35. Those who associate [others with Allāh] say: “If Allāh had willed, we would not have worshipped anything besides Him — neither we nor our fathers — nor would we have forbidden anything without His authority.” So did those before them.

36. We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [proclaiming]: “Worship Allāh and avoid false gods.” Among them were those whom Allāh guided, and among them were those upon whom misguidance was justified. So travel through the earth and see how was the end of those who denied [the Truth]. info

37. [Even] if you are eager for their guidance, indeed Allāh does not guide those whom He leaves to stray [14], and they will have no helpers. info

38. They swear by Allāh their strongest oaths that Allāh will not resurrect one who dies. Yes indeed, it is a true promise binding upon Him [15], but most of the people do not know. info

[15]. In a statement of prophet Mohammad, God's Messenger (ﷺ), he related that: "God said: ‘The son of Adam has accused Me of lying, while he has no right to do so, and he insulted Me, while he has no right to do so. His accusing Me of lying is his saying: “He shall not recreate me as He created me at first.” The first creation is by no means easier for Me than recreation.’ His insulting Me is his saying: “God has taken a son (to Himself)”, when I am the One, the Oft-Beseeched, I begot none, nor was I begotten. None is equal to Me."
