَآۗ أَلَمۡ تَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
106. Whatever revelation (even a single Verse) We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah is Able to do all things?
التفاسير العربية:
أَمۡ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسۡـَٔلُواْ رَسُولَكُمۡ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُۗ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ بِٱلۡإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ
108. Or do you want to ask your messenger (Muhammad) something similar to what Moses was asked before? Whoever adopts disbelief instead of Faith, he indeed has lost the right Path (of Islam).
التفاسير العربية:
وَدَّ كَثِيرٞ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَوۡ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ كُفَّارًا حَسَدٗا مِّنۡ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّۖ فَٱعۡفُواْ وَٱصۡفَحُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
109. Many of the followers of the (earlier) Scripture (Jews and Nazarenes) wish that they could turn you back into deniers after your Faith, out of envy from themselves, (even) after the Truth has become manifest to them. Pardon and bear with them until Allah brings about His Command. Allah is Able to do all things.
التفاسير العربية:
وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُواْ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٖ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ
110. Keep up the prayer and pay the poor-rate. Whatever good you send forth for yourselves you shall find it with Allah. For Allah sees what you do25.
25. Believers are commanded to turn their attention away from fruitless arguments and concentrate on matters that are more rewarding and ascertaining of Faith.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالُواْ لَن يَدۡخُلَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَٰرَىٰۗ تِلۡكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمۡۗ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
111. They say: "None shall enter Paradise except those who are Jews or Nazarenes." These are their vain desires. Say: "Bring your proof, if you are truthful."
التفاسير العربية:
بَلَىٰۚ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٞ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
112. No doubt, whoever submits himself entirely to Allah, while being a doer of good will have his reward from his Lord, there is no fear on them, nor shall they grieve.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ وَهُمۡ يَتۡلُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَۗ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ مِثۡلَ قَوۡلِهِمۡۚ فَٱللَّهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
113. The Jews say: "The Nazarenes have no valid ground (for their beliefs)," and the Nazarenes say: "The Jews have no valid ground (for their beliefs)," while they both quote the (same) Scripture. Similarly, those who have no knowledge (i.e., the pagans) say the like of what they say. Allah (God) shall judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in what they differ.
التفاسير العربية:
وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّن مَّنَعَ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّهِ أَن يُذۡكَرَ فِيهَا ٱسۡمُهُۥ وَسَعَىٰ فِي خَرَابِهَآۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَا كَانَ لَهُمۡ أَن يَدۡخُلُوهَآ إِلَّا خَآئِفِينَۚ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا خِزۡيٞ وَلَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
114. Who is more unjust than he who prevents (men) from Allah’s Mosques, that His Name should be remembered therein, and strives to ruin them? (As for) these, it was not proper for them that they should enter it except in fear. There is disgrace for them in this world, and they will have a severe torment in the Hereafter.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗاۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ بَل لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ كُلّٞ لَّهُۥ قَٰنِتُونَ
116. They say: "Allah has taken to Himself a son." Be He glorified and exalted above this; rather, whatever is in the heavens and the earth is His. All are obedient to Him.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ لَوۡلَا يُكَلِّمُنَا ٱللَّهُ أَوۡ تَأۡتِينَآ ءَايَةٞۗ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّثۡلَ قَوۡلِهِمۡۘ تَشَٰبَهَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ قَدۡ بَيَّنَّا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لِقَوۡمٖ يُوقِنُونَ
118. Those (the Christians) who have no knowledge say: "Why does not Allah (God) speak to us (directly), or a Sign come to us?" The same was said by those (Jews) before them. Their hearts are all alike. Indeed, We have shown clearly the Signs to a people who are certain (in Faith).
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ بَشِيرٗا وَنَذِيرٗاۖ وَلَا تُسۡـَٔلُ عَنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
119. We have sent you (Muhammad) with the Truth26 as a bearer of good news and as a warner. You will not be asked about the occupants of the Hellfire.
26. If you love Allah (God), keep His commandments. Jesus said: "I will ask Allah, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is Prophet Muhammad."
He who follows his commandments and obey him i e., the prophet Muhammad is the one who loves God; and he who loves prophet Muhammad will be loved by Allah (God). "If anyone loves God, he will keep prophet’ Muhammad's word; and God will love him, and make good abode for him in Paradise. He who does not love God does not keep prophet Muhammad words. Jesus said, "The Helper, the Spirit of Truth i.e., prophet Muhammad, whom Allah (God) will send, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that in the original Scriptures and more from God."
He who follows his commandments and obey him i e., the prophet Muhammad is the one who loves God; and he who loves prophet Muhammad will be loved by Allah (God). "If anyone loves God, he will keep prophet’ Muhammad's word; and God will love him, and make good abode for him in Paradise. He who does not love God does not keep prophet Muhammad words. Jesus said, "The Helper, the Spirit of Truth i.e., prophet Muhammad, whom Allah (God) will send, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that in the original Scriptures and more from God."
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَن تَرۡضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلۡيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمۡۗ قُلۡ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ هُوَ ٱلۡهُدَىٰۗ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعۡتَ أَهۡوَآءَهُم بَعۡدَ ٱلَّذِي جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِيّٖ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
120. The Jews will not be pleased with you (Muslims), nor the Nazarenes (i.e., Christians) until you follow their faith (and way of life). Say: "Allah’s Guidance (of the Religion of Islam), that is the (right) Guidance." If you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, then you would have against Allah neither any protector, nor helper (intercessor).
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ يَتۡلُونَهُۥ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦۗ وَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِهِۦ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
121. Those to whom We have given the Scripture recite (and apply its teachings to their lives) as it should be recited (and applied)27. These believe in it. Whoever denies it (the Qur’an), they are the losers.
27. Applying the Qur’an by action is the duty of all people. If we don’t apply it in our lives, the Qur’an becomes nothing more to us than a normal book. The first step toward applying God’s Word in our lives is reading it. Our goal in reading is to get to know Allah (God), to learn His ways, and to understand His purpose of life. Our next goal is that we keep God’s Word in our hearts by studying, memorizing, and contemplating on what we have first read. These four steps: read, study, memorize, contemplate - make it possible to successfully apply the Qur’an to our lives. If we desire for the Word to take root in our lives so that we produce a harvest that pleases Allah, we must ponder, reflect, and contemplate on what we read and study in the Qur’an. The application of the Qur’an enforces and further enlightens our study, and it also serves to sharpen our discernment, helping us to better distinguish between good and evil.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱتَّقُواْ يَوۡمٗا لَّا تَجۡزِي نَفۡسٌ عَن نَّفۡسٖ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يُقۡبَلُ مِنۡهَا عَدۡلٞ وَلَا تَنفَعُهَا شَفَٰعَةٞ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
123. Safeguard (yourselves) against a Day when no person will help another in the least; neither will any ransom be accepted from him, nor will intercession benefit him, nor will they be helped.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَإِذِ ٱبۡتَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ رَبُّهُۥ بِكَلِمَٰتٖ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّۖ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامٗاۖ قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِيۖ قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهۡدِي ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
124. (Mention Muhammad) when Abraham was tested by his Lord (Allah) with words (certain Commandments)28, he fulfilled them all. (Allah) said: "I will make you a leader of the people." Abraham said: "And of my offspring?" (Allah said): "My Covenant does not include the unjust."
28. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Five practices are characteristic of Al-Fitrah: (1) Circumcision. (2) Shaving the pubic hair. (3) Cutting the moustaches short. (4) Clipping the nails. (5) and depilating the hair of the armpits.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ جَعَلۡنَا ٱلۡبَيۡتَ مَثَابَةٗ لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَمۡنٗا وَٱتَّخِذُواْ مِن مَّقَامِ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ مُصَلّٗىۖ وَعَهِدۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ أَن طَهِّرَا بَيۡتِيَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَٱلۡعَٰكِفِينَ وَٱلرُّكَّعِ ٱلسُّجُودِ
125. We made the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) a place of refuge and sanctuary for the people. Take Abraham's standing-place (when building the Ka'bah) as a place of prayer. We advised Abraham and Ishmael to keep My House (the Ka’bah) clean for the pilgrims, the worshippers and those who bow down (and) prostrate themselves in worship.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡ هَٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنٗا وَٱرۡزُقۡ أَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ مِنۡهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۚ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ قَلِيلٗا ثُمَّ أَضۡطَرُّهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
126. When Abraham prayed saying: "Lord (Allah), make this town (Makkah) a secure place and provide its people with plenty of produce, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day". (Allah) said: "Whoever denies (the Truth of Islam), I will grant him enjoyment for a short while, then I will drive him to the torment of the Fire." What a terrible destination.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ يَرۡفَعُ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
127. While Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House, they prayed: "Lord (Allah), accept from us. You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing".
التفاسير العربية:
رَبَّنَا وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا مُسۡلِمَيۡنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةٗ مُّسۡلِمَةٗ لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبۡ عَلَيۡنَآۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
128. Our Lord (Allah), make us both submissive to You and (raise) from our offspring a nation submitting to You, and show us our ways of devotion, and turn to us (mercifully). You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.
التفاسير العربية:
رَبَّنَا وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِيهِمۡ رَسُولٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمۡۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
129. Our Lord (Allah), send to them (our descendants) a messenger among them who will recite to them Your verses, teach them the Scripture, Wisdom, and purify them. You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."
التفاسير العربية:
وَمَن يَرۡغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفۡسَهُۥۚ وَلَقَدِ ٱصۡطَفَيۡنَٰهُ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
130. Who turns away from the creed of Abraham (i.e., Islam) except one who fools himself. We have chosen him in this world, and in the Hereafter - he is among the righteous (in the highest rank of Heaven).
التفاسير العربية:
وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعۡقُوبُ يَٰبَنِيَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ
132. Abraham left this legacy to his sons and (so did) Jacob (saying): "O my sons, Allah has approved for you (this) Faith (of Islam), so do not die except as Muslims."
التفاسير العربية:
أَمۡ كُنتُمۡ شُهَدَآءَ إِذۡ حَضَرَ يَعۡقُوبَ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ إِذۡ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِيۖ قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ إِلَٰهَكَ وَإِلَٰهَ ءَابَآئِكَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ إِلَٰهٗا وَٰحِدٗا وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ
133. Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons: "What will you worship after me?" They said: "We shall only worship your God and the God of your fathers Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac, (solely) one God (Allah), and to Him (alone) do we submit.
التفاسير العربية:
تِلۡكَ أُمَّةٞ قَدۡ خَلَتۡۖ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبۡتُمۡۖ وَلَا تُسۡـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
134. That nation is gone. They are responsible for what they earned (of good or evil) and you are responsible for what you earn. You will not be asked of what they used to do.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالُواْ كُونُواْ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهۡتَدُواْۗ قُلۡ بَلۡ مِلَّةَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفٗاۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
135. They say: "Be Jews or Nazarenes (i.e., Christians), you will be rightly guided." Say: 'Rather, (we follow Islam) the upright Creed of Abraham, and he was not a pagan."

قُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَآ أُوتِيَ ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ
136. (Muslims), say: "We believe in Allah (God) and what has been revealed to us, and what has been revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and (to the prophets) from his descendants, and what was given (of Scriptures) to Moses, Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord, we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him (Allah) do we submit."
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِنۡ ءَامَنُواْ بِمِثۡلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهۡتَدَواْۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا هُمۡ فِي شِقَاقٖۖ فَسَيَكۡفِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
137. So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been rightly guided; but if they turn away, it would be for no reason other than their own malice. Allah (God) is a sufficient defender for you against them. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
التفاسير العربية:
صِبۡغَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ صِبۡغَةٗۖ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ عَٰبِدُونَ
138. Islam is the baptism of Allah (God)29. No one is better baptizer than Allah. and We are His worshipers.
29. Whoever believes and is baptized in Islam will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Baptism is used here as a Muslim sacrament marked by ritual use of water taking total bath after embracing Islam by bearing witness that none is worthy of worship but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that Jesus is the servant of Allah and His messenger, and His word that He bestowed on Mary, and a soul from Allah, testifying that Paradise is real and Hell is real, and admitting the recipient to the Muslim community by performing the prayer and paying the poor-rate. This rite is the personal and public identification with Allah and His messenger Muhammad, accepting Islam as the only true religion of God and as a way of life. Baptism in Islam is a symbol of a believer’s dedication toward Allah (God) and his teachings and obeying His last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad. It is the most important promise you can make in your life.
التفاسير العربية:
قُلۡ أَتُحَآجُّونَنَا فِي ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمۡ وَلَنَآ أَعۡمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُخۡلِصُونَ
139. Say (to the Jews and Christians): "Do you dispute with us about Allah, and He is our Lord and your Lord and we shall have our deeds and you shall have your deeds. We are ever sincere and devoted to Him."
التفاسير العربية:
أَمۡ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطَ كَانُواْ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَٰرَىٰۗ قُلۡ ءَأَنتُمۡ أَعۡلَمُ أَمِ ٱللَّهُۗ وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَٰدَةً عِندَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
140. Or do you say that Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and (the prophets from) his descendants, were Jews or Nazarenes (i.e., Christians)? Say: "Are you better knowing or Allah?" Who is more unjust than he who refuses to testify to the truth that he has from Allah? But Allah is not unaware of what you do.

۞ سَيَقُولُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَا وَلَّىٰهُمۡ عَن قِبۡلَتِهِمُ ٱلَّتِي كَانُواْ عَلَيۡهَاۚ قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقُ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبُۚ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
142. Fools among the people30 will soon say: "What has turned them (the Muslims) from their Qiblah (the prayer direction towards Jerusalem) which they used to face31? Say: "The East and the West belong only to Allah (God)." He guides whom He wills to a Right Path (i.e., Islam).

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَسَطٗا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ شَهِيدٗاۗ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا ٱلۡقِبۡلَةَ ٱلَّتِي كُنتَ عَلَيۡهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعۡلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيۡهِۚ وَإِن كَانَتۡ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّهُۗ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞ
143. Thus We have made you (Muslims) a medium (just and the best) nation32 that you be witness over the people and (that) the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you. We did not make the direction which you used to face for prayer except that We might distinguish him who follows the messenger from him who turns back upon his heels. It was certainly heavy except for those whom Allah has guided. Never Allah would make your faith (prayers) go to waste, for Allah is Affectionate, Merciful to the people.
32. Between negligence and extremism.
التفاسير العربية:
قَدۡ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجۡهِكَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِۖ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبۡلَةٗ تَرۡضَىٰهَاۚ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ لَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ
144. We see the turning of your face to the heaven33, so We shall turn you to a direction which you shall like. So turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah), and wherever you are, turn your faces towards it. Those who have been given the Scripture certainly know that it is the Truth from (Allah) their Lord. Allah is not unaware of what you do.
33. The Prophet Muhammad was awaiting the command to change the qiblah (the direction of the prayer); so he used to look up at the sky.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَئِنۡ أَتَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِكُلِّ ءَايَةٖ مَّا تَبِعُواْ قِبۡلَتَكَۚ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِتَابِعٖ قِبۡلَتَهُمۡۚ وَمَا بَعۡضُهُم بِتَابِعٖ قِبۡلَةَ بَعۡضٖۚ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعۡتَ أَهۡوَآءَهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ إِنَّكَ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
145. Even if you were to bring to those (Jews and Nazarenes) who have been given the Scripture34 all kinds of authoritative proof they would not follow your Qiblah, nor can you be a follower of their Qiblah. Neither are they35 the followers of each other’s Qiblah. If you follow their desires after the (Divine) Knowledge that has come to you, then you will certainly be among the unjust.
34. Who persist in denying the Truth and are arrogant.

التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ يَعۡرِفُونَهُۥ كَمَا يَعۡرِفُونَ أَبۡنَآءَهُمۡۖ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ لَيَكۡتُمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُونَ
146. Those (learned Jews and Christians) to whom We have given the Scripture know him (Muhammad) as they know their sons36, and a party of them certainly hide the Truth knowingly.

التفاسير العربية:
ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُمۡتَرِينَ

وَلِكُلّٖ وِجۡهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَاۖ فَٱسۡتَبِقُواْ ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِۚ أَيۡنَ مَا تَكُونُواْ يَأۡتِ بِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًاۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
148. Every one pursues his goal. Compete with one another in performing good deeds. Wherever you may be, Allah (God) will bring you all together (for Judgment). Allah has full Power over all things.
التفاسير العربية:
وَمِنۡ حَيۡثُ خَرَجۡتَ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
149. So from wherever you go out (for prayer) turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah). It is the very Truth from (Allah) your Lord. Allah is not unaware of what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
وَمِنۡ حَيۡثُ خَرَجۡتَ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَٱخۡشَوۡنِي وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتِي عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ
150. Wherever you go out (to prayer), turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah); and wherever you (believers) may be, turn your faces towards it, so that the people37 may have no argument against you, unless they be those of them who are unjust; so do not fear them38, but fear Me - that I (Allah) may complete My Favor upon you and that you may be guided.

38. It is no wonder that the message to “Fear not…” appears so frequently in the Qur’an. Fear does, after all, have a way of creeping in on us, though we may close the windows tight and double check the doors. We might fear losing someone dear to us, or worry about our future or our children’s. When we close our eyes for a night’s sleep, our minds may begin turning over a hundred what-ifs about tomorrow, filling us with anxiety about circumstances beyond our control. While fear is a common human experience, the Quran's promise that Allah is Our Protector, for Allah is always with Us.

التفاسير العربية:
كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيكُمۡ رَسُولٗا مِّنكُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيكُمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡلَمُونَ
151. Just as We have sent among you a messenger (the Prophet Muhammad) from yourselves who recites to you Our Verses, purifies you, teaches you the Book (Qur’an) and the Wisdom, and teaches you that which you did not know.
التفاسير العربية:
فَٱذۡكُرُونِيٓ أَذۡكُرۡكُمۡ وَٱشۡكُرُواْ لِي وَلَا تَكۡفُرُونِ
152. So, remember Me (by praying and glorifying), I will remember you39; be grateful to Me, and do not deny Me.
39.The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah (God) says: 'I am just as My servant thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.' "
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱسۡتَعِينُواْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
40. Here is evidence of Allah’s ’s particular companionship with the the faithful; leading to His guidance and support.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡخَوۡفِ وَٱلۡجُوعِ وَنَقۡصٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
155. We shall try you with somewhat of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives, and crops. So give good news to the patient41,
41. Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive much rewards and favors, which Allah has promised to those who are patient during hardships.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنۡ حَجَّ ٱلۡبَيۡتَ أَوِ ٱعۡتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَاۚ وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيۡرٗا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
158. Safa and Marwah42 are reminders of God’s (Love)43; so whoever makes a major or lesser pilgrimage to the House (the Ka’bah in Makkah), there is no blame on him if he goes round them both (seven times). Whoever willingly does good deed in obedience to Allah, then Allah is Most Appreciative, All-Knowing.
42. Names of two small mountains in Makkah. They are reminders of God’s Love as Allah settled Ismael and his mother Hagar in Mecca, near which they had found relief and water at the Well of Zamzam. Ismail is associated with the construction of the Ka'aba and considered the ancestor to prophet Muhammad.
43. That He hears your prayers and forgives your sins, if you come to Him with pure heart full of submission, free of polytheism, hypocrisy, and arrogance.

التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلۡهُدَىٰ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا بَيَّنَّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَلۡعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَلۡعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّٰعِنُونَ
159. Those who hide the clear proofs and the guidance that We sent down after We made it clear for the people in the Book, these are they whom Allah (God) shall curse, and those who curse (among God's creatures) shall curse them (too).
التفاسير العربية:
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ وَأَصۡلَحُواْ وَبَيَّنُواْ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَأَنَا ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
160. Except those who repent and live righteously and make manifest (the Truth they concealed), these are they to whom I (Allah) turn to (mercifully); for I am the Accepter of Repentance, the Most Merciful.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمۡ كُفَّارٌ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ لَعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجۡمَعِينَ
161. Those who deny (Allah and His Messenger Muhammad) and die while they are deniers, these are they on whom is the Curse of Allah (God), the angels and all of mankind;

إِنَّ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلَّتِي تَجۡرِي فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن مَّآءٖ فَأَحۡيَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٖ وَتَصۡرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ وَٱلسَّحَابِ ٱلۡمُسَخَّرِ بَيۡنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ
164. In the creation of the heavens and the earth, the alternation of the night and day, the ships that sail in the sea with that which benefits the people, the water which Allah sends down from the sky reviving thereby the earth after its death, the spreading all (kinds of) animals therein, the directing of winds and the clouds made subservient for service between the sky and the earth are certainly Signs (of the Onness of God) for a people who understand.
التفاسير العربية:
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَندَادٗا يُحِبُّونَهُمۡ كَحُبِّ ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَشَدُّ حُبّٗا لِّلَّهِۗ وَلَوۡ يَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ إِذۡ يَرَوۡنَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ أَنَّ ٱلۡقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعٗا وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ
165. However, among the people are those who take for themselves objects of worship besides Allah, whom they love as they love Allah. Those who believe (in Allah and His messenger) are stronger in love for Allah44. If those who work iniquity (by associating others with Allah) would consider (that) when they see the torment, (they would realize) that to Allah belongs all-Power, and that He is Severe in His torment.
44. Muhammad, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever loves for the sake of Allah (God), hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah has perfected the faith.”

for the sake of Allah, would get A llah’s friendship. Without abiding by this, no one can get the real taste (sweetness) of Faith though he may have been a frequent offerer of prayer and fasts. Today people keep relationship, and love only for some worldly reason but this will not provide them any benefit on the Day of Judgement.

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُواْ لَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنۡهُمۡ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُواْ مِنَّاۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ حَسَرَٰتٍ عَلَيۡهِمۡۖ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ
167. The followers will say: "Had there been for us another chance, so we would have denounced them as they have denounced us." Thus will Allah show them their deeds to be intense regret to them, and they will not come out of the Fire.
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ كُلُواْ مِمَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ حَلَٰلٗا طَيِّبٗا وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٌ
168. People, eat of the lawful and good things out of what is in the earth45. Do not follow the footsteps of Satan; he is clearly your sworn enemy.
45. Two conditions for consuming food: lawful, and beneficial; not harmful.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ بَلۡ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ أَلۡفَيۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَهۡتَدُونَ
170. When they are asked to follow what Allah has sent down (of Revelation), they say: "Rather, we only follow what we found our fathers upon. Even though their fathers had no sense at all, nor did they follow the right Way.

وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِي يَنۡعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسۡمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَآءٗ وَنِدَآءٗۚ صُمُّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡيٞ فَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ
171. The example of those who deny is as of one who calls out to (cattle) which hears no more than a call and a cry - deaf, dumb (and) blind, so they do not understand.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحۡمَ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ غَيۡرَ بَاغٖ وَلَا عَادٖ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ
173. He has only forbidden to eat 'the flesh of' dead animals, blood, pork, and the flesh of any animal which has not been consecrated with the mentioning of the Name of Allah. Whoever is driven by necessity, not desiring, nor exceeding the limit, no sin shall be upon him. Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَيَشۡتَرُونَ بِهِۦ ثَمَنٗا قَلِيلًا أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَا يَأۡكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمۡ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
174. Those who hide any part of the Book that Allah has sent down and take for it a small price, they eat nothing but fire into their bellies, Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they shall have a painful torment.
التفاسير العربية:
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ نَزَّلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِي ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَفِي شِقَاقِۭ بَعِيدٖ
176. This is because Allah (God) has sent down the Book (the Qur’an) in Truth; and those who dispute over the Book46 are filled with malice which has taken them far away (from the Truth).

۞ لَّيۡسَ ٱلۡبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ قِبَلَ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلۡبِرَّ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلۡمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبۡنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِي ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلۡمُوفُونَ بِعَهۡدِهِمۡ إِذَا عَٰهَدُواْۖ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِي ٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلۡبَأۡسِۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُواْۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ
177. Righteousness is not that you turn your faces towards the East and the West (during prayer), but righteousness is (in the one) who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book (This Qur'an), the prophets, who gives money for the love of God, to (the poor) relatives, orphans, the destitute, the (stranded) traveler47, beggars, for (the emancipation of) captives, who keeps up the prayer, pays the poor-rate, (who) fulfills their promise when they promise, and is patient during poverty and ailment and when meeting an enemy. These are the ones who are true (to themselves) and it is these who are truly pious and God-fearing.
47. This also applies to the strangers and foreigners who are left without means whilst travelling, being away from home, and those in a land they belong not to them and live with them.If a stranger or foreigner from other country stays in your land you must not cause him stress and anxiety. The stranger or foreigner that is resident in your land must be unto you as one born among you, and show him affection and mercy.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡقِصَاصُ فِي ٱلۡقَتۡلَىۖ ٱلۡحُرُّ بِٱلۡحُرِّ وَٱلۡعَبۡدُ بِٱلۡعَبۡدِ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ بِٱلۡأُنثَىٰۚ فَمَنۡ عُفِيَ لَهُۥ مِنۡ أَخِيهِ شَيۡءٞ فَٱتِّبَاعُۢ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ وَأَدَآءٌ إِلَيۡهِ بِإِحۡسَٰنٖۗ ذَٰلِكَ تَخۡفِيفٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَةٞۗ فَمَنِ ٱعۡتَدَىٰ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
178. Believers, just retaliation is ordained for you in case of murder, a free man for a free man, a slave for a slave, and a female for a female. However, if the convicted person (i.e., the killer) receives pardon from his brother - the aggrieved party (by taking blood money) - then a fair compensation should be set and paid in best way. This is an alleviation from (Allah) your Lord and a Mercy. Whoever transgresses after this (settlement), he shall have a painful torment.

كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ إِن تَرَكَ خَيۡرًا ٱلۡوَصِيَّةُ لِلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
180. Leaving a legacy is ordained for you when death approaches one of you if he leaves wealth, he should bequeath it to his parents and relatives according to the law48. A duty (incumbent) upon the pious ones49.

فَمَنۢ بَدَّلَهُۥ بَعۡدَ مَا سَمِعَهُۥ فَإِنَّمَآ إِثۡمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
181. Whoever alters it (the will of a deceased person) after he has heard it, the sin of it then is only upon those who alter it. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ
183. Believers, fasting is ordained for you50, as it was ordained for those before you, so that you may fear Allah and keep His Commandments51.
50. Muhammad, God's Messenger said, "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven."

أَيَّامٗا مَّعۡدُودَٰتٖۚ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٖ فَعِدَّةٞ مِّنۡ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَۚ وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُۥ فِدۡيَةٞ طَعَامُ مِسۡكِينٖۖ فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيۡرٗا فَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّهُۥۚ وَأَن تَصُومُواْ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
184. A certain number of days. Whoever among you is sick or on a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days. Those who are not able to fast may effect a redemption by feeding a poor person (for each day). Whoever volunteers to give more, it is better for him; and that you fast is better for you, if you only knew52.

شَهۡرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ هُدٗى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَٰتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَٱلۡفُرۡقَانِۚ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّهۡرَ فَلۡيَصُمۡهُۖ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٖ فَعِدَّةٞ مِّنۡ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَۗ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلۡيُسۡرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلۡعُسۡرَ وَلِتُكۡمِلُواْ ٱلۡعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُواْ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمۡ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ
185. The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur’an was sent down; a guide to the people, the most authoritative of all guidance and a criteria to discern right from wrong. So whoever of you witnesses this month, should fast. He who is sick or upon a journey, has to fast a (like) number of other days. Allah wants ease for you, and He does not want for you hardship, (He desires) that you complete the fast and to glorify Allah for what He has guided you, and that you may give (Him) thanks.

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡشُدُونَ
186. If any of My worshippers ask you about Me53, then I am near. I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so let them answer My call and believe in Me that they may be rightly guided54.

A group of followers of the Prophet asked him, ‘Is 'Allah' our Lord nearby so that we should talk to Him secretly, or is He far away, so that we should call out to him?’ Then this Verse was revealed. God’s nearness means that one need not raise one’s voice or ask for intercession for God to hear one’s Prayers and answer them. God takes on the answer directly to His servants without the need for intercession.
54. Muhammad, God's Messenger said, "God said, ‘I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine. And the most beloved things with which My slave comes nearer to Me, is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing extra good deeds besides what is obligatory till I love him. Then I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; (i.e. give him My Refuge), and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him."

أُحِلَّ لَكُمۡ لَيۡلَةَ ٱلصِّيَامِ ٱلرَّفَثُ إِلَىٰ نِسَآئِكُمۡۚ هُنَّ لِبَاسٞ لَّكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ لِبَاسٞ لَّهُنَّۗ عَلِمَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ تَخۡتَانُونَ أَنفُسَكُمۡ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَعَفَا عَنكُمۡۖ فَٱلۡـَٰٔنَ بَٰشِرُوهُنَّ وَٱبۡتَغُواْ مَا كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡۚ وَكُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡخَيۡطُ ٱلۡأَبۡيَضُ مِنَ ٱلۡخَيۡطِ ٱلۡأَسۡوَدِ مِنَ ٱلۡفَجۡرِۖ ثُمَّ أَتِمُّواْ ٱلصِّيَامَ إِلَى ٱلَّيۡلِۚ وَلَا تُبَٰشِرُوهُنَّ وَأَنتُمۡ عَٰكِفُونَ فِي ٱلۡمَسَٰجِدِۗ تِلۡكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَقۡرَبُوهَاۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَّقُونَ
187. It is lawful for you during the nights of the fast to have carnal relations with your wives. They are a clothing for you just as you are a clothing for them. Allah knew that you acted unfaithfully to yourselves55, so He has turned to you (mercifully) and removed from you (this burden); so now you may approach them (your wives) intimately56 (on the nights of the fast) and seek what Allah has ordained for you. Eat and drink until the whiteness of the day becomes distinct from the blackness of the night at dawn, then complete the fast until the nightfall (i.e., sunset). Do not have carnal relations with them (your wives) while you keep yourselves in the mosques (for worship). These are the set Limits of Allah, so do not approach them. Thus does Allah make clear His Verses for the people that they may fear Allah and shun evil.
55. By secretly doing what was prohibited to you of having carnal relations with your wives during the nights of Ramadan.
56. Prior to this revelation, marital relations were unlawful during nights preceding fasting. Some were unable to refrain and secretly disobeyed, but Allah accepted their repentance, and then it was made lawful.

وَلَا تَأۡكُلُوٓاْ أَمۡوَٰلَكُم بَيۡنَكُم بِٱلۡبَٰطِلِ وَتُدۡلُواْ بِهَآ إِلَى ٱلۡحُكَّامِ لِتَأۡكُلُواْ فَرِيقٗا مِّنۡ أَمۡوَٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
188. Do not consume your wealth among yourselves in illegal ways, nor give bribery to the rulers (judges) that you may wrongly acquire a part of the wealth of the people knowingly57.
57. Muhammad, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him said, “God has cursed the one who offers a bribe and the one who receives a bribe.”
التفاسير العربية:
۞ يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡأَهِلَّةِۖ قُلۡ هِيَ مَوَٰقِيتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَٱلۡحَجِّۗ وَلَيۡسَ ٱلۡبِرُّ بِأَن تَأۡتُواْ ٱلۡبُيُوتَ مِن ظُهُورِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلۡبِرَّ مَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۗ وَأۡتُواْ ٱلۡبُيُوتَ مِنۡ أَبۡوَٰبِهَاۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
189. They ask you about the different phaces of the moon. Say: "They are there to indicate to people the phases of time and the Pilgrimage season." It is not a righteous act to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is (found in) the one who guards against evil. So enter houses through their proper doors. Fear Allah and keep His Commandments, that you may succeed.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَٰتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡتَدُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَ
190. Fight in the Way of Allah those who fight you58, but do not transgress. Allah does not like the transgressors.
58. A companion of the prophet said, i asked God’s Messenger, "What is the best deed in Islam?" He replied, "To perform the prayers at their early stated times." I asked, "What is next in goodness?" He replied, "To be good and kind to your parents." I further asked, "What is next in goodness?" He replied, "To participate in Jihâd for God’s Cause."

وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ حَيۡثُ ثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡ وَأَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّنۡ حَيۡثُ أَخۡرَجُوكُمۡۚ وَٱلۡفِتۡنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ ٱلۡقَتۡلِۚ وَلَا تُقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ عِندَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ حَتَّىٰ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ فِيهِۖ فَإِن قَٰتَلُوكُمۡ فَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡۗ كَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
191. Kill them (the aggressors) wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out. Idolatry and its imposition on others is severer than killing. Do not fight them in the vicinity of the sacred Mosque (in Makkah) unless they fight with you in it first. If they fight you, then kill them; such is the recompense of the deniers.

فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوۡاْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

وَقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتۡنَةٞ وَيَكُونَ ٱلدِّينُ لِلَّهِۖ فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوۡاْ فَلَا عُدۡوَٰنَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
193. Fight them so that there will be no idolatry (and injustice), and God's religion will become dominant. If they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the unjust.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلشَّهۡرُ ٱلۡحَرَامُ بِٱلشَّهۡرِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ وَٱلۡحُرُمَٰتُ قِصَاصٞۚ فَمَنِ ٱعۡتَدَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَٱعۡتَدُواْ عَلَيۡهِ بِمِثۡلِ مَا ٱعۡتَدَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
194. (Aggression committed in) the Sacred months (can be dealt with) in the Sacred months, and for (all) violations is legal retribution. If one transgresses against you, you may also retaliate against them to an equal extent. Fear Allah and Know that Allah is with the pious ones.
التفاسير العربية:
وَأَنفِقُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تُلۡقُواْ بِأَيۡدِيكُمۡ إِلَى ٱلتَّهۡلُكَةِ وَأَحۡسِنُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
195. Spend in the Cause of Allah, but do not push yourselves into perdition with your own hands59. Do good60, for Allah loves those who do good (and give generously).
59. By abandoning the Jihâd in the Cause of God or withholding the money needed for it.
60. Let us not become weary in doing good, for Allah will reward us, and at the right time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Let us do good to all people, especially to those who fight for the Cause of Allah and the preachers who call the people to the Way of Allah, and the family of believers in general.

وَأَتِمُّواْ ٱلۡحَجَّ وَٱلۡعُمۡرَةَ لِلَّهِۚ فَإِنۡ أُحۡصِرۡتُمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَيۡسَرَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَدۡيِۖ وَلَا تَحۡلِقُواْ رُءُوسَكُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَبۡلُغَ ٱلۡهَدۡيُ مَحِلَّهُۥۚ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوۡ بِهِۦٓ أَذٗى مِّن رَّأۡسِهِۦ فَفِدۡيَةٞ مِّن صِيَامٍ أَوۡ صَدَقَةٍ أَوۡ نُسُكٖۚ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمۡ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلۡعُمۡرَةِ إِلَى ٱلۡحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسۡتَيۡسَرَ مِنَ ٱلۡهَدۡيِۚ فَمَن لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٖ فِي ٱلۡحَجِّ وَسَبۡعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعۡتُمۡۗ تِلۡكَ عَشَرَةٞ كَامِلَةٞۗ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن لَّمۡ يَكُنۡ أَهۡلُهُۥ حَاضِرِي ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
196. Complete the Hajj and the ‘Umra61for Allah alone, but if you are prevented, then (send) whatever offering62 that is easy to obtain, and do not shave your heads until the offering reaches its destination. If one of you is sick or has an ailment in his scalp (necessitating shaving) then (he should offer) a compensation by fasting or alms or sacrificial offering63, then when you are secure, whoever combines the ‘Umra with the Pilgrimage (should take) whatever offering is easy to obtain. Whoever cannot find (any offering) should fast for three days during the pilgrimage, and for seven days when you return - these (make) ten (days) complete - this is for him whose family is not resident in the Sacred Mosque. Fear Allah and keep to His Commandments, and know that Allah is Severe in Retribution.

التفاسير العربية:
ٱلۡحَجُّ أَشۡهُرٞ مَّعۡلُومَٰتٞۚ فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ ٱلۡحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ فِي ٱلۡحَجِّۗ وَمَا تَفۡعَلُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ يَعۡلَمۡهُ ٱللَّهُۗ وَتَزَوَّدُواْ فَإِنَّ خَيۡرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰۖ وَٱتَّقُونِ يَٰٓأُوْلِي ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
197. The Pilgrimage is (performed in) the well-known months64. Whoever intends the performance of the Pilgrimage (by assuming Ihram), there is to be no carnal relations, nor committing sins, nor disputing during the Hajj. Whatever good you do, Allah knows it. Take provision, for the best provision is 'to live a life of' piety. Fear me and Keep all my Commands always, O you of sound understanding.
64. The months of Shawwal, Dhul Qa’dah, and Dhul Hijjah.
التفاسير العربية:
لَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَبۡتَغُواْ فَضۡلٗا مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡۚ فَإِذَآ أَفَضۡتُم مِّنۡ عَرَفَٰتٖ فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ عِندَ ٱلۡمَشۡعَرِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ وَٱذۡكُرُوهُ كَمَا هَدَىٰكُمۡ وَإِن كُنتُم مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
198. It is not a sin if you seek bounty from (Allah) your Lord (by trading during Hajj). When you depart from Arafat, then honor Allah near the Sacred Monument (in Muzdalifah), and honor Him as He has guided you, though before that you were certainly among those astray.

فَإِذَا قَضَيۡتُم مَّنَٰسِكَكُمۡ فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَذِكۡرِكُمۡ ءَابَآءَكُمۡ أَوۡ أَشَدَّ ذِكۡرٗاۗ فَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَمَا لَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِنۡ خَلَٰقٖ
200. When you have completed your devotions65, then honor Allah (God) just as you would honor your fathers, or even more earnestly. There are some people who say, (O Allah our) Lord, “Give us in the world,” and he has no portion in the Hereafter.
65. I.e., Ihrâm, circling around the Ka‘bah and As-Safâ and Al-Marwah, staying at ‘Arafât, Muzdalifah and Mina, stoning of the specified pillars in Mina and slaughtering the Hady (animal).

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ نَصِيبٞ مِّمَّا كَسَبُواْۚ وَٱللَّهُ سَرِيعُ ٱلۡحِسَابِ

۞ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ فِيٓ أَيَّامٖ مَّعۡدُودَٰتٖۚ فَمَن تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِ وَمَن تَأَخَّرَ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِۖ لِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۗ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّكُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ
203. Honor Allah during the special (three) numbered days66. Whoever hastens (to depart Mina) in the second day67, there is nothing wrong that he has done, and whoever remains behind68 there is nothing wrong that he has done. (This is) for him who keeps My commandments. So fear Allah and shun evil, and know that you shall be gathered together to Him.
66. In the valley of Mina i.e., the 11th, 12th, and 13th of the month of Dul-Hijjah for those performing the Pilgrimage. People are encouraged to mention God in the form of Takbīr abundantly during these days of Tashrīq. That is to say, "Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, la ilaha illallah, wa Allahu akbar, Allah akbar, wa Lillahil-hamd" (Allah is Most Great, Allah is most Great, Allah is most Great, there is no god but Allah, Allah is Most great, Allah is most great, and to Allah be praise)”.

التفاسير العربية:
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يُعۡجِبُكَ قَوۡلُهُۥ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَيُشۡهِدُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا فِي قَلۡبِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَلَدُّ ٱلۡخِصَامِ
204. Among men is he whose speech may please you in this worldly life, and he calls on Allah to witness what is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome opponent.
التفاسير العربية:
هَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِي ظُلَلٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡغَمَامِ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَقُضِيَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ
210. Do they (who fail to fully submit to Allah) then wait anything other than that Allah should come to them with shadows of (white) clouds (to pass Judgment on His creation) and the angels (to execute His orders), so that the matter is settled? And to Allah do all matters return.
التفاسير العربية:
سَلۡ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ كَمۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّنۡ ءَايَةِۭ بَيِّنَةٖۗ وَمَن يُبَدِّلۡ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ
211. Ask the children of Israel how many a clear sign have We given them. Whoever changes the Favor of Allah (i.e., Islam) after it has come to him (for denial), then Allah is Severe in Retribution.
التفاسير العربية:
زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَيَسۡخَرُونَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْۘ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوۡاْ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَرۡزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٖ
212. The life of this world is made to seem attractive to those who deny (the Truth), and they mock at those who believe; but those (believers) who fear Allah and shun evil shall be above them on the Day of Resurrection. Allah gives sustenance to whom he wills without account.

كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِۚ وَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ فَهَدَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ بِإِذۡنِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ
213. Mankind was just one nation (then they began to differ); so Allah sent (to them) Prophets as bearers of good news, and as warners. He sent with them the Scripture in truth, that it might judge between people in that in which they differed. None but the very people who were given it differed about it after clear proofs had come to them, out of mutual jealousy. Allah has guided by His Will those who believed in the Truth concerning that wherein they differed - for Allah guides whom He wills to a right Path (i.e., Islam).

أَمۡ حَسِبۡتُمۡ أَن تَدۡخُلُواْ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأۡتِكُم مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوۡاْ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۖ مَّسَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَأۡسَآءُ وَٱلضَّرَّآءُ وَزُلۡزِلُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ مَتَىٰ نَصۡرُ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ نَصۡرَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِيبٞ
214. Do you think that you will enter Paradise while yet the state of those who have passed on before you has not come upon you? They were touched by poverty and illness and were shaken (by all types of tribulations) that even the messenger and those who believed with him said: "When will the Help of Allah come?" Allah's help is certainly near.

يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَۖ قُلۡ مَآ أَنفَقۡتُم مِّنۡ خَيۡرٖ فَلِلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۗ وَمَا تَفۡعَلُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٞ
215. They ask you as to what they should spend. Say: "Whatever wealth you spend, give it to your parents, the relatives, the orphans, the destitute and the (stranded) traveler (stranger and foreigner)." Whatever good you do, Allah (God) is All-Aware of it.
التفاسير العربية:
كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرۡهٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكۡرَهُواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۖ وَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تُحِبُّواْ شَيۡـٔٗا وَهُوَ شَرّٞ لَّكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
216. Fighting is ordained for you (when and where necessary), but you dislike it; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is bad for you. Allah knows, while you do not know.
التفاسير العربية:
يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلشَّهۡرِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ قِتَالٖ فِيهِۖ قُلۡ قِتَالٞ فِيهِ كَبِيرٞۚ وَصَدٌّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَكُفۡرُۢ بِهِۦ وَٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ وَإِخۡرَاجُ أَهۡلِهِۦ مِنۡهُ أَكۡبَرُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱلۡفِتۡنَةُ أَكۡبَرُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَتۡلِۗ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَرُدُّوكُمۡ عَن دِينِكُمۡ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْۚ وَمَن يَرۡتَدِدۡ مِنكُمۡ عَن دِينِهِۦ فَيَمُتۡ وَهُوَ كَافِرٞ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ حَبِطَتۡ أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
217. They ask you about fighting in the Sacred Month. Say: "Fighting in it is a major sin." But hindering (the people) from Allah’s Way and denying Him, and (hindering people from) the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah), and turning its people out of it are still greater (sins) in the Sight of God. Idolatry is worse than killing. They (the pagans) will not cease fighting with you until they turn you back from your religion if they can. Whoever of you turns back from his religion and dies as a denier - these are they whose deeds shall be void in this world and the Hereafter. They are the inmates of the Fire, therein they will abide forever.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ وَجَٰهَدُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَرۡجُونَ رَحۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
218. Those who believed and those who emigrated and strove hard in the Way of Allah; these it is who hope for the Mercy of Allah - for Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

۞ يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡخَمۡرِ وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرِۖ قُلۡ فِيهِمَآ إِثۡمٞ كَبِيرٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثۡمُهُمَآ أَكۡبَرُ مِن نَّفۡعِهِمَاۗ وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَۖ قُلِ ٱلۡعَفۡوَۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
219. They ask you about alcohol69 and gambling. Say: "In both of them there is a great sin and means of benefit for people, but their sin is greater than their benefit." They ask you as to what they should spend. Say: "The excess70." Thus does Allah make clear to you the Verses, that you may reflect (and realize the Truth).
69. The Prophet Muhammad said, "From among the portents of the Hour are the following: "General ignorance (in religious affairs), (religious) knowledge will decrease, fornication will spread, alcoholic drinks will be drunk (in abundance), men will decrease and women will increase."

فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۗ وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰۖ قُلۡ إِصۡلَاحٞ لَّهُمۡ خَيۡرٞۖ وَإِن تُخَالِطُوهُمۡ فَإِخۡوَٰنُكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَعۡنَتَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
220. About this world and the Hereafter. They ask you about the orphans. Say: "To set right for them (their affairs) is good." If you become co-partners with them, they are your brothers. Allah knows the corrupter from the improver. Had Allah willed, He would certainly have caused you to fall into hardship. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَا تَنكِحُواْ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكَٰتِ حَتَّىٰ يُؤۡمِنَّۚ وَلَأَمَةٞ مُّؤۡمِنَةٌ خَيۡرٞ مِّن مُّشۡرِكَةٖ وَلَوۡ أَعۡجَبَتۡكُمۡۗ وَلَا تُنكِحُواْ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ حَتَّىٰ يُؤۡمِنُواْۚ وَلَعَبۡدٞ مُّؤۡمِنٌ خَيۡرٞ مِّن مُّشۡرِكٖ وَلَوۡ أَعۡجَبَكُمۡۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَدۡعُونَ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَدۡعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلۡجَنَّةِ وَٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ بِإِذۡنِهِۦۖ وَيُبَيِّنُ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
221. Do not marry the idolatresses until they believe. A believing bondwoman is better than an idolatress woman, even though she pleases you. Do not give (believing women) in marriage to idolaters until they believe. A believing bondman is better than an idolater, even though he pleases you. They (the pagans) invite you to the eternal Fire, but Allah invites to Paradise and to Forgiveness by His Grace. Allah makes clear His Verses to the people - that they may take heed.
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡمَحِيضِۖ قُلۡ هُوَ أَذٗى فَٱعۡتَزِلُواْ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فِي ٱلۡمَحِيضِ وَلَا تَقۡرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَطۡهُرۡنَۖ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرۡنَ فَأۡتُوهُنَّ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ أَمَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلتَّوَّٰبِينَ وَيُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُتَطَهِّرِينَ
222. They ask you about women's menses. Say: It is an ailment. Avoid having carnal relations with your wives71 during the menstrual discharge and do not approach them (for carnal relations) until their period is over. Then when they have cleansed themselves (from the menses), you may approach them as Allah has commanded you. Allah loves those who turn much (to Him in repentance), and He loves those who purify themselves and are clean72.
71. I.e., refrain from sexual intercourse during the menstrual discharge. It is prohibited for a man to divorce a menstruating woman during her menses. Women are supposed to maintain proper hygiene and should not perform prayer. They do not have to make up the prayers they missed during menstruation. When the menstruating period is over, women have to perform ritual purification (ghusl, that is total bath).
72. Clean and purify yourselves, stop to do evil. If we confess our sins, Allah is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. let us cleanse ourselves from all the impurity of flesh and spirit, perfecting righteousness in the fear of Allah. Ask Allah to create in you a clean heart. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Allah.
72. Clean and purify yourselves, stop to do evil. التفاسير العربية:
نِسَآؤُكُمۡ حَرۡثٞ لَّكُمۡ فَأۡتُواْ حَرۡثَكُمۡ أَنَّىٰ شِئۡتُمۡۖ وَقَدِّمُواْ لِأَنفُسِكُمۡۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّكُم مُّلَٰقُوهُۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
223. Your wives are a place of cultivation (i.e., sowing of seed) for you73, so approach your place of cultivation as you like74, but do some good act beforehand for yourselves75. Fear Allah and keep His Commandments, and know that you will meet Him. Give good news to the believers.
73. In as much as you sow your seeds into their wombs in expectance of yield.

وَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ ٱللَّهَ عُرۡضَةٗ لِّأَيۡمَٰنِكُمۡ أَن تَبَرُّواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ وَتُصۡلِحُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِۚ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
224. Do not make your oaths by Allah as an excuse for not doing good or guarding against evil or making peace between the people. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
التفاسير العربية:
لَّا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِٱللَّغۡوِ فِيٓ أَيۡمَٰنِكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ قُلُوبُكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٞ
225. Allah does not hold you accountable for your inattentive oaths, but He holds you accountable for what your hearts have intended. Allah is All-Forgiving , Most Forbearing.
التفاسير العربية:
لِّلَّذِينَ يُؤۡلُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمۡ تَرَبُّصُ أَرۡبَعَةِ أَشۡهُرٖۖ فَإِن فَآءُو فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
226. Those who swear by God not to ever have any carnal relations with their wives shall have (a waiting period of) four months76. If they decide to resume martial relations, then Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
76. This is the act of īlā’; vowing not to have carnal relations with one’s wife with the purpose of punishing her. Four months is the maximum time limit allowed for this state of affairs to go on. Otherwise, the husband who took such a vow needs to either correct his marriage, in which case he does not need to make up for breaking his vow and is forgiven by God, or else he should conclude the divorce and no longer hurt his wife.

وَإِنۡ عَزَمُواْ ٱلطَّلَٰقَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ

وَٱلۡمُطَلَّقَٰتُ يَتَرَبَّصۡنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلَٰثَةَ قُرُوٓءٖۚ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُنَّ أَن يَكۡتُمۡنَ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ فِيٓ أَرۡحَامِهِنَّ إِن كُنَّ يُؤۡمِنَّ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۚ وَبُعُولَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ إِنۡ أَرَادُوٓاْ إِصۡلَٰحٗاۚ وَلَهُنَّ مِثۡلُ ٱلَّذِي عَلَيۡهِنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۚ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَيۡهِنَّ دَرَجَةٞۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
228. The divorced women must wait up to three menstrual cycles before another marriage. It is not lawful for them to hide what Allah had created in their wombs, if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. Their husbands have more right to resume martial relations within that period, if they want reconciliation. Women have rights similar to the rights over them according to the law. But the men (i.e., husbands) have a status above them (in responsibility and authority). Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

ٱلطَّلَٰقُ مَرَّتَانِۖ فَإِمۡسَاكُۢ بِمَعۡرُوفٍ أَوۡ تَسۡرِيحُۢ بِإِحۡسَٰنٖۗ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمۡ أَن تَأۡخُذُواْ مِمَّآ ءَاتَيۡتُمُوهُنَّ شَيۡـًٔا إِلَّآ أَن يَخَافَآ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِۖ فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِمَا فِيمَا ٱفۡتَدَتۡ بِهِۦۗ تِلۡكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَعۡتَدُوهَاۚ وَمَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
229. A martial relation can only be resumed after the first and second divorce, then either keeping with fairness or separating with kindness. It is not lawful for you to take any part of what you have given wives, unless they (husband and wife) fear that they cannot keep within the Laws of Allah. Then if you fear that they cannot keep within the Laws of Allah, there is no blame on them for what she gives up (to her husband) to become free thereby. These are the Laws of Allah (God), so do not exceed them. Whoever exceeds the Laws of Allah, these are the unjust.
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا تَحِلُّ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ حَتَّىٰ تَنكِحَ زَوۡجًا غَيۡرَهُۥۗ فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِمَآ أَن يَتَرَاجَعَآ إِن ظَنَّآ أَن يُقِيمَا حُدُودَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَتِلۡكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ يُبَيِّنُهَا لِقَوۡمٖ يَعۡلَمُونَ
230. If he divorce her (for the third time) she shall not be lawful to him afterwards until she has been married and divorced by another husband. In that case, there is no sin on them both (the woman and her former husband) if they return to each other (by marriage), if they both think that they can abide by the Law of Allah. These are the Laws of Allah (God) which He makes clear for a people who have knowledge.

وَإِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمۡسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوفٍ أَوۡ سَرِّحُوهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوفٖۚ وَلَا تُمۡسِكُوهُنَّ ضِرَارٗا لِّتَعۡتَدُواْۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَهُۥۚ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوٗاۚ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ يَعِظُكُم بِهِۦۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ
231. When you divorce women and they (nearly) to finish their waiting period, then either keep them with honor or set them free with kindness. Do not keep them to hurt them, so that you exceed the set limits. Whoever does so, commits sin indeed against himself. Do not make jest of Allah's words. Remember the favors of Allah upon you, and that which He has sent down to you of the Book (the Qur’an) and the Wisdom, advising you thereby. Fear Allah and keep His Commandments, and know that Allah is the Knower of everything.

وَإِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا تَعۡضُلُوهُنَّ أَن يَنكِحۡنَ أَزۡوَٰجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَٰضَوۡاْ بَيۡنَهُم بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۗ ذَٰلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِهِۦ مَن كَانَ مِنكُمۡ يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۗ ذَٰلِكُمۡ أَزۡكَىٰ لَكُمۡ وَأَطۡهَرُۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
232. When you have divorced women77
and they have ended their term (of waiting), do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands when they agree among themselves in a lawful manner. This is an Advice for him among you who believes in Allah and the Last Day. This is more virtuous and purer for you. Allah knows while you do not know.

77. For the first or second time.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَٱلۡوَٰلِدَٰتُ يُرۡضِعۡنَ أَوۡلَٰدَهُنَّ حَوۡلَيۡنِ كَامِلَيۡنِۖ لِمَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن يُتِمَّ ٱلرَّضَاعَةَۚ وَعَلَى ٱلۡمَوۡلُودِ لَهُۥ رِزۡقُهُنَّ وَكِسۡوَتُهُنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۚ لَا تُكَلَّفُ نَفۡسٌ إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ لَا تُضَآرَّ وَٰلِدَةُۢ بِوَلَدِهَا وَلَا مَوۡلُودٞ لَّهُۥ بِوَلَدِهِۦۚ وَعَلَى ٱلۡوَارِثِ مِثۡلُ ذَٰلِكَۗ فَإِنۡ أَرَادَا فِصَالًا عَن تَرَاضٖ مِّنۡهُمَا وَتَشَاوُرٖ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡهِمَاۗ وَإِنۡ أَرَدتُّمۡ أَن تَسۡتَرۡضِعُوٓاْ أَوۡلَٰدَكُمۡ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذَا سَلَّمۡتُم مَّآ ءَاتَيۡتُم بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۗ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ
233. Mothers may breastfeed their babies for two whole years for those who desire to make complete the term of breastfeeding. The father has to pay their sustenance and their clothing according to what is acceptable. None shall have imposed upon him a duty but to the extent of his capacity. None of the parents should suffer any loss from the other because of the baby. The (father’s) heir are similarly responsible to look after the children of a deceased. If both parents desire weaning by mutual consent and counsel, there is no blame on them. But if you wish to engage a wet-nurse for your children, there is no blame on you as long as you pay what you promised for according to the law. Fear Allah and keep His Commandments, and know that Allah sees what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوۡنَ مِنكُمۡ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزۡوَٰجٗا يَتَرَبَّصۡنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرۡبَعَةَ أَشۡهُرٖ وَعَشۡرٗاۖ فَإِذَا بَلَغۡنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِيمَا فَعَلۡنَ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ
234. (As for) those of you who die and leave wives behind, they (the wives, if not pregnant) should wait for four months and ten days (and if pregnant, until birth). When they have fully fulfilled their term, there is no blame on you for what they do for themselves (i.e., to remarry) in a lawful manner. Allah is well Aware of what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِيمَا عَرَّضۡتُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ خِطۡبَةِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ أَوۡ أَكۡنَنتُمۡ فِيٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡۚ عَلِمَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّكُمۡ سَتَذۡكُرُونَهُنَّ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُوَاعِدُوهُنَّ سِرًّا إِلَّآ أَن تَقُولُواْ قَوۡلٗا مَّعۡرُوفٗاۚ وَلَا تَعۡزِمُواْ عُقۡدَةَ ٱلنِّكَاحِ حَتَّىٰ يَبۡلُغَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبُ أَجَلَهُۥۚ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعۡلَمُ مَا فِيٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ فَٱحۡذَرُوهُۚ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٞ
235. There is no blame on you for that which you speak indirectly in the asking of (such) women in marriage or what you keep (the proposal) concealed within your minds. Allah knows that you will make mention of them, but do not give them a promise in secret, unless you speak in a lawful manner, and do not confirm the marriage tie until the decreed period (term of waiting) is fulfilled. Know that Allah knows what is in your minds, so beware of Him. Know that Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Forbearing.
التفاسير العربية:
لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِن طَلَّقۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ مَا لَمۡ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ أَوۡ تَفۡرِضُواْ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةٗۚ وَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ عَلَى ٱلۡمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُۥ وَعَلَى ٱلۡمُقۡتِرِ قَدَرُهُۥ مَتَٰعَۢا بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
236. There is no blame on you if you divorce women when you have not touched them78 nor appointed for them a dowry, but (even in such a case) make provision for them, the wealthy according to his means, and the straitened in circumstances according to his means, a provision according to what is acceptable - (this is) a duty on the good-doers.
78. I.e., had sexual relation with them.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِن طَلَّقۡتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ وَقَدۡ فَرَضۡتُمۡ لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةٗ فَنِصۡفُ مَا فَرَضۡتُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يَعۡفُونَ أَوۡ يَعۡفُوَاْ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ عُقۡدَةُ ٱلنِّكَاحِۚ وَأَن تَعۡفُوٓاْ أَقۡرَبُ لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۚ وَلَا تَنسَوُاْ ٱلۡفَضۡلَ بَيۡنَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
237. If you divorce them before you have touched them and you have appointed for them a dowry, then (pay to them) half of what you have appointed, unless they (the women) remit it or he should remit in whose hand is the marriage tie (the husband). It is nearer to piety that you should remit (and give her full dowry). Do not forget (to act with) graciousness between yourselves. Allah sees what you do.

حَٰفِظُواْ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَٰتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ وَقُومُواْ لِلَّهِ قَٰنِتِينَ
238. Maintain with care the (obligatory five daily) prayers and (in particular) the middle (Asr i.e., after noon) prayer and rise for Allah (in prayer), devoutly obedient79.
79. Prayers are mentioned in the midst of marital affair rulings, because of the hurtful feelings divorce can leave. Hence, people are reminded of the Hereafter, by virtue of being steadfast in their prayers. Prayer in another verse is a deterrent against vileness.
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ فَرِجَالًا أَوۡ رُكۡبَانٗاۖ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمۡ فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَمَا عَلَّمَكُم مَّا لَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡلَمُونَ
239.If you are fearful80, then (perform your prayers) whether you are on foot or riding. When you are secure, then praise Allah (by offering the prayer) in the manner He has taught you, which you knew not (before).
80. Of an imminent danger, enemies and the like.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوۡنَ مِنكُمۡ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزۡوَٰجٗا وَصِيَّةٗ لِّأَزۡوَٰجِهِم مَّتَٰعًا إِلَى ٱلۡحَوۡلِ غَيۡرَ إِخۡرَاجٖۚ فَإِنۡ خَرَجۡنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فِي مَا فَعَلۡنَ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعۡرُوفٖۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
240. Those of you who die and leave wives behind, (make) a bequest in favor of their wives of maintenance for a year without turning (them) out (from the deceased husband’s home)81, but if they themselves go out, there is no blame on you for what they do of lawful deeds by themselves. Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
81. This directive was abrogated by those later revealed in 2:234 and 4:12.

كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ

۞ أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمۡ وَهُمۡ أُلُوفٌ حَذَرَ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مُوتُواْ ثُمَّ أَحۡيَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَذُو فَضۡلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَشۡكُرُونَ
243. Have you not consdired those who left their homes in many thousands, fearing death? Allah said to them, "Die". Then He revived them82. Allah is Gracious to the people, but most of the people are not thankful (to Allah).
82. This is the story of a certain people who, because of fear of annihilation, fled their town in droves, thus thinking that they would outdo God’s Will. In order to show them that they could not escape His Judgement and make them realize His bountiful favours, God took their lives to show them that He is capable of bringing about their worst fears, only then to give them their lives back again.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَٰتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
التفاسير العربية:
مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يُقۡرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنٗا فَيُضَٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥٓ أَضۡعَافٗا كَثِيرَةٗۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَقۡبِضُ وَيَبۡصُۜطُ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
245. Who is it that will lend to Allah a goodly loan83, so He will multiply it to him many times over - Allah straitens and amplifies (provision), and you shall be (all) returned to Him (for Judgment).
83. I.e., spending in the cause of Allah in expectation of nothing but His reward.
التفاسير العربية:
أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلۡمَلَإِ مِنۢ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذۡ قَالُواْ لِنَبِيّٖ لَّهُمُ ٱبۡعَثۡ لَنَا مَلِكٗا نُّقَٰتِلۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ قَالَ هَلۡ عَسَيۡتُمۡ إِن كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ أَلَّا تُقَٰتِلُواْۖ قَالُواْ وَمَا لَنَآ أَلَّا نُقَٰتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَدۡ أُخۡرِجۡنَا مِن دِيَٰرِنَا وَأَبۡنَآئِنَاۖ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقِتَالُ تَوَلَّوۡاْ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا مِّنۡهُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
246. Have you not considered the assembly of the children of Israel after (the time of) Moses, when they said to a prophet of theirs (Samuel): "Appoint for us a king who will lead us in the fight for the Cause of Allah." He said, "Would you perhaps refrain from fighting, if fighting is ordained for you?" They said: "Why we should not fight for the Cause of Allah, when we and our sons have been expelled from our homes?". But when fighting was ordained for them, they turned back, except a few of them. Allah is Well-Aware of the unjust.

وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ نَبِيُّهُمۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ بَعَثَ لَكُمۡ طَالُوتَ مَلِكٗاۚ قَالُوٓاْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ عَلَيۡنَا وَنَحۡنُ أَحَقُّ بِٱلۡمُلۡكِ مِنۡهُ وَلَمۡ يُؤۡتَ سَعَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلۡمَالِۚ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰهُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَزَادَهُۥ بَسۡطَةٗ فِي ٱلۡعِلۡمِ وَٱلۡجِسۡمِۖ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤۡتِي مُلۡكَهُۥ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٞ
247. Their prophet (Samuel) said to them: "Allah has appointed Talut (Saul) as a king for you." They said: "How can he rule over us when we deserve more to be king than he, besides, he does not have abundant wealth?" He said: "Allah has chosen him as your ruler and has given him vast knowledge and physical power." Allah grants kingship to whom He wills. Allah is Ample in Giving, All-Knowing.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقَالَ لَهُمۡ نَبِيُّهُمۡ إِنَّ ءَايَةَ مُلۡكِهِۦٓ أَن يَأۡتِيَكُمُ ٱلتَّابُوتُ فِيهِ سَكِينَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَبَقِيَّةٞ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ءَالُ مُوسَىٰ وَءَالُ هَٰرُونَ تَحۡمِلُهُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
248. Their prophet (Samuel) said to them: "The Sign of his kingship is that there shall come to you the chest in which there is tranquility from (Allah) your Lord, and a remnant of that which the house of Moses and the house of Aaron have left behind, the angels carrying it. There is a Sign in this for you, if you are (true) believers."

فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوتُ بِٱلۡجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُبۡتَلِيكُم بِنَهَرٖ فَمَن شَرِبَ مِنۡهُ فَلَيۡسَ مِنِّي وَمَن لَّمۡ يَطۡعَمۡهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّيٓ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱغۡتَرَفَ غُرۡفَةَۢ بِيَدِهِۦۚ فَشَرِبُواْ مِنۡهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا مِّنۡهُمۡۚ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهُۥ هُوَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ قَالُواْ لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ بِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُواْ ٱللَّهِ كَم مِّن فِئَةٖ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتۡ فِئَةٗ كَثِيرَةَۢ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ
249. When Talut (Saul) set forth with the army, he said: "Allah will try you with a river; whoever then drinks from it, he is not of me, and whoever does not taste of it, he is of me, except he who takes with his hand as much of it as fills the hand;" but they drank from it, except a few of them. So when he had crossed the river, he and those who believed with him, they said: "We have today no power against Goliath and his army." Those who were sure that they would meet their Lord (Allah) said: "How often has a small company overcome a large company by Allah’s Permission?" Allah is with the patient ones.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَمَّا بَرَزُواْ لِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡنَا صَبۡرٗا وَثَبِّتۡ أَقۡدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
250. When they faced Goliath and his army in combat, they prayed: "Our Sovereign Lord (Allah), pour down upon us patience, make our steps firm, and assist us against the denying people".
التفاسير العربية:
فَهَزَمُوهُم بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتَلَ دَاوُۥدُ جَالُوتَ وَءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَعَلَّمَهُۥ مِمَّا يَشَآءُۗ وَلَوۡلَا دَفۡعُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلنَّاسَ بَعۡضَهُم بِبَعۡضٖ لَّفَسَدَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ذُو فَضۡلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
251. So they defeated them by Allah’s Permission. David killed Goliath and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom, and taught him whatever He willed. Were it not for Allah’s repelling some people with others, the earth would have become full of corruption, but Allah is Gracious to His creation (of mankind and jinn).

۞ تِلۡكَ ٱلرُّسُلُ فَضَّلۡنَا بَعۡضَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖۘ مِّنۡهُم مَّن كَلَّمَ ٱللَّهُۖ وَرَفَعَ بَعۡضَهُمۡ دَرَجَٰتٖۚ وَءَاتَيۡنَا عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَيَّدۡنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلۡقُدُسِۗ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا ٱقۡتَتَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ وَلَٰكِنِ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فَمِنۡهُم مَّنۡ ءَامَنَ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن كَفَرَۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا ٱقۡتَتَلُواْ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يُرِيدُ
253. These Messengers We preferred some to the others, among them were those to whom Allah spoke directly84, and some of them He raised by (many degrees of) rank. We gave clear Miracles to Jesus, the son of Mary, and strengthened him with the holy spirit (the angel Gabriel). If Allah had willed, those after them would not have fought one with another after clear Signs of Allah had come to them, but (He gave them free will in religion, thus) they disagreed; so there were some of them who believed and others who denied (the Truth). If Allah had willed, they would not have (disagreed and) fought one another - but Allah does what He intends.
84. I.e., Adam, Moses, and Muhammad.
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ يَوۡمٞ لَّا بَيۡعٞ فِيهِ وَلَا خُلَّةٞ وَلَا شَفَٰعَةٞۗ وَٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
254. Believers, spend (in charity) out of what We have given you before the Day comes when there will be no trading, neither any friendship, nor intercession. And the deniers - they are the unjust.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَيُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ لَا تَأۡخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٞ وَلَا نَوۡمٞۚ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يَشۡفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيۡءٖ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرۡسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
255. Allah - there is no God (worthy of worship) except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence - drowsiness does not overtake Him nor sleep. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, but they cannot comprehend anything out of His Knowledge except what He wills, His Kursi (Footstool) extends over the heavens and the earth85, and the preservation of them both tires Him not - and He is the Most High, the Most Great.
85. It is narrated that, "Between the first heaven and the one above it is (a distance of) five hundred years. Between each of the heavens is (a distance of) five hundred years. Between the seventh heaven and the Kursiy is (a distance of) five hundred years. Between the Kursiy and the water is (a distance of) five hundred years, and the Throne is above the water. Allaah (God) is above the Throne, and nothing whatsoever of our deeds is hidden from Him." the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Kursiy in relation to the Throne is like an iron ring thrown out into the earth”.
التفاسير العربية:
لَآ إِكۡرَاهَ فِي ٱلدِّينِۖ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشۡدُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيِّۚ فَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيُؤۡمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَاۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
256. There is no compulsion in the (acceptance of) religion86. Certainly right has become clearly distinct from error. Whoever rejects the devil (and the false gods) and believes in Allah alone, he indeed has grasped the firmest handhold, which shall never break. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
86. This is a great Islamic principle whereby no one is to be coerced to believe, but it is the duty of the believers to make sure that people know about Islam and what is right and what is wrong.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُخۡرِجُهُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُمُ ٱلطَّٰغُوتُ يُخۡرِجُونَهُم مِّنَ ٱلنُّورِ إِلَى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
257. Allah is the Guardian of the believers, and it is He who brings them out from the darknesses into the light. As for those who deny (the Truth), their guardians are devils (Satan and false gods) who take them out of the light into darknesses87. These are the inmates of the Fire, they will abide therein.
87. When the Qur’an talks about darknesses usually it is referring to a sinful path. Allah is the light and Satan is darkness. Spiritually blind people are living in darknesses. They can’t understand the Qur’an or the Sunnah. They are blind and they can’t see that they’re on the path that leads to hell.
We must all seek the light, which is only found in the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. We must all repent and trust in Allah.The darkness can never overcome the light. The light leads to eternal life and the darkness leads to eternal damnation.

التفاسير العربية:
أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِي حَآجَّ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ فِي رَبِّهِۦٓ أَنۡ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكَ إِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّيَ ٱلَّذِي يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُ قَالَ أَنَا۠ أُحۡيِۦ وَأُمِيتُۖ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡتِي بِٱلشَّمۡسِ مِنَ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ فَأۡتِ بِهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ فَبُهِتَ ٱلَّذِي كَفَرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
258. Have you not considered him (Namrud) who disputed with Abraham about his Lord (Allah), because Allah had given him kingship? When Abraham said: "My Lord (Allah) only is He who gives life and causes death." His (opponent) said: "I also can give life and cause death." Abraham said: "Then Allah causes the sun to rise from the east; so make it rise from the west (if you are truthful)." Thus he who denied (the Truth) was confounded. Allah does not guide the unjust people.
التفاسير العربية:
أَوۡ كَٱلَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٖ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحۡيِۦ هَٰذِهِ ٱللَّهُ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۖ فَأَمَاتَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِاْئَةَ عَامٖ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُۥۖ قَالَ كَمۡ لَبِثۡتَۖ قَالَ لَبِثۡتُ يَوۡمًا أَوۡ بَعۡضَ يَوۡمٖۖ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثۡتَ مِاْئَةَ عَامٖ فَٱنظُرۡ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمۡ يَتَسَنَّهۡۖ وَٱنظُرۡ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجۡعَلَكَ ءَايَةٗ لِّلنَّاسِۖ وَٱنظُرۡ إِلَى ٱلۡعِظَامِ كَيۡفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكۡسُوهَا لَحۡمٗاۚ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُۥ قَالَ أَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
259. Or (have you heard) of the one (Ezra) who, on passing an empty and ruined town, said: "When Allah (God) will give it life after its death?" So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him to life. (Allah) said: "How long have you remained (dead)?" He said: I have remained (in this state) a day, or part of a day. (Allah) said: "Rather, you have remained one hundred years!" Look at your food and drink - which has not decayed (with time); and look at your donkey and its bones - to make you a sign to the people; see how We set the bones together, then clothe them with flesh. So when it became clear to him, he said: "I know that Allah is totally able to do all things."
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ أَرِنِي كَيۡفَ تُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۖ قَالَ أَوَلَمۡ تُؤۡمِنۖ قَالَ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِن لِّيَطۡمَئِنَّ قَلۡبِيۖ قَالَ فَخُذۡ أَرۡبَعَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلطَّيۡرِ فَصُرۡهُنَّ إِلَيۡكَ ثُمَّ ٱجۡعَلۡ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ جَبَلٖ مِّنۡهُنَّ جُزۡءٗا ثُمَّ ٱدۡعُهُنَّ يَأۡتِينَكَ سَعۡيٗاۚ وَٱعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
260. When Abraham prayed: "(O Allah my) Lord, show me how You give life to the dead, (Allah) said: "Have you not believed?" (Abraham) said: "Yes, but (I ask this) that my heart may be more at ease." (Allah) said: "Then take four birds and draw them to you (and cut their bodies into pieces), then place on every mountain a part of them, then call them, they will come to you flying. Know that Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise."
التفاسير العربية:
مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتۡ سَبۡعَ سَنَابِلَ فِي كُلِّ سُنۢبُلَةٖ مِّاْئَةُ حَبَّةٖۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُضَٰعِفُ لِمَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
261. The example of those who spend their wealth for the Cause of Allah (God) is like a seed of (grain) growing seven ears (with) a hundred grains in every ear. Allah multiplies for whom He wills. Allah is Ample-Giving, All-Knowing.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ لَا يُتۡبِعُونَ مَآ أَنفَقُواْ مَنّٗا وَلَآ أَذٗى لَّهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
262. Those who spend their wealth for the Cause of Allah, then do not follow up what they have spent (in charity) with reproach or hurt, they shall have their reward from their Lord (Allah), and they shall have no fear nor shall they grieve.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُبۡطِلُواْ صَدَقَٰتِكُم بِٱلۡمَنِّ وَٱلۡأَذَىٰ كَٱلَّذِي يُنفِقُ مَالَهُۥ رِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ فَمَثَلُهُۥ كَمَثَلِ صَفۡوَانٍ عَلَيۡهِ تُرَابٞ فَأَصَابَهُۥ وَابِلٞ فَتَرَكَهُۥ صَلۡدٗاۖ لَّا يَقۡدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ مِّمَّا كَسَبُواْۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
264. Believers, do not make your charity worthless by reminders and harm, like him who spends his wealth to be seen by the people, and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. So his example is like that of a (large) smooth rock with dust upon it, then heavy rain falls upon it, so it leaves it bare; they will not be able to gain anything of what they have earned. Allah

التفاسير العربية:
وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُمُ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ مَرۡضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ وَتَثۡبِيتٗا مِّنۡ أَنفُسِهِمۡ كَمَثَلِ جَنَّةِۭ بِرَبۡوَةٍ أَصَابَهَا وَابِلٞ فَـَٔاتَتۡ أُكُلَهَا ضِعۡفَيۡنِ فَإِن لَّمۡ يُصِبۡهَا وَابِلٞ فَطَلّٞۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
265. The example of those who spend their wealth to seek the Pleasure of Allah and for the certainty of (reward for) their own selves is like that of a garden on an elevated ground, upon which heavy rain falls, so it brings forth its fruit twofold, but if heavy rain does not fall upon it, then a drizzle (is enough for it). Allah Sees what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
أَيَوَدُّ أَحَدُكُمۡ أَن تَكُونَ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٞ مِّن نَّخِيلٖ وَأَعۡنَابٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَأَصَابَهُ ٱلۡكِبَرُ وَلَهُۥ ذُرِّيَّةٞ ضُعَفَآءُ فَأَصَابَهَآ إِعۡصَارٞ فِيهِ نَارٞ فَٱحۡتَرَقَتۡۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
266. Would anyone of you like that he should have a garden of date palms and grape vines with streams flowing under it, in which he has therein all kinds of fruits, and old age has overtaken him and he has weak offspring who need support, and then a hurricane with fire in it strikes the garden and burns to the ground? Thus Allah makes (His) revelations clear to you - that you may reflect (and realize the Truth).
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَنفِقُواْ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا كَسَبۡتُمۡ وَمِمَّآ أَخۡرَجۡنَا لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَلَا تَيَمَّمُواْ ٱلۡخَبِيثَ مِنۡهُ تُنفِقُونَ وَلَسۡتُم بِـَٔاخِذِيهِ إِلَّآ أَن تُغۡمِضُواْ فِيهِۚ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيدٌ
267. Believers, spend of the good things that you earn and what We have brought forth for you out of the earth. Do not aim at what is bad that you may spend it (in charity), while you would not take it yourselves except with closed eyes. Know that Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱلۡفَقۡرَ وَيَأۡمُرُكُم بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَعِدُكُم مَّغۡفِرَةٗ مِّنۡهُ وَفَضۡلٗاۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٞ
268. Satan threatens you with poverty and commands miserliness and indecency, but Allah promises you Forgiveness from Himself and favors. Allah is Ample-Giving, All-Knowing.
التفاسير العربية:
يُؤۡتِي ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَن يُؤۡتَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ فَقَدۡ أُوتِيَ خَيۡرٗا كَثِيرٗاۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
269. He grants wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever is granted wisdom, he indeed is given much good88. Only people of reason can grasp this.
88. That is why we must get wisdom, get understanding. Wisdom teaches us what to do with knowledge. And true wisdom comes from Allah only. Our knowledge always falls short, but Allah's wisdom provides what we need.

إِن تُبۡدُواْ ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِ فَنِعِمَّا هِيَۖ وَإِن تُخۡفُوهَا وَتُؤۡتُوهَا ٱلۡفُقَرَآءَ فَهُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۚ وَيُكَفِّرُ عَنكُم مِّن سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ
271. If you give charity openly, it is good, but if you hide it and give it to the poor, it is better for you89; and this remove with some of your evil deeds. Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
89. The Prophet Muhammad said, "Among the seven categories of people who will be sheltered under the Shade of God’s Throne, on the Day of Judgement, when there will be no other shade except it, is: “… a man who gives out a charity making it secret, so much so that his left hand would not know how much ˹or what˺ his right hand spent”.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ لَّيۡسَ عَلَيۡكَ هُدَىٰهُمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۗ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ فَلِأَنفُسِكُمۡۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُونَ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ يُوَفَّ إِلَيۡكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تُظۡلَمُونَ
272. Not upon you is their (acceptance of the) guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. Whatever good thing you spend (in charity) is for your own good, provided you do not spend anything but to seek Allah’s Face. Whatever good things you spend (in charity) shall be paid back to you in full, and you shall not be dealt with unjustly.
التفاسير العربية:
لِلۡفُقَرَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُحۡصِرُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ ضَرۡبٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ يَحۡسَبُهُمُ ٱلۡجَاهِلُ أَغۡنِيَآءَ مِنَ ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ تَعۡرِفُهُم بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ لَا يَسۡـَٔلُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ إِلۡحَافٗاۗ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِنۡ خَيۡرٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ
273. (Charity is) for the poor who are confined in the Way of Allah - unable to move about in the land; the ignorant man thinks them to be rich because of (their) abstaining (from begging; but) you can recognize them by their (characteristic) grace; they do not beg of the people at all90. Whatever good thing you spend (in charity), Allah certainly knows it.
90. Muhammad, The messenger of God (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said addressing the believers: "Who can guarantee for me that he will never ask people for something, and I will guarantee Paradise for him?"
This means that whoever commits himself not to ask people for their money or seek their help to fulfill his duties, whether much or little, he (the Prophet) will guarantee for him Paradise. That is because refraining from asking people entails reliance on Allah, and is proof of one's strong hope and trust in Allah, the Almighty. So this person's reward is that Allah, the Exalted, admits him to Paradise.

التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَٰلَهُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ سِرّٗا وَعَلَانِيَةٗ فَلَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
274. Those who spend their wealth (in charity) any time during the night or day, secretly and openly, they shall have their reward from their Lord (Allah), no fear shall be upon them, nor shall they grieve.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلَّذِينَ يَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ لَا يَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقُومُ ٱلَّذِي يَتَخَبَّطُهُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ مِنَ ٱلۡمَسِّۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡبَيۡعُ مِثۡلُ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْۗ وَأَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡبَيۡعَ وَحَرَّمَ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْۚ فَمَن جَآءَهُۥ مَوۡعِظَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَٱنتَهَىٰ فَلَهُۥ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمۡرُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَنۡ عَادَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
275. Those who devour interest (usury) cannot stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except as one whom Satan has confounded by (his) touch stands. That is because they say: "Trading is but a form of interest;" whereas Allah has allowed trading91 and forbidden interest92. To whomsoever the admonition has come from his Lord (Allah), and then desists, he shall have (the gains of) what has passed, and his case is for Allah (to judge). Whoever returns (to usury) these are the inmates of the Fire - they will abide therein.
91. Muhammad, God's messenger said, "The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods), then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost."
92. Muhammad, God's messenger prohibited taking money for blood, the price of a dog, the earnings by prostitution, and the money paid to a soothsayer; and he cursed her who tattoos and her who gets tattooed, the eater of Riba (usury - interest), and the maker of images."

التفاسير العربية:
يَمۡحَقُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّبَوٰاْ وَيُرۡبِي ٱلصَّدَقَٰتِۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِيمٍ
276. Allah will remove all blessings from interest (usury) and increase and bless (the provision for the one who performs) charitable deeds. Allah does not like every persisting denier, sinful one.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَأَقَامُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُاْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ
277. Those who believe and do good deeds who are steadfast in their prayers and pay the poor-rate, they shall have their reward from their Lord (Allah). They shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِن لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلُواْ فَأۡذَنُواْ بِحَرۡبٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ وَإِن تُبۡتُمۡ فَلَكُمۡ رُءُوسُ أَمۡوَٰلِكُمۡ لَا تَظۡلِمُونَ وَلَا تُظۡلَمُونَ
279. If you will not give up the interest which you demand, then be informed of War (against you) from Allah (God) and His messenger. But if you sincerely repent93, you will have your capital - neither harming94 nor suffering harm95.

التفاسير العربية:
وَإِن كَانَ ذُو عُسۡرَةٖ فَنَظِرَةٌ إِلَىٰ مَيۡسَرَةٖۚ وَأَن تَصَدَّقُواْ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ
280. If (the debtor) faces hardship in paying his debits he must be given time until (he is in) ease. Waiving such a loan as charity is better for you, if you only knew96.
96. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “Whoever is hopeful that Allah will spare him the hardships of the Day of Judgement, then let him grant deferral to a constrained debtor, or relieve him ˹altogether˺”.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱتَّقُواْ يَوۡمٗا تُرۡجَعُونَ فِيهِ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ مَّا كَسَبَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ
281. Safeguard yourselves against a Day in which you shall be (all) returned to Allah; then every soul shall be paid back in full what it has earned, and they will not be dealt with unjustly.
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيۡنٍ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗى فَٱكۡتُبُوهُۚ وَلۡيَكۡتُب بَّيۡنَكُمۡ كَاتِبُۢ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِۚ وَلَا يَأۡبَ كَاتِبٌ أَن يَكۡتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ ٱللَّهُۚ فَلۡيَكۡتُبۡ وَلۡيُمۡلِلِ ٱلَّذِي عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَلۡيَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُۥ وَلَا يَبۡخَسۡ مِنۡهُ شَيۡـٔٗاۚ فَإِن كَانَ ٱلَّذِي عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡحَقُّ سَفِيهًا أَوۡ ضَعِيفًا أَوۡ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُ أَن يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلۡيُمۡلِلۡ وَلِيُّهُۥ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِۚ وَٱسۡتَشۡهِدُواْ شَهِيدَيۡنِ مِن رِّجَالِكُمۡۖ فَإِن لَّمۡ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيۡنِ فَرَجُلٞ وَٱمۡرَأَتَانِ مِمَّن تَرۡضَوۡنَ مِنَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءِ أَن تَضِلَّ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰۚ وَلَا يَأۡبَ ٱلشُّهَدَآءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُواْۚ وَلَا تَسۡـَٔمُوٓاْ أَن تَكۡتُبُوهُ صَغِيرًا أَوۡ كَبِيرًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلِهِۦۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ أَقۡسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأَقۡوَمُ لِلشَّهَٰدَةِ وَأَدۡنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَرۡتَابُوٓاْ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَٰرَةً حَاضِرَةٗ تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيۡنَكُمۡ فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَلَّا تَكۡتُبُوهَاۗ وَأَشۡهِدُوٓاْ إِذَا تَبَايَعۡتُمۡۚ وَلَا يُضَآرَّ كَاتِبٞ وَلَا شَهِيدٞۚ وَإِن تَفۡعَلُواْ فَإِنَّهُۥ فُسُوقُۢ بِكُمۡۗ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَۖ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱللَّهُۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ
282. Believers, if you take a loan for a fixed period of time, then write it down. Let a scribe write it down between you with fairness; and the scribe should not refuse to write as Allah has taught him, so he should write; and let him who owes the debt dictate, and he should fear Allah, his Lord, and not diminish anything from it. If he who owes the debt is unsound in understanding, or weak, or (if) he is not able to dictate himself, let his guardian dictate with fairness. Bring to witness two witnesses from among your men; but if there are not two men then one man and two women from among those whom you choose to be witnesses, so that if one of the two (women) errs, the second of the two may remind the other. The witnesses must not refuse to testify when their testimony is needed. Be not averse to writing down (the debt, whether it is) small or large, with the time of its falling due. This is more just in the Sight of Allah, and assures greater accuracy in testimony, and the nearest (way) that you may not entertain doubts (afterwards), except when it is an immediate transaction which you conduct among yourselves. For then there is no blame on you in not writing it down. Take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no harm be done to the scribe or to the witness. For if you do (it) then it will be transgression in you. Fear Allah and keep His Commandments; Allah teaches you. Allah knows each and every thing97.
97. This is known as the verse of debt, and it is the longest verse in the Qur’an.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَإِن كُنتُمۡ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٖ وَلَمۡ تَجِدُواْ كَاتِبٗا فَرِهَٰنٞ مَّقۡبُوضَةٞۖ فَإِنۡ أَمِنَ بَعۡضُكُم بَعۡضٗا فَلۡيُؤَدِّ ٱلَّذِي ٱؤۡتُمِنَ أَمَٰنَتَهُۥ وَلۡيَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُۥۗ وَلَا تَكۡتُمُواْ ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَۚ وَمَن يَكۡتُمۡهَا فَإِنَّهُۥٓ ءَاثِمٞ قَلۡبُهُۥۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ عَلِيمٞ
283. If you are on a journey and you cannot find a scribe, then a security deposit should be taken. If one of you trusts another, then he who is trusted should deliver his trust, and let him fear Allah, his Lord. Do not conceal testimony. Whoever conceals it, his heart is sinful. Allah knows what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
لِّلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَإِن تُبۡدُواْ مَا فِيٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَوۡ تُخۡفُوهُ يُحَاسِبۡكُم بِهِ ٱللَّهُۖ فَيَغۡفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
284. To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselves or hide it, Allah (God) will call you to account according to it98; then He will forgive whom He wills and chastise whom He wills. Allah is Able to do all things.
98. Allah favoured the believing community by not holding them to account for the thoughts that go on in their minds, unless they put them into action. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “Allah will not hold my followers accountable for the thoughts that go on in their minds, unless they speak it out or bring it into action”.
التفاسير العربية:
ءَامَنَ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡهِ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَۚ كُلٌّ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٖ مِّن رُّسُلِهِۦۚ وَقَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ غُفۡرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
285.The Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him (of the Qur’an) from his Lord (Allah), and (so do) the believers. All of them believe in Allah, His angels, His Scriptures, His messengers, saying: "We find no difference among the messengers of God." and they say: "We hear and obey 'God's commands'.Our Lord, Your forgiveness (do we seek), and to You we shall all return."
التفاسير العربية:
لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتۡ وَعَلَيۡهَا مَا ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوۡ أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَيۡنَآ إِصۡرٗا كَمَا حَمَلۡتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِنَاۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلۡنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦۖ وَٱعۡفُ عَنَّا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ أَنتَ مَوۡلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
286. Allah God does not impose on any soul a responsibility beyond its ability. Each will have (the benefit of) what (good) they have done, and upon them (the evil of) what they have earned: Ah, Sovereign Lord (Allah), do not impose blame on us if we forget or (unintentionally) make a mistake. Sovereign Lord (Allah), do not lay on us the burden that You laid on those before us99. Ah, Sovereign Lord, do not lay on us what we cannot afford. Pardon and forgive our sins. Have Mercy on us. You are our Protector, Savior, help us against the denying people (who deny the Truth of Islam and oppose the Peace)100.
99. A reference to the heavy burden of rituals imposed by the Law of Moses upon the children of Israel, as well as the asceticism of the Law of Jesus to his followers.
100. The Prophet Muhammad said: “Whoever recites the last two Verses of this Chapter 'Al-Baqarah', they will suffice him ˹as a shield from the evil˺.”
