[1]. The “Command of Allāh” refers to the inevitable fulfillment of His decree — particularly the coming of the Day of Judgment, when truth will prevail, falsehood will perish, and every soul will face the consequence of its deeds.
For the idolaters and deniers of truth, this Day will come swiftly, even if they mock its delay.
[2]. The verse immediately warns against polytheism — the gravest of all sins, and the only one for which forgiveness is denied if unrepented. After mentioning the imminence of the Hour, Allāh draws attention to this offense to show that associating partners with Him is not only irrational but a direct violation of His majesty. The verses that follow expand on this warning — calling humankind to pure monotheism: to worship Allāh alone, without partner, rival, or intermediary.
[3]. The clearest and most indisputable sign of Allah’s supreme Power is His creation —particularly the vast creation of the heavens and the earth, the mightiest realms within human perception, which none besides Him is able to bring into existence or sustain.
[4]. As soon as he becomes strong and independent.
[5]. I.e., the idolaters and the deniers who deny resurrection, argue against the Truth, and are ungrateful for Allah’s favors
