43 : 16

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

43. We did not send before you [O Muhammad] except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know. info

44 : 16

بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ وَأَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

44. [We sent those messengers] with clear proofs and revealed Scriptures. And We have sent down to you [O Muhammad] the Reminder [18] so that you may make clear to the people what has been revealed to them, and so that they may reflect. info

[18]. The Qur’an is reminder in that it constantly makes mention of what people need for the betterment of their lives; it also reminds people, of God Almighty and the Last Day; and that it is a cause of laudable mention and high repute.

45 : 16

أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ يَأۡتِيَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

45. Do those who devise evil plots feel secure that Allāh will not cause the earth to swallow them, or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive? info

46 : 16

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ

46. Or that Allāh will not seize them as they move about, and they are not going to [outdo Allāh and] cause Him failure. info

47 : 16

أَوۡ يَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٖ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٌ

47. Or that He may not seize them [gradually reducing their wealth and health] when they are in state of fear?
Indeed, your Lord is truly Ever-Kind, Most Merciful.

48 : 16

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٖ يَتَفَيَّؤُاْ ظِلَٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدٗا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمۡ دَٰخِرُونَ

48. Have they not seen whatevery thing Allāh has created their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allāh while they are humble? info

49 : 16

وَلِلَّهِۤ يَسۡجُدُۤ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِن دَآبَّةٖ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

49. To Allāh prostrates [19] whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of living creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant. info

[19]. The prostration of rational beings is their worship and surrender to Allāh Almighty; however, the prostration of irrational beings is their falling in with Allāh Almighty’s subjection, and the execution of His Command. The prostration of creatures to Allāh is of two kinds: a prostration of necessity which is evidence of His Perfect Attributes. This prostration is general for all creatures, whether believers or unbelievers, pious or rebellious. The other kind is the prostration of willingness which is specific to Allah’s believing servants, the angels, and other creatures.

50 : 16

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُونَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُونَ۩

50. They fear their Lord [Allāh] above them, and they do whatever they are commanded [20]. info

[20]. When the Prophet ﷺ recited the Qur’an and came upon a chapter containing a verse of prostration (sajdah) like this verse, he would prostrate himself, and those present with him would also prostrate in devotion. During this prostration, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to say: “My face has prostrated to the One Who created it, and fashioned for it hearing and sight by His might and power.
O Allāh, record this prostration for me as a reward, erase from me a sin because of it,
make it a treasure for me with You, and accept it from me, as You accepted it from Your servant David.”

51 : 16

۞ وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَإِيَّٰيَ فَٱرۡهَبُونِ

51. Allāh said: “Do not take two gods [or more] for worship [21]. Indeed, there is only One God—so fear only Me [and keep your duty to Me].” info

[21]. This emphasizes pure monotheism (tawḥīd)—the belief in the absolute Oneness of God —and firmly rejects any form of associating partners with Him. The divine command, “Do not take two gods,” is not confined to literal dualism; rather, it is a rebuke against polytheism in all its forms, calling humanity to direct all reverence, obedience, and fear to Allāh alone.
Allāh—God, the One and Only—is not triune. He is Unique, without partners or equals. To Him alone belongs the Dominion, and to Him alone is all praise.
It is noteworthy that the word “Trinity” is never mentioned even once in the Bible. The only reference often cited is the account of Jesus’ baptism in Matthew 3:13, 16–17, where the three are clearly distinct—thus negating the idea of “three in one.” The concept further collapses in Matthew 24:35–36: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Lord only.”
Other translations even include the phrase, “Not even me,” referring to Jesus himself. This distinction confirms that Allāh alone is All-Knowing and All-Powerful, while His prophets—Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all)—were His chosen messengers and servants, not divine beings. God is One, a single, indivisible Being. To worship Jesus, his mother Mary, or any other creation as Allāh is to violate the very core of monotheism and directly contradict the First and Second Commandments found in Exodus 20:3–6 (KJV): “Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.”
This command clearly forbids idolatry—a practice sadly seen in some churches that display painted images of “Jesus” or statues of the crucifixion. Such portrayals contradict the spirit of divine revelation and the purity of worship that belongs to Allāh alone, the Ever-Living, the Eternal, Who neither begets nor is begotten.

52 : 16

وَلَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًاۚ أَفَغَيۡرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ

52. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and to Him should obedience be [rendered] constantly; Will you then fear any other than Allāh? info

53 : 16

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعۡمَةٖ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيۡهِ تَجۡـَٔرُونَ

53. Whatever favor you have - it is from Allāh; Then when adversity touches you, it is to Him alone that you cry for help [22]. info

[22]. This reminds us that every favor, blessing, and comfort we possess—be it health, wealth, safety, or guidance—comes solely from Allāh. None of these blessings arise from our own power, merit, or from others; they are all manifestations of His Mercy and Generosity. When hardship or suffering strikes, instinctively, the human heart turns away from all others and cries only to Him—the One who truly hears and responds. This natural reaction reveals the innate recognition of tawḥīd (the Oneness of God) embedded in every soul: in times of need, even those who associate partners with Him call upon Him alone.
Thus, this exposes both Allāh’s benevolence in prosperity and His sovereignty in adversity, teaching gratitude in ease and reliance in hardship.

54 : 16

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمۡ إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ

54. Yet when He removes the adversity from you, behold! a group among you begins to associate others with their Lord [in worship] [23]. info

[23]. This exposes a recurring flaw in human behavior: ingratitude after relief.
When struck by hardship, people turn sincerely to Allāh alone, crying out for help—acknowledging, even if momentarily, that only He can save them. But once the calamity is lifted and ease returns, a group among them reverts to associating others with their Lord—whether through idolatry, misplaced reliance, or ingratitude.
It is a moral and spiritual contrast: In distress, faith awakens; in comfort, heedlessness returns.
This is both a rebuke and a reminder—to maintain exclusive devotion to Allāh not only in times of need, but also in times of ease.
